Shino got a 28 on her test, but was one question away from passing? Is a 30 passing? @_@

I'm not sure what to rate this. It felt pretty much on par with the rest of the series, but it was much, much lighter on the comedy. And, while the backstory was wholesome and what not, I was really hoping for more hijinks and less drama. Just, in general, the setup was odd. I have no idea why Aya felt discouraged about her friendship with Shinobu. At no point has Shino come across as anything but loyal and earnest.

The closest thing I found to being humorous was Karen adlibbing and becoming a ninja during the play. But really, even that felt like the movie just didn't know what to do with itself after telling the backstory and just started throwing ideas out there. Anything goes, roll credits.

Hopefully the newest movie is more comedy-forward.

Disappointing. Now I adore the series, practically my fave CGDCT show of all, and I love Aya as well, but this just didn't do it for me.

The whole backstory stuff wasn't very interesting, and it didn't need to spend 75% of the time on it. The last 10-15 minutes with the play was great, so they should've focused on that and the actual festival. In fact, they should've just done another musical story/play like the finale to the 1st season.

"What happened to my ideal Japanese woman?" I didn't know in order to be considered one, you have to avoid energy drinks. According to Alice, at least. To be fair, they are kinda unhealthy if you drink too much.

Aya shouldn't worry since I think she's closer to Youko than Youko being close to Shinobu. Although to be fair, Shinbou is really close to Alice and Karen. And Karen's just close to everyone.

"I think she looks normal." Damn, Karen. Lol. And she didn't even place the manga book down properly.

I think sailor uniforms had their origins in the West/Europe. So I guess it makes sense that Alice and Karen would look nice in those in a roundabout sorta way.

I think this is the 1st time we actually get to see their school's name? Which is kinda funny since this anime is usually set there. And apparently it's a public school?

Kuzehashi appears as a character in the flashback segment, but she doesn't appear in the 1st season. I wouldn't call in a plot-hole, though. Just thought that was kinda interesting.

I guess since Alice and Karen aren't present in the flashback part, which the show's gimmick is that Shinobu likes blonde girls the movie/OVA decided to have more plot. I'd also say Aya is the highlight here. But yeah, since Shinobu and Alice are already an "established" duo it doesn't feel like they'd have developments that aren't subtle. Whereas Aya's are more noticeable which this movie shows. And I get it that this is primarily a slice of life show.

Shinobu really said "maybe the true gift I could give you is our friendship we made along the way." But yeah, why'd she lead them on? Lol. And it's even sillier since she left the house and Youko was able to talk about their past.

Why'd they ruin Shinobu's play like that? Lol. Well, at least it turned out alright at the end. I guess the in universe reason why the play "had to be ruined" is because it doesn't fit the run time of the movie?

Pretty alright movie. I'd say it's on-par with the rest of the series, but this and the 2nd season's finale are better. I have said that the 2nd season's finale felt like it could have a more "finale feeling." Which to be fair this movie came after that. But yeah, I feel the same this time.

There is a 2021 Kiniro Mosaic movie, and looking at the synopsis that seems to be the proper send-off to this franchise. Still, that and this movie have a 5 year gap. Meaning that this was the send-off before 2021.

This movie truly showed the "heart of Japan, heart of Wa."

Great movie. I loved the backstory.

That play was so random and hilarious with all the ad-libbing.

Alice and Karen looked cute in those middle school uniforms. Shino was completely in love, haha.

Princess Shino. <3 She always has such a beautiful dresses.
