If you hate a character, it should be because of the way they're written or their motives or their personality. It should not be because of the fans because they do not impact the character. Very, very rarely do I see anyone mentioning or complaining about how Levi is written. It's all about the hype he gets. I've seen people say he has no development and no depth. This is not true. He had his own character route in the first half of Season 3, which was also a major highlight. You don't have a character route if you're not going to develop or even learn something. Levi's case is no different. Granted, he's not as well written as Eren, Erwin, Reiner and Zeke but he's still a really strong and complex character. He largely contributes to the story. His backstory is important to the narrative yet people are brushing that off. Is there a valid reason as to why he's so hated? With Eren and Mikasa, at least people give logical answers. With Levi, they don't. And I'd like to know why. |

| I think he's the most liked character in AOT. Personally I would've hated him if he revived Erwin instead of Armin. |

| Where do you draw the line between 'correctly rated' and 'overrated'? It is a very subjective thing. For me, levi is one of my favorite characters in aot. i dont really see a reason to hate him. His cold personality used to annoy me in the beginning but after seeing what he went through it is understandable. |
| i dont like overpowered mentors that hardly let the protagonist in on anything. this is why I dont like Dazai, kakashi, or gojo. But in general I dont think levi as a character is a horrible person, and i dont think hes horribly written. Its just my stigma towards the archetype. For me hes just meh. | Cause 95% of idiots just think he's cool and people dislike him because idiots overrate him. They actually don't know why he's just a cool character. Here's why I think he's a good character and why people shouldn't hate on him for being "just a cool character." DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN ATTACK ON TITAN AND LEVI'S OVA: A CHOICE OF NO REGRETS At first I didn't really have a favorite character of all time, but then I watch Levi's OVA; A Choice of No Regrets. I'm pretty sure that most people found Levi to be cool ever sinse he was first introduced in Attack on Titan. But I don't love him for just the fighter he is. He has the title of humanity's strongest soldier and it fits him perfectly, because he really is the best humanity has to offer. But in an ironic sense, he always fails to save the ones he cares about.  The meaning of life is constantly being questioned in a world like Attack on titan. Levi is someone who personally takes the responsibility and role of giving value and purpose to the people who've fallen. And no matter the burden he has to carry, he does so willingly. One of my favorite scenes and philosophy from Levi was in the forest scene when he told Eren to make a choice and never regret it. No one knows the outcome of battle, no one knows if he or she's decision is correct. But regretting the past only dulls one's ability to see into the future. After all, in order to see what's ahead, you have to look forward, not backwards. Levi encapsulates this philosophy perfectly. With each misstep, Levi never lashes out or falls into depravity, he simple keeps on walking forward. And while the weight of so many lives rest of his shoulders, he carries them willingly and tries to exceed their expectations. He is a perfectly imperfect character. And in season three part 2, he once again carries out the role of humanity's strongest so that the sacrifices that would soon be made, means something. Anyways, that's why Levi is my favorite anime character. I know alot of people just like him for being just cool and I know alot of people dislike him for people liking him for just simply being cool and think he's just a normie pick of a favorite character, but hopefully I changed your mind a bit that badass isn't his only trait. |

| I used to like Levi until his character was useful after certain moment he became useless and repetitive what he does fidget spinning around and yes his fans are so loud that it's annoying to see them saying how he should've been the protagonist It is sad when characters are left alive for popularity reasons... but aot tends to be influenced by that considering how much the ending suffered from fanservice to please another character fanbase sharing the same surname |

He wanted Ere to progress and become stronger. Mentors are supposed to help people, not manipulate them. all the ppl i listed did want to help the protagonist and help them grow stronger. still I think the pretentious mentor role with bad backstory is overdone |

Well, now seriously, I really don't know, I still don't think he's so hated since he's a very loved character in the fandom, although when I hear someone say they hate him, it's almost always people who don't like SNK , or because he's so overrated just for being handsome and blah blah blah. Anyway I like him because of how badass he is, I'm not saying he's a good character, I just like him, period. |
