It's really weird how non-tense combat feels. Like there are people getting absolutely destroyed by the soot sickness, but most of the "living dolls" seem to be really relaxed about possible possession and/or death. My best guess is that for most of them, the coffee is clouding their sense of danger, and Emilico is just not the sort of person to be freaked out to begin with, but it's really weird to have everyone so cheerful while at least a dozen of your coworkers are getting possessed by the giant shadow monster.

Someone controlled the twins. Bowl cut def looks crazy and I feel like purposely got mia attacked. With all the backstory the hooded figure is probably Christopher?

And idk how the coffee brain control works. It seems to do a blanket of things.

One of the guys deliberately pulled Mia into path of the clinger, but none of the characters brought it up. The fight with the oddly passive giant soot monster was somewhat strangely handled in general.

The "Go on without me!" scene with Ricky and Shaun was genuinely funny. Shaun was out of there the moment he said it, haha.

Yeah, everyone was pretty much standing around doing nothing, instead of retreating or fighting, especially the older living dolls.
The part with Oliver explaining how the machine worked ruined the momentum of the battle. Did we really need to know all that?
This battle felt really low stakes. When Emilico intervened, all I could think of was "of course she's going to be the one to fix everything".

The action in this never fails to surprise me. Seeing more of the star-bearers and their strengths varying is interesting. The mysterious figure is also very interesting as I'm predicting most of the soot is just morphs trying to take a form.
