| This is some facinating stuff. We're finally learning about the story Chrno always wanted to bring up but was never able to, a story about his past. It appears that six months ago from the memory was when the sinners overthrew pandemonium and reached the free surface of the earth, the free world. However, the pursuers stayed after them day in and day out. The freedom they seeked had not been reached yet, and pandemonium's head was not in their grasp, somehow in a fight the head got lost in the Grand Canyon. So, in comes why the sinners kidnapped Magdalene, the prophet who knows all, to get her to find the head for them. The head that would in turn help achieve this true freedom the demons want. Or so, that's my interpretation of what occurred. The most intriguing part of this chapter to me is Magdalene. She willingly went with Chrno and mentioned that she was waiting for him inside this 'birdcage' which can only mean she feels as trapped, as lacking in freedom as he and the sinners do... She also mentioned she went with him because she could tell he didn't want to hurt anyone, that his role as 'Aion's sword' was something he was swaying from, as something he wasn't. She connected with this since she feels she's swaying from her role as the 'prophet' and who she truly is potentially. I wonder if it was a young Remington who Chrno was in a fight against while kidnapping Magdalene, it certainly looked like him. |
