It's too bad they didn't have the budget to make the action look cool in the final episode.

That's it? Their group is bigger than ever, but it's a shame there's no progress in the romance. I guess romantic subtext doesn't mean there will be any meaningful romance.

Is there going to be a S3? There are plenty of things that have not been made clear or resolved. What about Emi's mom?

Well I guess that’s that. At the end it said “fin” so that signifies this series is over.

The fight was interesting I guess and through this season we saw major developments in the relationship between Satan and Emilia along with the introduction of Aceith and some new advancements into the world of Ente Isla.

With that in mind, honestly this was pretty mid. The Ente Isla lore wasn’t presented in a way that’s easily manageable with random stuff being brought up all willy nilly. If we contrast this with a series such as Naruto, we learn more about the ninja world and Ninjutsu as Naruto goes out and explores. It isn’t until Naruto Shippuden in which we’re introduced to chakra natures and how they relate to one another (we do see them in action, but not the in depth explanation Kakashi gives to Naruto). For this series we weren’t following it from the perspective of someone who knows nothing, so all the ins and outs weren’t thoroughly explained.

I guess everyone is all one big happy family and they’ll continue their lives in Ente Isla/Japan…

Лучшее аниме, что я когда-либо видел. Очень жду продолжение и не хочу, чтобы оно когда-то заканчивалось.

Well, that was an ending, I guess. The build up to this point was good but the fight was meh and the conclusion felt rushed. And even the transition from the scene at the table to the "fin" was weird.

There were things that I liked though. Emi being a total cutie, Suzuno stepping up as a Demon General, Chiho!, Emi being fired after a month's absence xD and of course, seeing everyone gathered at the dinner table.

Anyway, I enjoyed having more of Maou-sama. I understand that this sequel had its problems but what makes this series for me is the characters and their interactions and that's still there and I still have a lot of fun with it.

Chiho is still best girl for me, Emi is a really cute tsundere that I love and Suzuno is underrated, I love her and appreciate whenever she gets more screen time.

OP and ED were great. I loved the ED, especially the part where Chiho poses in front of the mirror <3.

I'm going to miss this series. From a continuation that seemed impossible to having so many new episodes was something incredible. I just hope that if they plan to bring out a new season, this time we don't have to wait so long.

still a great series, a good balance of comedy, bad-assery and magic action. Will happily watch more of this if there is more. But regardless, Happy to have watched it

Season 2 would have been better if they aired it in 24 episodes. A proper reason for the Alus Ramus character would have made her much more tolerable. It also would have made the beach shack a building experience on the way to a conclusion instead of a waste of 12 episodes.

I liked this season tho. It was nice enough. Some better animation and art direction could have made it an 8 out of 10. There were enough story beats to make things somewhat compelling, but it's animes job to embellish and improve how the story is told. Like Death Note's anime vs the manga did sometimes.

So I give it a 7 out of 10. This is the one time where splitting one season into 2 parts made everything worse. If you only get 12 episodes AND you are past the prologue of the story, MAKE THEM COUNT! If you can't do that, just leave the story alone. In the end, we would have been better if part timer never got an anime sequel to begin with.

Hello everyone, I'm not a loyal fan of the work, but recently I saw the anime and its two seasons, and in this second season I saw that Emi's mother and father appear in the work, with her meeting her father at the end. But what about your mother? Does she find her in the novel? Or does she even know that her mother is alive?

prolly in the minority, but i actually had a good ride BUT, yeah i agree with others, the shows going downhill. i loved the 1st season since it holds a special place in my heart, the 2 seasons after im at a crossroad. while its awesome its getting (maybe?) continued, it is going in a dif direction

i loved the simple animations back in S1, with many hints of spice here and there. in this season its like they tried so hard to be shiny, but failed. simple is the best, and they dropped it. while it was shiny in some parts, it felt severely lacking in others

anime/manga version of steam would be awesome - https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1625396

OK end for the season I guess.

What I really wonder about is the "True God" they're trying to prevent... (and judging by the looks of it, I think the True God might actually be Maou if he can get all the Shards together)

And it looks like Emi is having a major "feeling" toward Maou... which with everyone constantly talking about it, we know how that ended in the source. Guess this is the part where ppls think it's NTR, cause Emi actually does have feelings. Albit not really NTR, more like soft-core, aka "Cocking" where your love interest is taken by others. (doesn't require actual physical relations)

.

