Yup they now entered the manga.... or should I say they broke the fourth wall and became aware that they are in a manga?

Which one is which?

Actually the fourth wall had been broken much before the end scene in this episode. If you observe the scenes where Watashi is at her desk with an open book in her hands, you can notice a drawing of a fairy that changes position as the episode progresses. Clearly, fairies have the marvelous ability to switch themselves and others between the 2nd and the 3rd dimension. Now, it wouldn't be surprising if they can also switch between the 3rd and the 4th dimension. Speculation on a time-traveling gimmick??

because this episode was more of an introduction towards the next one (Watashi said so herself near the end of the episode) ^^

Another great episode. Watashi is moving up the ladder as one of my favorite characters. So I'm guessing the book they got suck in at the end was made by the faeries attempting to copy the manga fad? Anyone has any other ideas?

As someone has already said, this anime deals with every perversion humans has gotten in all of their history.

In this chapter, people got crazed by a fantasy that made then forget about their world and what they really are. It's a perfect portrayal about how we derive our attention and energy to fantasy in order to stay out of reality:

Y doesn't do her job for the UN, she just completely forget about it. The girls who turned fujoshi's are an example not only of real fujoshi's nowadays but also most of the youngsters in japan who live only for their fantasies and delusions while the country is falling into the fearful pitch of populational decline. We can extend this paradox to almost every other country in the developed world.

Watashi acts as the voice of the collective, who is overpowered completely by the individualism that rules our society. Just look at the "comiket" convention. Meanwhile, people keep decaying and "rotting".

-----

Maaan, I love Watashi. That girl is the perfect example of the human nature right now: I don't give a damm, I just observe and do my job properly... no initiative and no empathy. She sometimes show concern but only when whatever it is affects her. Combine her with that voice and the fact that she's cute and it really makes me want to talk to her and dive into her mind.

In fact all of her is an allegory, so OF COURSE she has to be made beatiful and intriguing.

------------

On a personal note... this anime is extremely sadening and depressing... even if it's like that, I'd like to be there and watch with the same eyes and actitude as Watashi the way things work in that world, even if t sometimes would bring tears to my eyes

... it's a morbid pleasure.

PD: I LOVE THE ENDING, DAMM IT... I LOVE THAT VOICE! it's the only japanese singer I would pay to go to a concert of her.

anybody knows where I can get a full version of the song?

Human monument
This actually remind me of the black stone, not sure why.
.... Since human race are going to extinct, they now create "human monument" project to let any unknown intellectual species to know the glory of the human history after human are completely extinct.
Oh ya,, BL is one of our human's proud history. (10%serious ; 90% joking)

Basically these fairy tries to help MC but it always end up more worse than it was....Just like the previous episode....Actually I don't really know what is the MC's worry/problem in this episode.I am kinda curious what the fairy up to in the next episode.

....hmm, somehow I felt a bit annoyed people saying this Anime is "wtf", . .Didn't last episode's mystery are explain perfectly well..

One of the things I really enjoyed about this is that it even brings to mind the discussions people would have based on if entertainment in general could be good or bad. Anywhere from people becoming addicted to positives like being able to communicate with others.

I think Watashi's issue with this episode is that even though being into manga made the ladies happy it still left many problems ou there. One of the top ones I could thik of being how it didn't get people fed. If anything Watashi probably thought of it as a further point of decline considering she thinks bl is crap. Taking it further, she could also be representing the other side of the popularity spectrum. Like say, people who don't like a popular series out there because of xyz reasons.

And I'm actually alright with people using wtf when it comes to this series. It does explaion how everything happens very well. But it is still madness to see the fairies, bleeding carrot bread, and skinless chickens running round. xD

This episode dealt the sad reality and depressing plight of Japan. The creator is obviously fed up of seeing his own country in this state of birth decline and truly he shows it. By simply showing and what a declining and decimated mankind achieves with them. This sadly in a bias tone would be indulging humans into perverted fantasies essentially satisfying their won lust through fawning as the girls in the spoiler
or self fulfilling ways such as masturbatory methods.
Ultimately leading to not wanting any other partner than one’s own brain and imagination glued to the fantasies that the human’s kin produces for him/her. Resulting in no birth and a slow decline of a GET THIS! A slow decline of a declined mankind. Double Negative! In this series.

Brilliantly done! Sadly the truth that I ignore and do not want to admit. I will admit I am not indulged in it at least. I certainly do not sit all around my place to do GIFs and other stuff and therefore am not in the bubble like in the following,

That being the part where they are all inside the manga. Essentially the creator is trying to show that people like that get stuck within their own perspectives of lust or story. Ultimate once again to ROT away as the time outside one’s imagination never really stops. Time moves. As such in the examples of game it would be wise to mention people having died from not peeing? Well I can also say the when one women mentions no sleep done, that is developing insomnia.

About Y, she was very nice in her appearances in the spoiler
Along with my favorite being the following,

Now she is absolutely rotten to the core in the sense of the spoiler
the creator is trying to show that High ups always take in the profit and her at their feet fans, well not all but ideally they are for having distributions of this manga. That is a major problem of coercion not to mention plain insult towards what the creators of stories in anime would deserve compared to a fat ass who directs or produces. I did not see his hands and sleep suffer. Right? EXACTLY! Apart from that I find Y toe b very charmign in her different poses adn angles along with ehr expressions. Rather nice colors used and her appearnce in general.

It is to note that many do not want to do the Human Monument of Cultural Recording but of perhaps being ashamed of it. When you think of what it is now, it's quite shameful ranging from sex to murder as prime examples. Both in the media, culture, religions and almost all facets of makind itelf. Another show on part of the creator. People being lazy of archiving their past to their to shame of that past. Culturally speaking.

