I may be wrong, but Nanami gives me so many "Ultimate Hope" vibes that I cannot imagine her demise being anything other than death. Becoming an Ultimate Despair would be a waste of character imo. It would be like Kirigiri killing Naegi in Future Arc to escape her NG code.

I can somehow see what you mean in that way, it's more like being weird, so I'm just gonna go and sit through and see how it goes from there, at least for me.

That was painful. Literally. First Nanami gives yet another cringe-worthy speech that doesn't suit her at all, then the ultimate bitch keeps ruining the world with her disgusting existence. Really now, you go Juzo. Punch the bitch, send her to space or the trash can where she belongs, but that won't happen, obviously.
sigh, couldn't they just listen to Komaeda for once and sit back. Maybe they could've avoid the falling into despair by watching a live-action Corpse Party video. Now the result is well known,it's the Despair Side after all.

That Chisa torture was horrible, and now she's gone for good too. sigh
If something happens to Gundam or his zodiac generals I'm gonna punch something. Also I'm wondering why the SHSL Impostor has the same voice as Togami. In the game he had a different voice than Togami for a quick moment, implying his real identity.

I always say it and I'll never stop. PROTECT MITARAI 2K16, he only wanted to make anime. He didn't deserve any of this

Oh God, Nanami just sent all of her classmates to their demise and she's in deep shit herself seeing how Yukizome OBVIOUSLY has been brainwashed by Mukuro Ikusaba (which also means that Yukizome may or may not be the one behind the murders in Mirai-hen)

I actually thought that the speech from Nanami was fine, but albeit I guess I don't really find it cringe-worthy. And of course since we know Juzo is not going to beat Junko up to shit in Mirai-hen, it seems less likely for him to beat her to shit here if we already know.

xD I think everyone would be mad if something else happens, but then again, this is Despair Arc... so its obvious we're going to get some pain ;_;

Yes, I think it's wiser to put aside our expectations since Kodaka will make his priority to stomp all over our hopes. :D

Everything gets more and more gruesome and horrible and we're watching despair cruising to victory knowing where it will lead. That in itself is a valid reason to get "pissed off".

Weird seeing Komaeda actually become the Only Sane Man for a moment (even if it was an act) before Chiaki rallied the class to their doom.

We're almost down to inevitability now with the Chisa revelation. Only Chiaki's fate is still ambiguous (though it's obviously not looking good, she trusts Chisa too much for this to end well). The rest of the 77th is doomed because Mikan's probably just leading them straight into a trap.

Definitely want to see how things shake out in Future now, and this would certainly explain Munakata's post-mortem stabbing of Chisa.

Didn't Chisa realized izuru as hinata? Even after being brainwashed by mukuro, chisa called him as a long haired boy..

Chisa's torture reminds me to deadman wonderland.. even her eyes forced to be opened ._. And for the first time in this episode I preferred to approve juuzo's action :P

Sad about what will happen to 77th class, all because of Junko =="
Also poor Mitarai, all what he wanted was to make an anime.

So..Chisa will be the one to kill Chiaki combine it with the video brainwash technique...Both Chisa and Chiaki are the hopes of the 77th class one killing the other would be incredibly tragic and shocking for them.

I feel sooo bad for Mitarai the thing that he thinks is gonna help people now is going to cause the tragedy..And the way he tried to escape for his life was just heartbreaking.I hope he plays a major role in the future arc to defeat the mastermind unless he is the mastermind ofc bruh.

So the anime man is gonna die next in the Future arc i assume. prolly gonna do something decent in his final breath.

honestly, something else i realize w/ all this development is that he has the ability to change someone entire mindset w/ his hypo-abilities. I assume the reason his hypno-anime didn't work on Junko was cause it wasn't finished. He could prolly cut a video of people living life and reverse the effects of his video from before... sad he prolly never got the chance too.

I adore how juicy this show is, gotta watch it once again when the uncensored version is out. The neck cutting scene was a touch disappointing because of how obnoxiously extensive the censor-shadow-thing was.

