There are millions of elderly fans of Winter Sonata in Japan. 5,580 seems smaller than expected. I guess "anime" is not common media for those elderly ladies.

Still, such numbers for something like "making video" is quite surprising...but oh well, it seems that I shouldn't underestimate the elderly ladies dedication. :)))

Now I'm really curious how well the series itself will do. From what I've read on some japanese forums and blogs, most of the "regular anime otaku's" comments were negative...well, I guess it'll be interesting to see when the first episodes are out.

I thought K-On was more popular, 5,845 sells only, I figured close to 12,000 considering the fanbase.

Otakus are really letting that company down.

And Dragon Ball Kai is only number 8, I thought that show was huge.

The real deal for K-ON! is the BDs, as Volumes 1 and 2 proved. Waiting for the update by news team.

Wow, the Gundam entries at #7 and #15 are just a collection of OP and ED themes that you can get from youtube, right?

Or is there some DVD-exclusive material bundled with them?

Exactly. They'll proably sell 25.000+ BD volumes or something like that.

Yes, just the OPs and EDs. But true otakus/fans buy EVERYTHING - and Gundam, as we all know, is huge in Japan.

Oh grow up, all the people who can't stand K-ON being number one.

I'm surprised to see Winter Sonata up so high, though.

Thanks, person who gave me this on another site a long time ago, lol.

Where Hayate no Gotoku is ecchi? I saw no panties in this entire season.

And Ponyo sold a lot, since July. Best-seller of 2009, w/ more than 800 thousand DVDs, by far.

Yeah, I was about to say. Hayate the Combat Butler is definitely not ecchi. And if that's ecchi to you, I don't even want to know what you think about series like Ikkitousen, To-Love-Ru, etc.
