Cyborg 009 has some of the more interesting one-off "what if" episodes I've seen in anime, and this episode continues this trend. What if 009's acceleration mechanism malfunctioned, causing him to live multiple weeks within a single second? Time loops isn't a new plot setup, especially in recent times. However, I can't remember the last time I've seen a frozen time setup in anime. Interesting stuff to think about.

Definitely agree, I tend to like these eps more than the actual story arcs stuff. Just one amazing stand alone episode.

Finally a good episode after a couple of stinkers. This one reminded me of a bunch of great things combined: The Twilight Zone, Madoka etc. I'd like to see other cyborg's powers malfunction.

I heard great things about this episode and I was not disappointed. 009's scenario is probably the most terrifying scenario this show has to offer and it's a doozy. Being trapped in frozen time, starving to death or just waiting for your parts to break down. The idea is pretty horrible.

I appreciate the way things are resolved. It doesn't feel like they used a nonsense answer to save the day. I watched the dubbed version after the subbed version to see how Joe portrayed flirted with insanity. The dub DEFINITELY changed dialogue for the worse. I was hesitant to rewatch the show without the dub, but it looks like my decision paid off.

The lack of sound and the still frames were beautiful in this episode. While I prefer episode 32 a little bit more, I'm going to remember this episode as some of the best storytelling this show had to offer.