The comiket was just a means towards distributions but it does CLOG up time and stress to rather long hours of waste in waiting for what one wants. That is till the internet got invented then things changed a little in terms very perverse materiel being distributed. This goes back to what Y shows as the FAD becomes more popular.

So can be taken from this? Mankind declines as their technology fantasies their desires. As such Atlantis was believed to have sunk with their own tech so shall mankind eventually if they do not stop fantasizing. IMO the author proposes 2 things but IMO next episode will tell how it will all be fixed. The 2 things would be Laws like in Okinawa (I think?) where a law is passed that yaoi is not allowed at all or no demand which would be harder.

I hope to have enlighten many with my view, despite perhaps some vagueness in some of my sentences, of what the creator wanted to show viewers in this episode.

You realize you're already doing that?
The script of this series is only a portrait of our current societyat global level.
Unlike Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and Joshiraku that attempt to be "clever" and "intelligent", "critical", "awareness", commenting on the issues addressed while massaging the ego of the author and a portion of the public, Jinrui merely reproduces the same situations and lay us there on the shoulder of Watashi. That is what makes this series tragic, it makes us see the same situations that we witness every day in third person, which makes everything we notice that is wrong around and within us.

"More Stranger Than Fiction" feelings...
Maybe I'm exaggerating here, but it's just me or are you balancing itself dangerously on the edge of the abyss? Seriously, because you see, what is being shown there is a depiction of the real world. This episode just described what happens in the real world. You can jump off your chair at any moment and watch by yourself with your own eyes, instead you insist on the fiction be more interesting AND the real world be so uninteresting that want to be there in the world of fantasy, be able to see and interact with the world of fantasy.

It's almost as if were influenced by it:

"Except I don't read that crap." Lmao. Brilliant MC.

I find it hilarious that BL manga is what brought manga back into the spotlight here. Good god. Looking forward to seeing Watashi and friends stuck in the manga next ep.

What's interesting is that, despite the decline of humanity, these women are still obsessed with such an insignificant thing as a yaoi manga. Heh.

I LOVE WATASHI. ^^ Her character is really amazing. Not typical shoujo.

As a lot have said, this episode showed human escapism in the form of BL manga. Probably because humanity has declined that such a longing for the fantasy world is immense. It's just like us and watching anime despite of the great opportunity costs. When we have fun, we tend to ignore things around us.

A very meta episode, but it's actually the first one that was directly related to, well, "humanity declining", even though I think that, considering "humanity" as the trait of "being human", humanity has been declining since forever and it's a continuous process, lol.

The ideas poured were good and all, but I feel this episode fell flat compared to the first two.

The reinvention of BL, fujoshi, and conventions- LOLOL. I enjoy this Anime too much. And the huge "SHOCK!" at the end was hilarious. I really like how they're portraying this renaissance, although it might give BL a bad look. It's a clever way to portray the decline of humanity through escape methods.

Hey, the world is ending and we're low on supplies, but who cares? Lets use our valuable resources like electricity, paper, and printing presses to satisfy our fantasy romance needs!
I wish they'd showed more of a problem with it though aside from the obvious fangirls. The guy refusing to deliver their books because they couldn't fit in other resources was good, but not enough.

Can't wait for the next episode.

It's allways more fun to watch an stilized and artistic vision of the reality than the reality itself. With that, I'm not saying that the stilized vision is "softcore". Instead, think of it as an allegory (the whole show is an allegory)... like a poem, like a painting... they depict reality in an artistic way... and through the effort and wit those depictions have, we love then more than the ussual way.

A poem it's allways more beautiful to read and awakens deper emotions than prose.

I'm fairly conscious of most of the political and social problems that surrounds myself but I like to watch it through the eyes of satire and humour... it's more fun.

BL manga arc? Oh yes, more please. I just love it. I think what made this episode at the end was the blank panel bit and the fact that, when Y was shocked, her emotion was written out. I think it made this episode completely fabulous.

Child below ones knees
The contrary of a Chestnut
Asked the snow from the forest
it's just a child.

In the city, I discovered a secret
And the humanity saw it also

I've always watched
the futured and I've faced it
Let's stop the hollow dreams,
the dellusions: The Earth hath sang it.

You, who lives on a dream
You, who dreams of becoming a dream
How will you do it?

Don't forget those feelings
They weren't a lie
Heart. (or soul)

What do we do today?
Come here, squirrel child
Oh, you've scaped to the forest
such a harsh journey

What do we do today?
I cried to you urgently
Can't you hear my heart?

What do we do?
Child below ones knees
The contrary of a Chestnut
Asked the snow from the forest
it's just a child.

In the city, I discovered a secret
And the humanity saw it also

I've always watched
the futured and I've faced it
Let's stop the hollow dreams,
the dellusions: The Earth hath sang it.

You, who lives on a dream
You, who dreams of becoming a dream
How will you do it?

Don't forget those feelings
They weren't a lie
Heart. (or soul)

What do we do today?
Come here, squirrel child
Oh, you've scaped to the forest
such a harsh journey

What do we do today?
I cried to you urgently
Can't you hear my heart?

Is that the FULL version? Ü Thanks ^^ Couldn't hear everything very well hehe Ü

Can somebody tell me what the special thing about this show is?? I mean I love the protagonist and the opening but I don't find it very amusing... where's the plot? Maybe i'll drop this.

If you'd have read the thread you'd know that this show has more than meets the eye. You should use your own criteria after doing it.

The first episode I actually enjoyed watching from the series.
I was actually thinking of dropping the series if I didn't like the 3rd ep but I'm glad I did. :P
