Just like Mora's attitude may seem out of place from time to time because you don't know Mora. Just like Goldof may seem to be just a dumb character with a bodyguard crush because you don't know what place Nashetania has in his life in the past.
The appearance of Rolonia may seem weird too, as well as her attitude toward adlet, because yo udon't know Rolonia's past. Nashetania's goal may seem crazy, or stupid, but it isn't at all. And so on.

As someone who have the infos you don't, I can tell you this, everything make PERFECT SENSE.

But yes, I understand that as an anime watcher that part and a few other may have seemed out of place and was annoying.
That story is actually far too smart for an anime, and especially not proper for a partial anime adaptation, because the link between events and foreshadowing between volumes are far too numerous. If yo ustop after adapting the first volume, you have the foreshadowing everywhere of contents from volume 2 to 6, without having the foreshadowed content and without being able to guess it, because well, it's too smart. In reverse, this is a downfall of the anime. IF the numerous foreshadowing and others scenes weren't that smart, peoples would be able to guess what isn't said in the anime, and rather than finding that dumb, they could theorize. But they can't do that here, so in reverse, this just look falsely dumb.
