THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

That's some Sanchez is holding in a big green monster. He avoids work? He can't chop, but is a cook? TRAUMA TIME.

That's some intense rice chucking.

Dayum, that's a little beyond 'strict'. Gorey gorey gorey, and wife-beating? THIS IS NO CHILD ANIME, NO CHILD ANIME.

Sanche turned out to be a hard working guy with a harsh past. I was already waiting for the circumstances that would allow him and Mao to become friends.

I have a lot of fun with this series so far, foremeost because it combines so many aspects of the shounen genre I adore.

Sanche was being an insufferable brat, getting in the way of Mao's work, and pushing his own job on him. Or that's what I thought, but he wasn't doing it only out of jealousy. I mean, he was still wrong, especially for stepping on Mao like that, but it's not like he didn't want to do his job, he just couldn't.

The poor boy had a traumatic childhood for sure. That was no father or husband, that was a monster. And that was no training, it was torture. I'm glad that Mao didn't give up on Sanche, here's hoping that someday he will heal from his trauma thanks to Mao and Mei Li's friendship, or maybe find a way around to be an even better chef than his "father" ever was without using a knife, but this sounds a "bit" hard. Can't wait to see the dish they are going to prepare together.

I wonder how Sanche even got accepted to train there like this in the first place though, but welp. lol

Even though Sanche appeared to have a toxic attitude, turns out he wasn't so bad after all after learning about his shitty dad and his 'strict' training which was basically just child abuse.

Sanche is a fucking dickhead! Fuck that guy for tripping Mao and grabbing him by the collar! The definition of a bully. There's no excuse treating another human being like that. Fuck whatever past you had. Sanche needs to be punched in the fucking face. Unforgivable.
