Big oof for Michiru lmao, reality hit her hard. I hope she can finally see how much self centered she is tbh. I've started to like her and I hope she doesn't stay a naive brat till the end. Also it's sad Nazuna has become like this but I still liked her.

Michiru can be so fucking annoying sometimes... Yet at other times I do feel sorry for her...

Honestly I don't get it tho, why she doesn't just go back to being a human and live in the human world? If they were gonna give her the ability to become a human again, they should've given it to her near the end of the series as to not create such a huge plot hole... It just comes off as bad writing. She clearly didn't like beastmen at first, so why she now changed her mind, conveniently after she got the ability to become a human again? Plot convenience... That's all it is... And they made it way too obvious.

I'm a bit contrived on this anime. I like it but I can't shake off this feeling of some... Erm, Tumblr forces at work here. Sometimes it feel like I'm watching Steven Universe, if you catch my drift.

I don't think it's any coincidence that both Michiru and Nazuna are beings who can shapeshift when it comes to Japanese mythology.
But dang, ouch. Hopefully they make up as friends.

More episodes when???

Seriously though- I'm addicted to this series. Really nice pacing, great music, old skool character archtypes...

I have a feeling that Michiru and her friend were given something while they were in the hospital after the accident and THAT'S why they turned into beasts.

I'm starting to wonder about this weird "accident" the two had in the past together. Maybe it ties into the fact that they have became beastmen? Maybe they got put into some sketchy program where they were experimented on without their knowledge. It could be totally possible especially with how much they are emphasizing this accident. Loving this series so far though, the plot is great, fast paced, but still perfect.

Michiru was kind of dumb, trusting Nazuna too easily. :(

I'm guessing the reason they turned into beastmen is because of the surgery that took place after they got hit by truck-san.

Nazuna's introduction gave me gurren lagan vibes;
"Your dreams are my dreams"

The theme music of Nazuna reminds me of Scanty and Kneesocks brilliant theme song "I want you".

This episode is such a nice sharp contrast to the last one (with baseball). I like the tought of Nazuna and that she's more sophisticated than Michiru. I hope the anime will continue to take such daring twists.

If this anime ends with being 12-13 eps only I'm gonna be disappointed, the premise looks like it need to be explored / dug for more episodes, with some plot-twists by the end marking Trigger's fingerprint.

Cults are always a bad thing. I don't think Nazuna is either evil or brainwashed though, at least not at a high degree. She's been wanting to be an idol even before this whole ordeal happened, and now that she became one she's obviously not going to give that dream up.

Also, she may not be brainwashed but she is certainly being manipulated by the creepy one. She did give me a bad vibe at the end, but any of her words were wrong, Michiru is kinda egocentric, that is not new, and she is really naive.

Dunno, my vote here goes for Nazuna, though I do hope she snaps out of it and realizes that she is in a f*cking CULT, but anywho, good episode.

(Also, I really want to see Michiru shapeshifting as she does in the OP, cuz that looks nuts)

Finally put some time aside to witness this yet another masterpiece by GTrigger. I do pray every theme present is evident to the viewers, but just in case, just for this episode:
Nazuna always wanted to become an idol, but said "I do not want to be chosen". Now she is doing the bidding of an old guy who is making her charm the crowds of animals (Asian idol industry in one sentence). The guy is also, surprise, a snake. Snakes are betraying and lying, and it is clear Boris is using Nazuna to his own ends. It is possible he was the one who orchestrated the kidnapping in the first place. Might or might not be a human agent sent to cause havoc in the beastmen city.

Nazuna herself, however, is a sly fox. Her pride is apparent and she will not accept being a pawn, eventually setting Boris aside (violently too) and instead take the reins into her own hands, with her own vision of what the beastmen society should be. It might be implied that Nazuna was trying to commit suicide when she was walking into the truck with closed eyes, as she accuses Michiru of "always pushing her own intentions on others", slightly alluding to that, maybe, she did not want to be saved.

After the incident, both of them were experimented upon (because they would have not survived otherwise, possibly) and both of them manifested as a brand new kind of animal, which can transform itself way past its species limitations.

Where does the Sylvasta Alan fit in it... In a different way than the villain would, maybe?

This is just this particular episode, this series is once again rich in social critique, philosophy and fundamental ideas of psychological and universal nature.

Didn't expect Michiru to find Nazuna that quickly. I like the little comparison between idols and cult gurus heh I have such mixed feelings on Nazuna. Both Michiru and Nazuna make good points. Nazuna clearly has all the attention go to her head though but at least she has some good intentions and strong ambitions although deceitful.

