An episode that builds tension, even though the Buggy arc/drama ( seemingly) just ended. I feel bad for Usopp; he used to be okay with looking pathetic, but now he wants to be a good guy!

I hate this ten episodes or so... Nami and Zoro are shown to be loitering by the side of the road twice smh, here and in the previous episode 😴 too many stills that made it hard to follow.

Man even when Usopp is trying to tell the truth for real everybody in the village still regards him as that liar that he always has been. Not even Kaya is swayed by the news of her trusted butler being a feared pirate who just wants the fortune that she possesses and not caring at all for her. People can say what they want about Usopp whether they like him or not, he is a person who honestly believes in what's right and is damn noble at the same time even he's scared out of his mind half the time. But then again if he haven't have made a reputation where he tells nothing but tall tales anyway then the people in the village wouldn't have to result to chasing him out as well as harming him at one point in this episode.

But again, he's just doing this just to protect Kaya. I really do feel bad for Usopp in this situation, I really do.

I am loving Usopp, a lot :)

Loving the show too, hard to put in words how entertaining it is.. you can tell the creator is enjoying making it himself, no wonder there's 1000s of episodes :D

Coming off of the manga to watch the anime, for whatever reason, Usopp is way more likeable this time around in Syrup Village. Maybe it has something to do with the voice acting? Regardless, this was a fantastic episode.

Usopp's very personal and tragic story contrasts well with the underhanded nature of Captain Kuro. Not only do they both have a sort of foil in their modus operandi as sole characters, but the trope of the antagonist's crew being made to parallel the Straw Hats is repeated once again to great effect. While Buggy had guys Luffy and Zoro fought, this occurrence sets the precedent that the captain of any given crew must have shipmates that will fight alongside/for them.

I remember this final half of the arc and the following Baratie arc being what really sold me when I started going through the manga, so I hope similar things can be said seeing them animated!

Oh man, i felt so bad for Usopp, it was obvious the village people would NOT believe him, but its cute how he still tried to tell them the truth OH and when Kaya slapped him...like i totally get it but still hurt like crazy. Him also sticking to the liar role almost killed me, i felt truly bad.
But the crew knows hes a good guy and theyre willing to help, OH I LOVE THIS CREW

This episode was good, but predictable. It was quite obvious that the villagers wouldn't believe Usopp. Slow pacing is starting to show itself.

An amazingly inspiring anime that helped me get out of a dark dark place. An absolute must-watch for any person who has watched anime. Simply, a masterpiece.
