Is just me or the animations looks like made by 10y old? Looked so bad that was super distracting to me. Every player reaction was also without heart. 0/5 animation!!! Had to watch the episode again because I couldn't follow the story... Never expected to see this quality on a successfully anime. Even Dragon Ball Super worse animations didn't dropped to this level. If you don't have time delay the anime, don't give it to a studio full of kindergarten designers.

Started this ep thinking 'how the hell they gonna beat these guys' and ended it with complete confidence that our boys will kick their asses haha Gotta say, the Tsukki-Kageyama combo was pretty awesome; they should combo more often. It made me laugh so much when the twins were bickering in the middle of the game haha

There was quite a noticeable drop in animation, but I think everyone should remember that a lot of animators have been unable to work/ work in the office due to COVID so just the fact that Production I.G managed to release this during Fall 2020 season is amazing enough!

Makes me sad... Especially since this is supposed to be the last season and they had already delayed it due to covid. They would have had enough time to even redo it. In prior seasons, you could take a screenshot and compare it to the panel for the manga and it would look near the same for any action sequence. You can't even compare for this ep. Although they did have to incorporate a lot of chapters, timing is still off to me... I hope it only gets better.

I doubt this is actually the last season, its just hard to believe but this will probably be the outlier in terms of episode quality

ok I take it back, the animation this ep felt like watching a non fight scene Black Clover lmao, wtf was up with those faces. Although I hear it was apparently outsourced so here's hoping that doesn't ever happen again

Actual episode quality was pretty nice, felt like it had all the little moments of a typical Haikyuu match

Yep, I was pretty sure watching this episode that it was probably outsourced because this ain't your Production I.G quality of animation.

God I hope this won't happen in the next episodes. This was pretty awful and the pacing felt way off.

I think I like the OP more now though.

the animation was sooooo bad I had to pause it multiple times because of how awful and distracting the animation looked. I'm so sad about this cuz the plot be really good and it gets ruined like this

the fuck!!? worst episode of the whole 4 seasons so far. one of my fav parts about haikyuu is how i can feel the characters and their expressions but everything felt lifeless and fell flat this episode. the art, animation, pacing, everything felt like shit, it felt like i wasn't watching haikyuu but rather something else. some say this was outsourced but why would Production I.G do that? isn't haikyuu one of their best selling and most popular anime? i thought they cared more about it.

anyway, couldn't stand this episode or focus on what was going at all, the horrible art and animation was so distracting...might re-watch it later with that in mind so i can focus more.

even tho haikyuu is my all time favorite anime , i knew it was far from perfect and had its flaws but i enjoyed it to the fullest with all the smiles and cry's....why do you have to ruin it like that...*sigh*...hope they return to normal next ep.

Some angles were too weird in this episode and it's a shame :( The quality is also bad.

Oh the feels XD Yamaguchi took Hinata's place for the serve. Feel bad cuz Hinata was too happy to be his turn to serve. At least it wasn't a waste and Yamaguchi did a good job ;)

I’m glad others noticed the bad animation, it was kinda funny and definitely wacky. I noticed it so much I couldn’t really pay attention to the episode. I’m upset because this episode took some really great moments from the manga and it was the worst animated haikyuu episode though.

Poor animation. Also,I haven’t read the manga but reading here that this episode covers a lot of chapters and skipped a lot of moments as well makes me kind of sad.

Thankfully I still enjoy it. Favorite so far is Tsukishima’s block and spike, Hinata’s trying to remember the blocker he hate the most, and of course Yamaguchi’s serve.

That aside, man... Yamaguchi gives me so much stress every time he's the one serving but fortunately, I'm glad he managed to overcome his panic in the end. Now let's hope he can win one or two more points for the boys.

despite the content for this episode they did Haikyuu dirty this week 6 years of getting mostly high quality animation and i don't think i've ever been disappointed in a episode for me watching this couldn't help but notice how bad it looked at times was like was this due to covid? now hearing this episode was the only one outsourced (hopefully were back to normal next week)

The first episode was really terrible. The pacing and animation were really awful in it but I think this second episode is much better, well at least in terms of pacing. Still not the degree of quality you will expect from Haikyuu though. Hope it improves in next episodes.

Wow, a really intense gameeee, just like Karasuno vs Shiratorizawa or Karasuno vs Seijoh...but what can I say is just like the Japan coach said, Karasuno is dictating the game now. So far, Inarizaki just try to read and counter it, but I believe Inarizaki is a dangerous team because even though they're just try to counter it, 70-80% they've succeed and the scary thing is they haven't show their game pattern...I don't know how long it'll be but can Karasuno hold on? Hahaha, I didn't expect the scary one man blocker will be Seijoh's boy, not Shiratorizawa's red-haired or Inuoka...and yeah the fun fact is I never watch Karasuno's number 7 plays after 4 season, hahaha, and he's a jump-float specialist, too...

after this season I will most probably be reading the manga, I mean I waited patiently in the past to get the best experience with the music the animation the voice actors, etc.
but this is just awful, I mean it feels like this episode had amazing moments but I couldn't even feel them. I just hate the new style !

Never thought I'd see bad animation during a Haikyuu episode, not that I'm disappointed, I still enjoyed the episode but couldn't help notice the drop in quality. Even though it's hopefully the one and only outsourced episode, there's no excuse for the drop in quality since this is a 2 cour season which should've gave them ample time to adapt the episode!

The scene where yamaguchi gets helped by the shimada mart guy for his 'reset signal' was a much greater deal in the manga. This episode seemed rushed with inconsistent character animations. For other episodes where there are cases like these, I have to ZOOM in to find inconsistencies like this but here it was like an open book-see-it-all.
However, no matter what or however the haikyuu team messes up, I WILL NEVER STOP LOVING IT.
PERIOD.

My personal opinion : "Nevermind the animation" .

The comic timings and tsukki punches were amazing . Kagyama and Tsukki face reading was hilarious. Quite a lot of comic punches in the episode. The twins trying to calm each other , hinata pulling up the game with his blocking , team synchronized attack and added flavour of tsukki getting to stop a quick attack.

Sadly I was hoping they would finish the first set but looks like we need to wait for another episode to know the results of the first set.

I didn't actually notice the animation and art at first because I was pretty excited for this episode! I found some examples in some comments though and the art really is bad once you look at it. I still managed to enjoy the episode despite there being many flaws.

I haven't read the manga up to this part but I did notice something wrong with the pacing with the scenes. A lot of stuff was coming up and I assumed it was simply on purpose but apparently more chapters than usual were adapted into this episode? Perhaps they should've taken more care and time with some scenes. Time to read the manga I suppose.

haikyuu do be struggling huh. Having an episode outsourced is fine to me. Yeah off-models and unpolished animation due to scheduling disasters, but it's not a game breaker unless it happens frequently. What concerns me though is that some people say that they adapted 7 chapters.. is that true? That is really concerning.

the art was the worst for kageyama & atsumu this episode, it was so inconsistent, are they not used to drawing the miya twins or something, ugh. nevermind how flat everything looks, nevermind the animation, at least get the characters right, all their proportions really threw me off -__-

I was really disappointed when they made the hinata blocking scene so God damn impactful, it was so much better and I got so hyped in the manga, while this anime adaptation just makes the scene so forgettable, and the characters are looks weird, they skipped a lot of parts in the manga so the pacing is kinda bad, hope they fix this next episode :(