If you don't have what it takes to become an idol, just get worshipped by a cult instead. Well, these things are more or less the same, I guess.

Didn't expect that we would meet Nazuna under these circumstances.

Anyway, interesting episode again, another element was added to the story.

Now everything gonna be complicated for Michiru. Nazuna characters now got revealed too, with her ability to change to another kind of animal somehow amazed me. Yet, the kidnap of Nazuna events clears to be as some kind of experimental dissaster to her. Unfortunately, the arcs got separated in the next episodes to see how Michiru can solved this complex problems of friendship. Despite how naives Michirus egoism and personality, i like this show with its fantasy world of beastmen, to the max.

An episode of a completely different kind, compared to the previous one, which I really like, not that I didn't like the self-contained one, but now that the main plot has started to move again, the anime series returns to its initial splendor. Excellent narration and good comic brackets scattered throughout the entire episode. I await the next episode with extreme interest.

Some part of me wants to think Nazuna is just being extorted or manipulated because becoming the guru of a shady-as-fuck cult just because it's similar to being an Idol must be one of the most stupid reasons I've heard in a while.

OK episode overall. Since the beginning, Michiru has been acting like a naive and reckless idiot so I'm really glad someone finally call her out about it. Hopefully, Nazuna's critics of her behaviour will finally make her start growing as a character.

We all knew from the beginning that Nazuna was going to betray her, the problem with Michiru is just that, she jumps too early, she trusts very fast and even disturbed Rose’s privacy. The scene before the cult arrived was a complete mess. Sometimes Michiru is too innocent, the twist that the show gave to Nazuna wasn’t bad, I just expected not to be revealed in 1 episode, I feel kinda sad for Michiru and her deceptions.

This episode felt a little bittersweet, honestly. ^_^;

It was pretty nice to see Michiru reunite with her best friend, Nazuna, who is now part of a cult that worships Ginrou. For a while, seeing these two girls getting to know each other again after a long time, but that reunion would pave the way for uncertainly very quickly.

The cult itself is properly dodgy, though. Aside from Nazuna praising her saviour, Boris, who is the leader of the cult, we don't know much else about him, although the scene where he grabs Nazuna's face the way he did makes him look so suspicious. Micihru was right to not trust him at all.

Despite that, Nazuna's full intentions were laid out for all of us to see. Anima city welcomes all beastmen, but playing on Ginrou the way that the cult were doing was disrespectful in Mayor Rose's eyes. In the end, I think she will let them in.

Afterwards, Nazuna didn't hesitate in leaving Michiru speechless about her own habits and picks at her faults without hesitation. This certainly proves that the way she is now, Michiru has no chance of saving Nazuna right now. Nazuna's dream of being an "idol" has come true, in her eyes, and she certainly doesn't seem too bothered by how she used Michiru's good intentions to her own personal advantage. I do applaud Michiru at the end by declaring that she's friends with Nazuna, not the cult idol that she has fallen to.

In the end, this should give Michiru a good platform for some personal character development. Her ways of solving things has been decently successful so far, but she does need to change her ways a bit if she really wants to save Nazuna from the dodgy cult.

Great episode overall. =)

Michiru "I wanna be human again." Also Michiru "I'm more comfortable as a beastmen." Man she's dumb. Also not a great friend. Trying to force what she wants onto her friend thinking she's doing the right thing instead of being happy for her or at least giving it a shot. Look I get the cult stereotypes, and this show is definitely not clever enough to do a twist where the "cult" turns out the be just a harmless church. That still doesn't stop me from hoping it would be that way.

Damn, things just keep getting messier by the episode.

Nazuna has clearly let the whole idol=guru thing over her head, possibly from some manipulation from the reptile (snake, I'm guessing) priest.

I've been hearing how the second half branches off to become too rushed and whatnot, but here's to hoping that'll not bother me too much.

Let me guess, Shirou is the real Ginrou? (don't actually answer that)
Well, he is op either way but the way he spoke about those offerings seemed to hint at him being the god. There was also that one time he jumped off a building and survived basically without injuries.

Years of friendship destroyed all because Nazuna let being the leader of some cult go to her head. A true fox she is for tricking Michiru which is pretty sad for her.
Knowing they got into an accident with Truck-kun, I'm pretty sure the place where they were treated at was the place where they were turned into artificial beastmen.
