| Since I am now an admin (thanks), I just want to know more about the club objective, since the description and anime relations aren't very clear. The way I see it, there are at least 4 levels of romance categorization in anime, with level 1 being the weakest and level 4 being the strongest. 1. Friendship ("Romance") Shows in which romance is not the major focus, but rather an inevitable results of depiction of youth and friendship. Angel Beats! (I stand by my choice) Pet Girl of Sakurasou (arguably, at least for the anime) 2. Ecchi/Harem Romance The harem/ecchi genre vary in extent of romance depiction, but it at least has more romantic stuff than the friendship type. Sub-levels A (lowest) - harem fan-service without much romance development Strike the Blood B - a decent amount of canon coupling through ecchi-ness High School DxD Dakara boku wa, H ga Dekinai C - somehow crams romantic development into the show The World God Only Knows Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai Oreshura 3. "Slice of Life" Romance Loosely termed as real life romantic situations, without being a purely romantic drama show. Clannad (After Story) Toradora! Golden Time Kokoro Connect 4. Pure Romance Shows In which romance is the exclusive material of the story. Ef - A tale of Memories (+sequel) White Album 2 5cm Per Second (Obviously I lack experience in the shoujo genre...) There are some anime that are hard to categorize using this scale. To give a few examples... Spice and Wolf - romance definitely but to what extent? Kara no Kyoukai movie series - Romance as a side plot or supernatural setting as a side plot for romance? Sword Art Online - Undoubtedly a romance anime. Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei - romance? The problem is that right now in anime relations, there are romance anime with all levels of romantic intensity. New members may be confused coming in with the expectation that this club will be about pure romance shows, but that is clearly not it in reality. So up to what "level" of romantic anime should be included in this club's discussions? Please voice your opinion. |

| If you want my personal opinion I would preffer 2. and 4. But this is me, we should first see what other thinks and than decide. ^_^ |

| Not going into where you placed some of those anime lol, but for me, I would go with Level 2 and above from what you have there. The first level would be for stuff like, say, Gundam Seed, where romance plays a role and events would probably come out very differently if romance had not been a factor, yet the focus clearly isn't on the romance. From there we get to anime where the romance is pretty clear from the beginning in some form or another, and it stays a point for most of the show. |

| Nice list there Bunny. Well I would prefer every level except for No. 2. Maybe the only harem I like is in that category are those in "sublevel C" only because the MCs are not a bunch of idiots who are oblivious to the whole "harem situation". I think level 3 would be my top favorite. Though I gotta say all those examples you gave for that level were more drama than romance. Nothing wrong but damn that Clannad got me good. |
