| I wasn't crazy about the animation and overall production levels for the newer OVAs that I just finished today, but the first episode for this new season looks pretty great, well-animated with some great direction and shot composition displayed overall. Very impressed with what I saw from that standpoint, even if it still does feel somewhat different to the original season/OVAs and I do miss a bit of the charm from how that one looks. Good to just have the main series back again after so long, maybe a smoother transition towards this season at the start would have been even nicer. The JUNNA song isn't as top-tier as the first season's opening song, but is still a solid one to listen to. Plus, the visuals for that were really good too and unlike WIT, there was no overabundance of shots featured in the anime that were constantly reused there too, which is a plus. Hopefully the rest of the season can maintain standards remotely close to this level. Promising start so far, even if it was mainly an introduction/transition episode to a new arc and era for this series. |

| I like the idea of Chise being able to make friends. Simple friends, not those who tried to kill her or she has to save first...and the sorting cats was a nice touch. |

| They're finally back again. I'm so excited! Chise finally officially became an academy student to study and manage her magic. There are some new casts that started to appear and it's quite interesting and mysterious including those dorm cats. It may be a simple little thing but I love when Chise says "I already have a home" confidently because it's something she's wanted for a long time :) The OP and ED are very good. |

| This should be an interesting change of pace if Chitose will be living on campus for the next little while. I wonder if her roommate will bring up the fact that her dog/human familiar will technically also be sharing the room (I assume). |
| It's been 6 years. I'm glad they will be continuing the anime for it's second season. Good thing I watched a summary of the prequel before this because I mostly forgot what happened in the 1st season. But still, I remember how good the anime was! Now Chise's in college now. |

| I recently re-watched the first season and started with season 2 right after but episode 1 felt like such a let down, it just didn't have any of the excitement or emotions that came with every episode of season 1, really hope it gets better later. The op and ed themes also felt lackluster compared to those of season 1 which I love and listen very often. |

| how the fuck did they make this after 6 years and not give us a recap at all? Every little shitty yearly shounen gets drowned in recaps and this gets none? No 2 minute quick overview to refresh our memories, no optional special? Who is the target audience supposed to be, because I seriously doubt many are willing to (re)watch a 6 year old show for this and apparently the numbers here reflect that. The only part of S1 I really remember is the kick ass intro, speaking of which, this one sucks. |
