Goddamn, this was so amazingly well put together.

I'm always impressed with how they flesh out some of the more silently expositive scenes in the manga, it's truly exquisite to see how the Ymir was presented with the care it deserved.

For a second I thought they would have rushed it in a 3-4 minutes to be honest, and instead, nearly 10 minutes were dedicated to give it life in a way it did it justice.

That aside, I think this is another episode that will get a better treatment with some key frames in the BluRays, much like it happened with Final Season Part 1. Some few parts were a bit less polished than others, but nothing too major.

Phenomenal episode for one of the highest moments in the entire story. Now I wait for the biggest of shots that is 131 to be animated!

It's kind of baffling to see how many manga readers mock Isayama for how Ymir was written while they blatantly spell out they never understood her character in the first place.
Exactly! Those that dislike the writing of Isayama regarding the characters and story are simply to dumb to understand how complex it is!

Eh, saying they are too dumb is going a bit far. It's more like they want to shit on the story no matter what since their headcanon wasn't a thing, I would say they are infantile instead.

That being considered, being dumb depends of the person, of course (some are sheep following what that crowd was so vocal about complaining and never stopping to analyze the source material again with care themselves), but many are mostly doing out of spite because of what they thought would be better and was never meant to be (and if you see the salty shipper bad fanfic level of an edgy and inconsistent take on the ending which they even made a doujin manga for, it's definitely not).

Oh yes, because 131 is not considered the best chapter of the manga for so many fans, sure is a downward spiral lol

Anyway, it's more like you missed the whole point of the manga, honestly. There's no sarcasm.

I really needed this today after the dumpster fire that KnY is becoming. However, I don't understand why Ymir kept obeying King Fritz after she got Titan powers. Are they trying to portray her as a caricature that will always obey instructions, until Eren comes into the picture and asks her to decide if the rumbling happens or not? Cool idea, but Fritz seemed too much of a jackass for me to buy it.

Well, Isayama added a pathetic explanation for this in the ending, but it seems like you are an anime-only so I won't discuss it actually "Internal Suffering"

Wow... Imo the best episode of AoT..

Eren's speech.. that was so intense, epic and terrifying.

The transfomation was phenomenal, the soundtrack, the animation, everything.

Ymir's backstory is the most tragic in the series..

Hats off MAPPA.

They said the line but the expression wasn't there. And any mangareader knows how important that panel was for the fandom.
I don't really complain about the anime anymore because the ending of the manga itself was.. very bad. But i don't understand when Mappa makes mistakes like that. Previous chapter they were really missing out on the Eren expressions as well.
I am also iffy with this scene bc in anime Eren looks more guilty than in "Awe". Also the dialogue was changed from "What a sight it was" to "That sight". One thing i don't understand is that this is NOT an animation error. U can clearly hear from Yuki's VAing that Eren was not in awe. Let's see how this goes.

FREAKING INSANE episode. THE RUMBLING has come and no one can say they weren't warned.
I don't have much to say regarding this episode apart from how sad Ymir's backstory was and how epic Eren's address to the Subjects of Ymir was. I am probably going to rewatch it again. I am SPEECHLESS.
The OST that played as Zeke tried to catch Eren was awesome as well. Does anyone know the name? Got it, Footsteps of Doom. Pretty appropriate sounding title.

Already destroys whatever you just said to be a downwards spiral, if you know what the term even means. If you dislike how things went, at least use a term like mixed bag, which would already be more accurate than that. Unless of course you legitimately dare to say 131 was "progressively worse and worse" than 123 up to 130, which would be actually laughable (not that they were necessarily bad either anyway, before anyone put words into my mouth).

How will I be able to live after Shingeki no Kyojin? This is the best fictional work ever made by humanity.
I don't care if things don't make any sense, love is love.

I didn't understand how Historia died in that flashback, but then she was alive again.

That backstory with Ymir was heart breaking and oh my god thankyou Mappa for showing us the extended version of Grisha vs the Founder Titan.
AND I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO WORDS FOR THAT MASTER ADAPTATION OF RUMBLING THEY DID SWEET JESUS.

Anyone else think the pacing for this episode was a little fast? Like Eren's speech to Ymir, Eren's speech to the Subjects of Ymir? I know they're obviously reshuffling things like the Marley flashback but I dunno, I felt slower pacing would make this a 10/10 episode instead of 9/10 for me personally.

This episode was so heat, I almost blacked-out upon standing up.
Mappa have been doing a good job with the Characters facial expressions recently, especially Eren's.
It's not just the art that was amazing this episode but the sound also was top tier.
Ymir's backstory was tragic and it helped to flesh her character.
She had a horrible life and I feel sorry for her.
Eren waking Ymir up after 2000 years to start the rumbling was the highlight of the episode for me.
In the end Eren gets what he wants and it so satisfying to see how much he's developed as a character while also never really changing at the same time.

The answer seems obvious if you understand the complex writing of Isayama. Ymir was obviously in love with King Fritz from the start so she let herself be used and bred by the King because love conquers all.

the world shall experience the terror of the rumbling. they did my favorite chapter just right everyone HAS to be more than satisfied. no mistakes at all no matter how hard you try to spot one. i had goosebumps all over my body more than once during this episode especially eren's transformation and ymir's daughters consuming her flesh in order to gain her powers. CGI wall titans as expected but they look insanely creepy. just another 10 out of 10 episode though I wish i could have given it more than a 10
