I really love the light novel, and it appears the anime is starting things off with good character development that tracks well with it. Looking forward to the next episode.

ok this was a lot of fun
an isekai kid who can use the ideas of her past life to make magic tools, and can already know which magic stones to use (like fire and wind together for hair drier), that's an amazing concept, i love it

the visuals are also nice and i didn't dislike the music, so i think this will also be an easy watch
favorite "new girls" from summer <3 ... click sig for older seasons and more possible picks (rip all the other choices)

The starting 15 sec is the generic kind of isekai reincarnation but after that it was a wholesome story

Was it actually necessary to "reborn" someone? Why couldn't she just be born into this world and be raised by some skillful artisian?

Is it ever necessary? It’s an artistic choice and the author wanted that.
I do not vibe with the weird CG backgrounds. They just look weird, and also there are continuity errors. Most notable one is at 2:19, where the blurred shot does not match the following un-blurred shot at all.

@Marinate1016 lmao, adding absolutely irrelevant plot points to make your story fit a popular genre is not an "artistic choice", it's a marketing tactic.

It’s still an artistic choice regardless of the motivation. Cry about it

DAHLIA IS FINALLY HERE!!!!
Why the low score tho? Well, the animation is a little bit on the rough side, not bad enough tho. But I think the 1st EP did justice to the source material so far.

Along with Iris (Koushaku Reijo no Tashinami), Rozemyne (Honzuki no Gekokujo), Pryde (LastTame), Alicia (Rekiaku), and Francesca (Akutou no Ikka Mana Musume), Dahlia is one of my top favorite strong-independent-dominant (non-yuri / yuri-bait) female isekai MC, where almost literally the main male protag (if any) is just there for the romance/story, but the girls can pretty much handle the world on their own.
Please emphasize on "isekai", since Maou Ruby (Maouyuu), Rishe (loop-7), Mariela (last surviving alchemist), or Nanaly (Mahou Sekai no Uketsukejou) are natives to the world and not isekai'd. And I'm also not talking abt mostly physically/magical strong girls as well, like Shiraori (Kumo desu ga Nanika), Tanya (Youjo Senki), etc.

This anime was a complete surprise for me. I'm even a member over at J-Novel, so there's no reason for me to have missed the source material other than time constraints and the shoujo tag. I think this is a great example of a crossover for that genre. Maybe everyone these days wants horrible cgi art, but I prefer the warmth of hand-drawn anime, and the OST really adds to the pleasant ambiance.

While I'm dismayed at the raters' relative lack of respect, I never really had any confidence in the mob from the beginning. Things like this just reinforce my poor opinion.

It's not made clear, at least in this first episode, how much of her past life she remembers.

Watching a number of different isekai for a while now, even if we just limit it to the reincarnation variants of isekai (as opposed to when the exact same person in their exact same body is teleported/summoned by a god or some other force, or travels through a portal), I've seen one extreme where 100% of their complete same consciousness, memories, personality, etc. is preserved and it's just like they changed host bodies as if their brain was just transplanted into a new suit or vehicle and they pick up the next second from where they left off when their old body died. To ones on the other extreme end where the new person really is and feels like a new person and doesn't even have access to memories of the reincarnated one's former life and they're like two distinct entities co-inhabiting the same body.

And numerous other points in-between like their memories are very spotty and muddled and they feel themselves having their personality forcibly overwritten in real time by biological mechanisms like the young age of their new body and having to experience infancy, childhood, adolescence and puberty, etc. all over again and it altering their brain and the decisions they make.

The problem with some lazy undefined isekai setups is just that...they never go on to define and explain it at all.

I like how they started the anime as compared to the LN. If they had started the anime at the point that Tobias had broken off the engagement, and then simply had flashbacks of Carlo, I think the anime would be even lower rated than it currently is. And I also don't think you'd get that true understanding of Carlo in that regard either.

It's definitely a shoujo, things like that weren't written using the brain
the fantasy is broken because the magic in it is a type of electricity, something ''convenient'' for the story (if there was one) there is no evil and everyone lives in harmony during such a brutal ''period'', but in reality it's just European medieval Japan, something I see in 10 animes out of every 9
For me, the anime died the moment this adult woman showed signs of losing intelligence when she was a child

I have seen the overworked death leading to isekai before, but normally they become op characters like in Death March Parallel World.
Even dahlia still has to get better in order to create the things from our own world.,
I kinda like inventing aspect of this anime.

I have ADD, ADHD & AUTISM, but this won't stop me. Let's keep having fun together.

[Giggles, I forgot about this series, watching it as season just finished... hehe]

.

Anyways... watching episode 1...

Does MC not have all of her memories from past life from the beginning?

Since she clearly remembers some Earth devices, AND English names. (with drawings)

But she is also oblivious to the dangers of Risk and seems to have no memory of her past life knowledge beyond just knowing about Earth devices.

Even when she's grown from the time skip, it seems like she still doesn't have her past life memories.

Seems like she just have partial memories, knowing about Earth Tech and how they look like and should work, but has no real idea how most of them actually works or her adult memories. (since knowing her past memories would have given her a whole different personality where she isn't "just discovering" something that she would already know back on Earth)
