Update: I think this foreshadows a little bit what was said by itagaki before the Kojima match this right here I'm thinking that slowly we will get to a plot twisting point where Ippo will give some of his humanity up. And like Sheroze stated it might have something to do with Kumi.(Most likely actually.) Maybe his mother will coincidentally go to or see one of his matches and see the new inhuman Ippo. But IF Ippo becomes Inhumane it will probably be for one moment or for one match so he wont go Kamishiro yuu or Kaneki ken and have a personality change. I wonder how Ippo will look like IF he goes 'Inhumane mode'. As we have seen, The three characters: Mashiba, Sendo and Takamura that went 'Inhumane mode' all had a slight appearance change. | Well, I think it's not a case that "inhuman Ippo" and Kumi were mentioned in the same chapter. I've got kinda theory, that something like Sawamrua punch on Kumi will happend again and then Ippo wil go not inhuman mode, but berserk beast mode <3 I still think there's gap in Ippo's mind, something is lacking. This chapter opened for me some theories... I personally think that Ippo will lose ONE MORE fight, after this he will be depressed, he will ret/be close to retire, but something else will happend and Ippo will come stronger as inhuman, he will destroy enemies like never before, maybe he will lose his fight to Ricardo Martinez, then he will relinquish the belt and Ippo will fight Miyata for the belt? I think Sendo should be main Ippo's rival. But it's just my thoughts :D I like to consider and talking about my unrealistic personal theories, can't wait to know how true they are! :D |
| Yeah sorry for that I was unclear but I meant by Inhuman a more beastly Ippo. Yes maybe he might lose ones again or get a draw and be in a sort of greyzone if he wants to continiue or not. And maybe then he will get a fire lid in him again and train ones again for the champ belt. |

| 100% Agree with you. I have the same feeling that something is missing. The plot feels to 'safe' at this point. Something big is going to happen. For starters, is that the super middleweight will be especially great. For hundreds of chapters we didnt see Takamura take the Super Middleweight class for no good reason. And then finally they stated that the super middleweight class was crowded and full good contestants . I feel like Kamagowa doesnt want him there because he maybe fears the champ. I believe the Super Middleweight class in particuler will be special and more...Fearsome. Since Takamura always had the power advantage at the Jr. Middleweight and Middleweight classes and his opponents always had the speed advantage. But from Supper Middleweight and on his oppnonents will have more power that is on par of takamura's or maybe even greater. And something scarring and/or deep will happen to Ippo most likely |

| When I think that there is still 4 more weight classes for Takamura, a lot of Ippo's, Itagaki, Aoki and Kimura plot, I'm afraid that me or Morikawa-sensei will die until the end of that masterpiece manga :( |

| its already 940+ chapters in and the last few years releases were very irregular due to winter hiatus and operations etc. the anime is also suffering because of that, leaving huge fillers at the end of every year. |

| Well I hope this new Dempsey Roll will FINALLY happen, becouse he's thinking about this for such a long time that I almost lost my hope I'll see it in my lifetime. I hope it will be REALLY big deal and it will completely change his fighting style. |

| Hmm this topic says future expectations right? The two things I'd like to see the most amongst others are: i) Sendo decides to become a well-rounded boxer. By well-rounded, I mean he should possess multiple defenses!!!! I'm looking forward to more Sendo fights!! ii) Takamura going on to conquer the other weight classes. Fuck that bullshit about his age or his eye!! Every other character in the Hajime no Ippo universe apart from the above 2 are minor issues to me. Anyway, if you check my profile, you'll notice I just recently decided to start reading the manga after 5 years of contemplating if I should or not (and what chapter I currently am). Y'all who are current with it, don't be afraid to share more detailed spoilers on characters to me. Inbox them if you wish, I don't mind. |
