| I think the problem is the premise - it's impossible to make the viewers get to know and like 100 characters - which is what Komi's goal is. Instead of introducing new characters constantly, they should have kept the season 1 characters + the charming bunch they added to season 2 (Sasaki and Kato). It would have been a MUCH stronger message if Komi did not manage to make 100 friends, and that it's okay, because the ones she does have are good enough. And have the show orogress like any other slice-of-life comedy anime. I still rated it 10/10 because I just genuinely love Komi as a standalone character. But overall, the show went from 9/10 to around 6.5/10. I hope that if Komi gets renewed, they will stop bringing new characters to an already nice bunch. |

| It's the epitome of average. Nothing's great about it, nothing's horrible about it. It's like if Mishima from Persona 5 became an anime. |

| Overhyped, what? An anime with an overall score at 8.00 is not in any way overhyped. It was a good anime. The score correctly represents that, you even agree with it. I fail to understand the point of this post. |

| Totally agree, WataMote took the same 'Social Anxiety' premise and generated all kinds of hilarity with it and largely using only the MC. Meanwhile Komi's show was stuffed with a HUGE cast of forgettable supporting characters and was entirely mediocre by comparison. WataMote had me busting a gut and laughing out loud non-stop, whereas this series was lucky if it managed to get me to let out an occasional chuckle of amusement. I didn't hate it, but it was fairly 'meh' in my personal experience (I gave it a 5). I'd rather have more seasons of WataMote than this series, that show was actually starting to introduce characters from the manga that were genuinely interesting, whereas this show introduced so many new faces it was hard to keep track of them all, but still ended up feeling really bland regardless. |
