Wow, these people really dedicate their entire lives to a board game. xD I would probably get tired of it after a while.

This is starting to get good now. Wonder where it's going from here? After all, he's playing the top guy already (albeit in a handicapped match)
There is no such thing as shit taste. Only idiots who think everyone should have the same taste as they do.

I always said the HikaGo manga is the most exciting and intense manga about a board game... nice to see that intensity get translated into the anime too. :) Hikaru is now feeling the pull of the world of Igo...

So far so good but man is Sai an asshole. Demolishing people's self confidence left and right with no regard for them whatsoever. I mean they are not even 14yos I think. Hikaru also doesn't seem to give a second thought to the fact that he is being a complete fraud while he helps Sai inflict this emotional pain to the people that have actually done the hard work. I'm assuming all of this will be dealt with in future episodes but so far it's what has bugged me the most.

I'm feeling sorry for poor Akira, Sai is in a different league.
Let's see if he can defeat Akira's father.

So...3 episodes in, Hikaru finally learns how to hold the pieces properly! xD
But seriously, how does this anime manage to make playing a board game so exciting?

Hope Hikaru doesn't mess up Sai's match against Touya's dad by trying to make his own moves.

That was awesome.

Devastating, clearly, for Akira. (He'll recover.) But Sai was excited about facing Akira's dad. Then Hikaru actually becomes interested in Go, and was so excited about placing his stone like a pro. Haha

Kawakami Tomoko's performance in the last scene gives me goosebumps every time, finding about her passing away was sad, but I'll always be a fan of her

In this episode Hikaru learns how to put down pieces with grace. This is a big revolution for him since that's the only part of the game he actually does.
