| I think it was more of that Kogami was shown the outcome of the election because prior to the scene you mention it was showing the voting thing with the presidency. Which Kogami was also i think iirc was saying how they don't need to bear arms anymore or something. This probably means that in the last 40 seconds Kogami was more or less giving a reaction for how the sibyl system was likely elected again. No worries, Kogami didn't get shot by a misfire. If he got shot by that and died I think we would all be pretty damn pissed. |

| Well my theory is that they either didn't show us the kid picking up the again and shooting carelessly or another kid playing with the gun also, resulting in him getting shot. Although I would like to believe the "shock from election results" was what made him drop the cig; but it's not just dropping of the cig, his whole face made an expression as if his soul was leaving the body (as is usually depicted in an anime character's death). Anywho, even if there will be a season 3 / movie 2, I doubt we will see Kougami again. Akame is the main character and the writers probably didn't think Kougami would be so popular in the first place. I'm guessing this movie is his fanservice more than anything else and the last time he gets screen time. |
