Mm, we get some cute bunny ears this chapter:

A lot to be expected from these idols...

Nana takes quite the spotlight this week although I wasn't entirely impressed by the performance. I mean, she has does have good charisma though.

It's nice to see Nana all cheered up thanks to Miku.

However the real highlight of the episode for me is the appearance of......

Nina Ichihara with Kate Hoshimiya's voice! I couldn't be any happier! <3

The Usamin Powah really brings out the natural smile in Nana-chan! It's a part of her charm that you can never take away from her.

If Nana Abe's group would be cooperating with P-kun's next project then that means we'll be seeing them more often in the next episodes, huh? :3 I'm all excited to see more idols getting more appearances and take the spotlight. ^^

This is actually really frustrating to watch cos that new woman's "reforms" are doing no good for anyone in the company. They're all getting demoralised and frustrated and the fans are only giving a lukewarm reception at best, in this case to the removal of the characters' personas (cos personas blatantly damage profits, NOT). Still, I can see why the show has taken this approach. After all, it guarantees drama almost every week, however cheap and forced and stupid it may be.

An okay episode.
Nana was really cute at the end, but I think this time to shine belonged to Miku. I thought she was kind of annoying on the first season but I really liked her in this episode, probably one of my favorite cinderella idols now :)
I'm starting to like her duo with Riina, too.

I was gonna say the same. Lately, Miku has become a lot more likable. It was nice to see her cheer Nana up.

This woman is trying too hard to americanize the company. Just because it does well in America doesn't mean you can take it to a completely different audience with different expectation and expect it to work.

That was a nice episode, good to see Miku being a rather likeable character instead of being a little shit like how she started off, glad to see Nana get a happy ending and also great to see TakeP's smiling face again. Mishiro is still being contradictory as all hell for drama purposes and Nina a cute.

I hope that this episode is an indicator for future things to come, in the sense that they're going to unite all of the production idols together for the finale, group by group.

In the end you just need to let the girls do it with their on way. to bring the best smile.

good episode for Nana fans.

I also agree that MVP of this episode is Miku.

hope that Takeuchi-P project will involve all Idols in 346,it's gonna be livelier of course.

Update, seems slow in here, anyway here preview of episode 4 :

looks like episode about Rika, or Mika, or both, but at the end of preview it seems something is going to happen again.

Things might change in future episodes, but I as it currently stands I want Executive Mishiro to end up under a bus. She is so stuck up about here 'vision' that she doesn't give a single F about the idols, established personalities, established jobs, local aspects or anything. Just streamline everything to hell for her 'vision'. Annoying.

From just the 3rd ep, can see how that lady is affecting much onto the production. And with how the opening show how down Uzuki became, I gt a bad feeling something bad will happen to her.(much like how Haruka is...) I'm hoping whatever that happen, everything'll work out fine and that lady can finally see the 'light' of how idols want to be and not should be!

Saw the preview for next one- hope it's not cos they're young or what and want to kick them out... The season's really not starting on a good note...

Green-lit.

That's an annoying ringtone.

Nana with bunny ears is so lovely. Ears! Ears! Bunnyears! Looks like she got a nasty cramp though.

Based on the executive director's decisions, there was no surprise to Nana's cut.

Can't believe Miku can do that without embarrassment.

Hmm, this episode was pretty insightful regarding the question of characters.

Pretty good episode! I mean I liked Miku before, but her enthusiasm toward Nana and such really bumped her up my list. And good for Nana, staying true to Usamin.
Worried about the upcoming Ball, though, as if Executive Mishiro will make a move to cause drama even if it appears to go well.

And gotta say, that preview makes the next episode out to be particularly stressful. Not ready for Rika tears.

There are much better ways to do drama instead of forcing it like this. So stupid indeed.

I was interested with how Uzuki dealt with the question of what Karen and Nao should do next, her response basically being "Let's just continue practicing and hope for the best." It shows how her background was shaped by previous failed auditions, and the (in a way) unfortunate method of how she was selected in the first place (she failed an audition, but was luckily called back by TakeP after some backed out). I say unfortunate because it reinforces the mindset of "Never mind that I failed, I will just continue practicing, because one day I will be able to make it." Not a bad mindset per se, mind you, but it presents the danger of a steep descent to depression if ever the situation becomes so bad that no amount of practice will ever make her dreams come true.

This is what makes her different from Haruka, I think: Haruka's downfall is that she lost purpose because of monotony. Uzuki's downfall might be that she would lose purpose because of the reality of repeated failure.

Oh, also the Cinderella Project (and Ball) is becoming a refugee camp against the oppressive regime of the new general executive producer. I hope they mimic (in their own cutesy idol way) how a refugee camp would evolve, and how oppressive regimes and international organizations deal with refugee camps.

This series is such a mess. The drama seems really forced and it's not even a good business decision.

Also, while this may be really cool for people that play the mobile game, I don't know who any of these idols are. We have had no time to even get to know the dozen or so idols that are part of the Cinderella project. Even so, this season has been spending episodes giving more time to other idols and I feel like no one's getting proper character development. There's only nine episodes left apparently so I really don't see how this series can pull its act together. I'm sure there will be some really good insert songs especially near the end though...

What was up with Nana's hand?

What do you see yourself as? What do you want to be? What do other's want you to be? This episode barely scrapped a really profound topic - the idea of self-identity and branding. There's probably more to come, but then again, this isn't the type of show to get all philosophical and stuff. That's probably the kind of talk fans should have, not the characters themselves. Still, the little nods to it was appreciated.

I'm curios to see the new woman's reaction when she finds out Nana continued with the bunny personality.
The crowd got bored when Nana went as Nana herself and not Bunnyears, just goes to show how forcing a personality change can be hurtful.

Miku wearing glasses, so cute. Then she goes to the front of the stage and does the cute bunny cheer. Adorable.

Idols as artists?.. I guess it makes sense that idols are further away from everyone, if they don't participate in some of the working things.. But is that image - better?.. No idea.. Idols do gather in their name as if something that's taken further from the mortals, someone on the pedestal, and stuff.. But also of course that's not the only way, and not necessary this way will work out..
I think in this way Idolmaster also addresses the topic of their idols doing work stuff, or comedic stuff, or other things.. Not everyone is a fan of that, really.. Some indeed would want to idols to be more pure, or some other things.. But also having some specific image is good.. What works - works, and fixing what's not broken isn't required.. Some fans like this side, and it's adding more spice to things for them, where abandoning this part would take big part of special identity of idols, why follow them in the first place, why choose them in particular among huge-huge market of idols, with lots to offer.. But also some kind of changes, story can be a thing as well..
But anyway, not like I'm deciding anything, or even leaning towards anything more.. Just some random thoughts on that it's a question, what they do here, and how it'll turn out - it'll turn out somehow.. It doesn't mean in offline it'd work as well or anything, it'll work out, how anime will decide it to go.. And in reality - noone knows for sure, how things like that would or not work out.. If everyone would know - everyone would be popular idol, but that's not what reality is.. In reality luck is also important, as all concepts can work out and not necessary will.. Whether it'd be more on the pedestal idol, or more comedian idol, or some other personality having one.. More cute and joyful, or more beautiful and serene.. Anything can work out or not..
It's a sad state of world at times that some companies and people do tend to believe that only one image is the appropriate one.. But it's in some things today, really.. No more certain types of characters, because it portrays women, or children, or something in bad light?.. It's all over the world.. I am able not to enjoy some things myself.. But I can understand that whoever like them - can have them.. Fiction and entertainment for everyone.. Good thing that Japan still produces all kinds of anime series with all kinds of characters..
