 Eirin, the Film Classification and Rating Committee of Japan, has added a movie of the 2011 TV series Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam to the list of works it has evaluated for theatrical screening. Titled Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam Movie - Over the wishes, the work is listed at 1 hour 59 minutes.The committee's rating evaluation was conducted on September 28, and the description does not reveal any new plot in comparison to the TV series. Tokyu Recreation, which operates the 109 Cinemas chain of movie theaters, is listed as the movie's distributor. Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam is the 20th anniversary project of animation studio Gonzo. | If it doesn't reveal any new plot then it will be one of the most pointless things, considering there are already two recap ova out there for this anime. Season 2 was pointless milling and sucked anyway, I don't care. |
| I have been thinkin about it.....and i came to the conclusion that this does not make sense for them to make a recap film for a series after all this time...especially considering that this series itself already has 2 recap episodes to begin with. So tell me why would they invest to have this series booked to be viewed in the cinema's? even if it is a recap film why would they spend there money to this for a series that aired long ago and has already finished airing. After examining a few things and thinking from a buisness point of view..i have come to two possible outcomes. One either they are just doing a little self promotion to re-sell some of it's blu ray and dvd stocks. Two...this could be a preparation to announce another project that involves the series...think about it...why take the time and effort do a compilation film and show it in cinema's unless it is to remind people of the events of the story line in order to promote a new project they are going to start with that involves another story after the events of the last series.....this is the only real possible explanation for this to be done after all this time. After all Gonzo did fam of the silver wing partially cause it was a 20th anniversary project....as well to get some of there finacies back to recover...so with there 25th anniversary coming up as well is still need of more financial recovery this could be why it is being done. I would be lying if i would say i have my doubts about it....it could be this no big deal at all and nothing is really going to happen...but after thinking about what i said in here...u can't blame me for this theory crafting can you?...What do you people think? |

| Same here, even if it's a new story i won't watch it, i didn't like the second season with Fam. |

| Meh. Fam was trash that ret-conned most of the original's lore. Can't say I'm looking forward to it even as a big fan of the first series. |
| The original was one of my favourite anime's but Fam was such a waste. It wasn't bad but it wasn't even close to the originals greatness. I don't really see the point of making a film from the inferior series. That said, I will probably still watch it. |