Tho they haven't really explain how Maou got his power back after crashing into Emi's dad... this part makes no sense, lol.

Also, why did the "Angels" wait til Maou get his powers back before they decide to challenge him... they literally saw him riding on the scooter, with them flying, they could have easily intercepted Maou before they get to Emi's dad... Especially since Maou didn't recover his powers yet.

Other thing, they could have at least forced Gab to restore the "Heavensky" buildings like he did with the school in Japan. Especially since he should have more magic to use back in their world.

.

So, I guess this was it, huh? From what I can tell, this looks to be the final installment of the series, and there won't be another season. I'd be surprised if they did make another season after ending this season like they did. But it'd make sense because why bring this show back after 9 years just to not finish adapting the rest of the source material? Though tbh, I'd prefer Is This a Zombie? to get a third season (and eventually a complete adaptation) instead.

So this is the end? Because it felt like another episode was needed, it ended so abruptly like someone cut at the end of episode. Lot of things weren't even explained and basically left on a cliffhanger... Tell me its not the end

Alright that's it. Not intense fight but all good. Good ending i guess, they are really like a big family now. It's really fun journey with Hataraku Maou-sama!!. If get a sequel maybe we need to wait 8 years later.

Just like the first part of Season 2 this kinda felt like nothing happened.
Glad everything got sorted and they're back to being able to live in the human realm again though. (Without any issues from the Demon Realm)

The fin at the end seems like this is it for the series.

But the second part of S2 is much better than the first. Though overall still just okay. Nothing will top s1 but it was a decent ride.

Well an ending that you would expect. It's just really a shame if a fight-focused last episode has shit tier animation.

Didn't expect another step down from the previous season, but here we are. Animation was horrible and the characters had their brain cells reduced by at least 50%. 3/10

A bit anticlimactic.
A really needed some Lailah presence and explanation at either the climax or the family gathering.

Third rate angles and third rate animation fight but otherwise pretty good finale. Man, I remember first season having pretty "cheap budget" animation by the time looking so much better. Anime industry apocalypse is real.

But this is about best part of the story, peak. Going back to japan with good relationship now.

Ok, binged the whole series after watching just the first season years ago.

It was pretty great. The first season might have made some promises that felt unfulfilled later on, mainly talking about action segments which were not really the focus in the end, and the romance triangle was left mostly unresolved - although maybe that's for the best, one Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien scarred my soul enough, and this was heading in a way too similar direction.

Based on the ending, either pairing is realistic, in fact I could even imagine a Suzou ship working well. Loved the way she grew accustomed to being a demon lord general. Or, you know, depending on Maou kun's immortality, Acieth Alla could also be an interesting choice. Leaving it all for your headcannon felt kinda nice here. Resolving the romance without dedicating another season to it just wouldn't feel right. Maybe if the "fin" was meant to signify the actual end of Season 2, they could do another SOL season with minor lore focus that would resolve the relationships better.

Speaking of lore, everything felt tied up neatly, except for Lailah, whom I hoped would play an important part. There's definitely a lot of lore to go with, but I know nothing about the source material and how much of that was or wasn't expanded upon. Things like the Sephirah, maybe giving a clearer answer if demons are simply just "humans" too, what exactly did Lailah do to young Maou, and a few other things.

Anyways, after being HORRIBLY disappointed by Shingeki no Kyojin S4, I went on a little isekai rampage of my own, and Hataraku Maou-sama was a great entry, standing firmly on its own feet alongside Overlord, Isekai Maou and Konosuba.

I just really don't understand most of the complaints about quality. Sure, it wasn't as epic as some other anime. But, for example No Game No Life was a lot more grand and cool, yet Hataraku Maou-sama was better polished. I mean, I did enjoy NGNL greatly, but perhaps if it wasn't so grand and cool, it would also get three seasons and more content. Instead, we got a little "high-quality" appetizer. So which is better, really? I prefer being able to experience a great story in a more frugal package, rather than not being able to experience it at all.

Anyways, 5/5. If we ever get a chance to visit these two isekais (sadly our Earth is not so friendly and peaceful, must have been a different one), I will gladly jump back. The characters alone are well worth it.
