Oh noes that loli is rusting :| Well the development is there although it's still rather in a slow pace without any good points of interest.

The plot moves forward in a giant leap. Braiking Boss appears and we find out Oji created Cassern, Leda and Dio. From whatt we can gather, Casshern and Dio can replicate their cells and Leda can actually give birth to a new organism from those cells?

And Ringo could be human too. That's a shocker.

So Casshern is just a killing machine. Poor guy :( must be shocking for him.
And Ringo and luna might be related somehow. There must be a reason to keep such an annoying character alive.

Is no one going to get Ringo away from Casshern before he goes berserk?

Well, anyways, a few big reveals this episode. I was expecting the last episode to have such reveals since it was the halfway point of the series, but I guess it was reserved for this one.

Interesting how both humans and robots achieved immortality through medical science and being mechanical respectively. Luna apparently healed them of the boredom attained through immortality? Or perhaps that was a hyperbole, with both having merely extended lives as opposed to actual immortality. I still don't fully understand how Luna could heal people and robots given their already prosperous lives, nor do I know how Braiking Boss's rule was threatened by Luna's existence. Braiking Boss described Luna to have appeared one day as opposed existing in the world before his rule, and since she apparently bleeds, she seems to be some measure of human, though the anime makes her out to be an ethereal being.

It's almost ironic how Braiking Boss ordered Luna's death to secure his absolute rule, causing the Ruin which not only set a timer for his own demise, but it completely obliterated all civilization, leaving nothing left to rule. With the world in its current condition, he could probably rise up and take over everything again, but there wouldn't be much to control. Also, since there's apparently no way to create new robots, it would make for a very short rule. I find it interesting that as Braiking Boss put it, recreation was the one thing humans have over robots.

I've seen a large number of science fiction stories of robots manufacturing each other, so I don't fully understand what recreation has over mass production, nor do I understand how that would get robots to become gods. I suppose it's associated with the idea of creating life, but since the robots are sentient enough to be indistinguishable from humans, and they were, at one time, mass produced, I don't see the problem here.

Anyways, as a last thought, Ringo is rusting, but is capable of bleeding as well. Is that foreshadowing something?

Apparition of a new character (or rather return of a past figure, here), a good half of the show's infos revealed at once and a new goal (Luna) to open the way for the second half...
In other words, the usual mid-series episode I was expecting.
Problem: what is it with the idea of robots "sexual" reproduction and all? Since they all seem to be their own person, why is building them just like humans did not worth the same?

The child being human was a given but Ringo's sudden "mental upgrade" feels weird.

Wow, huge exposition dump this episode. Braiking Boss was the guy stalking Casshern in episode 1, I figured he wasn't dead and that he was the one that ordered Casshern to kill Luna. On top of that, Oji created Casshern, Dio, and Leda? I definitely didn't see that coming. With Ringo being able to bleed, is she another one of Oji's experiments to create a being that is a perfect combination of robot and human? So many answers, immediately bringing on more questions.

Is Luna really still alive? If so, did Casshern absorb her or did she reincarnate or something? And if she is, Lyuze's entire worldview will inevitably be shattered; Her sister is still dead, after all. Great episode, leaves me eager to see what's next.
