Goddamn the OP and visuals was awesome!
I'm glad that they chose the song that already exists.
Can't wait to see more of Oda's and Toyohisa's badassery.

Great episode, great OP. In my opinion the series has already outdone the OVA in terms of quality, which is quite rare.

Don't this I've ever seen a more violent episode of any anime (not seen Hellsing though). Really enjoying this. The animation was allot more fluid this week after the clunky opening battle of last weeks episode. I'm really interested to see how this develops.

So how is "it's the same style of humor as in Hellsing Ultimate" supposed to be a defense? It was bad there and it's bad here.

Anyway, this was definitely better than the first episode, but still didn't do much for me. I'd say it's not my type of show but I loved Hellsing Ultimate so...
I think it's just built around much less compelling elements and the execution is not good enough to elevate the silly material into camp status, so the show just feels really stupid and leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

The comedy bits are weird, but pretty similar to what I've seen in some other shows so I don't mind it at all.

That violence though, man was it animated amazingly. Definitely sticking with this show, the art style's already grown on me.

Really enjoyed the OP. ED is still growing on me though.

Any worries I had about the violence not being able to match that of Hellsing Ultimate was pretty much faded away during the village battle. Toyohisa didn't hesitate once in beating the living shit out of the snobbish commander.

Not only that, but he gave the elves a chance to kill the commander and avenge their fallen friends. The comedy remains a bit out of place, but it's still funny though. Hellsing Ultimate was like that too.

Not only was that battle really brutal and thrilling, their was heavy tension with the 'Gods' who sent the drifters to where they are now. A potential battle between these two looks to me inevitable.

Overall, this episode was excellent. =)

I thought the opening was going to be [Feel It], hope they're going to save it for an insert song hopefully.

Next episode will be the test to see if the animation can stand up to these 2. And also pretty unexpected to see Yamaguchi in the opening, didn't think the show would get to that point at this pace

tfw the director has insisted on such a perfect adaptation that he didn't have enough sense to take those parts out. It kind of works for the manga, as they're just panels, but I agree, not here.

Drifters does everything I imagined this anime to do — from the first episode, the Hellsing Ultimate vibes were unreal, but I did not expect any less with the people involved. The soundtrack is incredible; I adore the jazzy and bluesy elements, actually these instantly reminded me of Cowboy Bebop, which cannot be a bad thing, no? With how high Hellsing Ultimate has risen in my standings, I can easily see this title ending up on my favourites list.

Also, Easy looks an awful lot like the female interpretation of Alucard.

i wish they would get rid of the stupid chibi comedy, it's not funny and it keeps killing the mood. Even Yoichi bragging about her age was funnier.

Despite that it was a pretty good episode. Great fight scenes in this episode; Toyohisa killing the soldiers and forcing the elves to get revenge on the general was absolutely brutal XD. Good to see hints of a more overarching plot starting to develop so it'll be interesting to see how it all plays out.

I'll definitely stick around for this series.

Imagine my surprise when I heard Minutes til Midnight playing! If anyone watched Shameless, you'd know what I'm talking about. Glad to see this band get recognized internationally as well. That song fit the OP so god damn well and definitely got me hyped.

This was a pretty violent episode and also very badass. We even get to see Easy interacting with Murasaki.

Nobunaga is the devil and I love it. There's a reason why he's one of the most popular historical character ever. The man is a maniacal emperor!

Yoichi is too adorable and awesome. When he revealed he was 19 that face he made was great. Wish we could see more action out of him though, he's definitely my favorite character in this series/manga.

Toyohisa is a legit boss.

I seriously can not fucking wait to see Nobunaga talk to Olmine. =D

Honestly this series got my whole interest when I saw 3samurais/warriors from different times together, I couldn't care less about the stupid comedy I can easily ignore that the same way I ignore trolls through the internet.

Also seeing people complaining about the weird comedy, I guess Hellsing Ultimate is not as famous as I thought.

I guess the people who don't appreciate this kind of comedy haven't watched Gintama

Gonna have to stop you there, gintama is my favorite anime and is fucking hilarious even when you don't get the specific references. Cause usually, the situation or pure clever writing of the joke shine through anyway. Drifters on the other hand doesn't... at all.

This episode was leaps and bounds better than the first in every respect. The writing was better, the voice actors were less cringy (they see to have gotten more comfortable in their roles), the animation was smoother, and the pacing was significantly more uniform. More on the animation, everything seemed a lot crisper and of higher quality than the first episode. I'm getting a Hellsing Ultimate vibe which is definitely contributing positively to the experience. Compared to last episode where I came out of it underwhelmed and extremely disappointed I am quite interested in seeing where this goes.

My god the lame ass comedy is even worse than Hellsing's. Ruining good episode such as this.

More battle scenes please, it's the best thing this anime has to offer.

Hopefully there are more Drifters to be shown other than those three

Definitely an improvement on the first episode...thinking I might stick around to see what else these crazy guys do! The comedy actually made me giggle this time around too.

This episode was basically "how to claim your neighbouring village for dummies" and I enjoyed the hell outta it. The way Toyohisa utterly destroyed that general dude and then convinced all the villagers to kill him was brutal af.
+1 for the lack of censorship- it was completely shocking and unexpected prolly because I've been conditioned by Jojo censoring.

The music was damn brilliant too, although I think I still slightly prefer the ending to the opening...both are awesome though!!

Second episode is definitely better than the first one. It was pretty much the second half of the OVA, but it was still great to see. Shimazu just wrecked that guy's face with the sheath of his sword. I especially love the OP. It is so awesome. Looking forward to what happens next.

I didn't care for the opening but I liked the episode.
I wonder if the magicians know or have some understanding of Murasaki and Easy.
That even if the Drifters do not do anything it doesn't matter because their very existence causes Easy's hand leading to chaos.
They did a good job showing the relationship between Mursaki and Easy without exposition.
Some of the humour is kind of over my head, I might need a crash course in Japanese history or something.

Okay I think I'm going to like this for all that gore and violence. These guys are pretty brutal. The elves were under attack and Toyohisa sliced apart all those attackers. I liked how he threw his sword at the commander and then threw himself at him and then started to hit his head with the sheath of his sword. That last part was pretty brutal. And then he had the elves finish him off because it was their revenge. And the Octoberists are the one who maintain the Drifters sent in by the weird glasses guy and are working for Easy. And it's a fight between Easy and that glasses guy for whatever reason. The comedy felt a bit better here because it was more well placed than in the last episode. If anything, I think all that violence might keep me here.
