@Ronin-errante I disagree It's no stretch how Osanai discovered Kobato scheme. There are already more than three clues.
In the first one, when Osanai asked him what he was doing, he said he was chilling without turning on the AC.
In the second one, did you notice Kobato's facial expression when he was talking with Osanai? She is definitely not stupid; she knows that at that moment something fishy happened.
The third one is a spoiler, but let's just say Osanai knows more about Kobato than he knows about himself.

| @Qetd56 ah, no... I don't think was a stretch Osanai discovering from this... what I meant is that Kobato was reckless using the paper tissue, considering how cautious he was with others potential clues (like the number of paper tissues that came with the charlottes) |
| The Summer festival with Osanai chasing Kobato, and then showing him a map of her Summer sweet selection, how ludicrous is she trying to invite him into her fray, asking him to do menial tasks like buying all sorts of cakes from specialized shops, one of them being a Charlotte cake. Within the hot heat of the Summer, waiting for Osanai to finish her call seems like an exercise in frustration for being so long, and being hungry, Kobato decides to have the Charlotte cake first, and eat it satisfied until he finishes one. Since there're two more cakes, stealing one wouldn't be so bad, all that's left is to set up the mystery for her. It's different takes on trying to get Osanai into the mystery mix to earn that extra Charlotte cake, though every minute he's being aware of the consequences should she find out the discrepancy, and it doesn't take long for her to figure out his game, no matter how much he tries to deceive her. It all dervies from the handkerchief he had, but then threw it out because of the sauce from the Charlotte cake. Even in the mundane, it's a good mystery. |

Anytime someone messes with Osanai's desserts she activates her Domain Expansion. She straight up sent Kobato to the Horizon of the Captivating Sweets. |
Bros... What if she set him up and he was dancing in her palm the whole time? He wasn't particularly enthusiastic about her summer plans so she devised a plan.
And now he owes her and has no choice but get along with her summer plans. This is not the first time she baited him, too. During the stolen bicycle/driving school arc she told him she wants revenge so the MC would think she might do something and be in danger but she only followed the suspect to the school. While the MC was solving the case, she was already there taking photo of the thief, knowing that it would be enough to get him because he wasn't old enough to be there (she knew - otherwise why the photo would help her?). I know I'm overthinking it but I simply enjoy that some plot holes were left here (intentionally or not) so the possibility of her being the real mastermind is even there. |
| to be honest, this show was becoming a little bit boring to me and i was potentially thinking about dropping it (っ﹏-๑)💤 but this episode completely changed my mind and gave me a massive urge to try charlottes as well . . . ꒰∪´ɞ̴̶̷ ·̫ ɞ̴̶̷ ꒱ i had a feeling osanai would definitely find out but the build up was really fun and interesting ~ i wonder what she was talking about on the phone for so long as well ^ ̳>𖥦< ̳^ i'm excited for the next episode and to see what random thing might happen !(Ｕ 'ᴗ' )⊃━━*.🫧ﾟ |

Currently, JEFFBECK in real life is not even a sweets shop. It was modeled after the confectionary shop Takimoto, which was closed at the end of 2023. Takimoto still has its shop in the nearby city of Kakamigahara.

| Fun episode, might be my favorite so far. A new and interesting setup where Kobato has to cover things up. Kobato's meticulous and timid approach to something so trivial. Kobato fretting and immediately folding under the lightest pressure. Osanai's freakish attention to detail that rivals Kobato's. Osanai's calm but terrifying demeanor; the way she enunciates "why did you think to do this?" in exactly the same fashion twice. The implication that it wasn't necessary for Kobato to slip up at all for Osanai to see the truth, by reading Kobato's words and actions like an open book. Characters finally show some character. I understand their dynamic a little more. Stakes felt a little more personal and dare I say dangerous. The deduction was simple but air-tight, I think. And it's wonderful that there's more to "the game" than logic and intellect. |
| This might be my favorite episode bahaha. When Osanai messaged that she will be unavailable while Kobato was already biking amidst the heat I felt bad for him 😅 This series has featured much food but this ep in particular made me really think about spending money on some delicious (and surely pricey) pastry soon. I can't stand the tense feeling while they were talking all the while we know Kobato was hiding something lol, the camera angles helped. I have to rewatch those parts. Admittedly when Kobato was brainstorming on his perfect crime, I thought it was because he felt bad that he started eating without her, I didn't think that it was because he wanted a second cake HAHA Osanai: If I didn't notice the handkerchief you would have given a hint Kobato: I wouldn't do that I wonder if Kobato knew that he was contradicting himself, or he really is oblivious about himself. Because I think him using the tissue was his hint - unintentional or not it felt like he was testing Osanai if she will notice. Osanai was right, that Kobato can be sly and be weirdly competitive. We still have to know how the previous him exactly faired when he was younger because he is doing his best to be ordinary now. Anyway I love Osanai's small smile and knowing expression during the confession and the very last scene. |
