Do people not understand that this is a parody?

KonoSuba though... I can probably see it as a parody, since it pokes fun at a lot of tropes from other isekai stories.

Gamers I could only see as a parody to misunderstandings in romance anime. But misunderstandings happen in all kinds of anime, so that's not a specific feature of romcoms which I see being parodied here.

I think love is war is parodying the "fuck already" aspect of romance, and the absurd plans are just it's way of pushing that to the extreme. it also sometimes goes out of it's way to poke fun of other romance tropes too, like how it talks about it being a non-ecchi seinen in the ova, or that whole shoujo manga bit they were doing.

but again I see what you mean. I actually never thought about it that way.

although I do think "misunderstandings" like that are way more common in romance dramas compared to other genre's. and I think this show is making fun of the absurd tangled mess kinds of misunderstandings, which I don't think I have seen at all outside of romance anime. I'm curious to know if I'm wrong on that though.

both of them are one of my favorites, but I do absolutely think love is war is the better one out of the 2. by a good distant at that.

but what I will say is that, comedy wise I thought this was slightly funnier.



and here's the thing, I do think this show is underrated. not because it's the greatest thing ever, but because by mal standards a 6.7 is way too low for a show as good as this. and for haruhi's sake, tokyo ghoul root A, hige hiro, and darling in the franxx are above 7.
