| After reading the background info on MAL here, it states that 2-6 are renamed versions of the OVA. So does that mean that there are 13 episodes, but 2-6 aren't in the episode count on this page, but under the OVA page or are there only 8 episodes total? I'm confused and hope that the question is clear enough to answer. Thanks. |

| Yup thats correct. MAL just doesnt want to add episodes 2-6 here since there basically re-using the Ovas and want to keep it as a seperate entry. Just think of it as that this entry only includes the 8 newly animated episodes. But in total its 13 eps. Hope this helped a bit. |
| That's pretty annoying... It could just be added to this, since it is part of the series, and we could add it as one entry to our list... why does MAL do these sometimes?-.- And I doubt that the renamed OVA episodes will be 100% the same... |

| The 5 episodes are essentially the same. Think of it this way; More Magi = More entertainment, even if it's the same scenes. (Who hasn't rewatched scenes from Magi?) |

| I didn't read the background info at first so when i saw it was listed as 8 I was so angry. I thought they would only make three new episodes, one ep for each of the new arcs. Then I looked again and felt really dumb. MAL sure loves to make things hard on us. It would make more sense if it were listed as 13 episodes, that way we could have avoided all this confusion. | This is literally the Haruhi Suzumiya scenario. So I highly doubted MAL mods are gonna change the rules anytime soon~ http://myanimelist.net/anime/4382/Suzumiya_Haruhi_no_Yuuutsu_2009/moreinfo And they literally had the rule that, if the footages are the same, they won't be listed as separate entries. This is why Tsukihime Prologue isn't listed here, as well as why Steins;Gate full rebroadcast wasn't listed either other than the alternative 23rd episode. Likewise for Psycho-Pass season 1 rebroadcast that received a new format and duration. |

| Whoever is responsible for the adaptation is the one who's at fault, reusing the same OVA episodes. Must be nice airing 5 already made eps when it doesn't cost them a penny. |
| As someone already said Haruhi Suzumiya 2009 was 28 episodes but MAL says it's 14 because the other 14 episodes had already aired as the original version. Uncensored versions of anime don't get listed as OVAs so I don't see why them being "remastered" or whatever would warrant them being included in this entry. The way MAL lists anime is already confusing. MAL says Princess Tutu is 38 episodes, which is correct, but 2/3 of the episodes are half-length so they say the episodes are 16 minutes long to even things out. Most subs are based on the DVD release which compiled the anime into 26 episodes, so many people think it was either never fully aired or MAL's info is just wrong. Thermae Romae is listed as being 3 episodes instead of 5 due to non-uniform episode lengths. Anime that are 7 minutes 55 seconds are said to be "7 minutes" on their MAL pages because MAL doesn't round time but truncates it for some reason. |