Still, it feels great to see all the steps before the massivest brainfuck in history finally happens and knowing just how badly this is all going to end actually adds to the watching experience, IMO.

While there was nothing as gruesome as the killing game in episode 7, I'd say this is the first episode that really affected me emotionally. The episode started off in an uncomfortable place and graduated to being horrifying as it went on.

I really like the contrast between the loving smile that Chisa flashed at the beginning of the episode and the clearly evil one at the end. So heartbreaking!

That title at the end is weird. Not sure what it means.

After this, I'm more convinced than ever that Chisa is alive in the despair arc and may or may not be pulling the strings.

Nooo stop messing with Cutie Sensei's brain!

I was hoping that my gift from Dangan Ronpa 3 would reveal that Chiaki is alive. She is best girl.

Damn it Junko. It is pretty clear that Cutie Sensei will murder Chiaki in front of the whole class. I will not forgive her for killing Chiaki.

Ugh now I have to think of the implications this will have on the Future Arc.

Poor Chisa. That torture scene was kinda hard to watch and hearing the sounds of her brain being re-arranged like that was a bit disturbing.

Stay the fuck away Junko! Don't touch Chiaki!

And now Chiaki is with Chisa. I wonder what's going to happen with her next. Every week I just feel more and more scared for Chiaki.

This is what I love about these two series playing at the same time. You get to see what happens in the past and develop more theories for the Future Arc. Is Chisa truly brainwashed and if she was, did you play a role in helping the attacker instigate the Final Killing Game? Did Chisa sacrifice herself for despair and let herself be killed? Who knows. All I know is that my mind says Chiaki is most likely dead, but my heart says she somehow survives. If she does survive, does that mean she might be the one behind the Future Arc killings? Again, who knows and that's the beauty of having the two series play in the same week of each other.

Well, I'm officially on board with this whole brainwashing thing. It's way more interesting than I thought it would be and actually makes a lot more sense than Junko slowly mentally breaking everyone like I thought. The brainwashing doesn't actually change their personalities, instead by inserting those rods into their brains, it actives pleasure senors while watching the video of the student council murdering each other. This in turn makes their minds associate death and despair with pleasure, and there's nothing they can do to resist the urge. I honestly like this a lot more than the other theory. I've never really bought that the DR2 cast would fall to despair simply by Junko breaking them mentally. Characters like Gundham and Nekomaru are both simply too strong willed and would never break that easily. But Junko messing with their minds to make them associate despair with pleasure? Yeah, I can get behind that.

This episode made me want to hurl multiple times. The suicide scene, Junko turning Chisa... I thought DR: Another Episode was disturbing, but this was insane! Junko was hilarious when she first showed up in Despair Arc, but now I can't even look at the witch without feeling nauseous.

I want to hold on to a bit of hope that Chisa somehow endured, but that sure as heck looked like Junko's smile at the end. Or maybe Kodaka's trying to fake us out again and Izuru really did let her go. I find it highly unlikely, but you can rarely take things at face value in Danganronpa.

Aaand it looks like we're going to get a Juzo vs. Junko scene. I know Juzo is not going to kill/capture her, but I hope he at LEAST beats the bloody she-devil black and blue. It'd be nice to see him put his fists to good use for a change, and it would be equally nice to see Junko suffer again - even if she enjoys it.

Also, in spite of all of the signs that seem to point to it, I'm not buying the idea that Chiaki is the mastermind in the future arc, nor Chisa. Chiaki is WAY too obvious - it's something people have been theorizing since they knew she was going to be in DR3. Besides, if Chiaki WERE a member of Ultimate Despair, she'd have jumped on board Izuru's "let Junko possess us" plan with the others.

Chisa would be a prime candidate if there weren't three episodes of each arc left: it's far too soon to go revealing that sort of thing. In both of the "normal" games, there was no way in heck you could guess that Junko was still alive/Hajime was Izuru until the final chapter. I see no reason to go calling the race when a full third of the series remains.

Anyway, enough of that. I need to go watch/play something stupidly bright and cheery to offset all of this despair.
Important Note: I no longer - in any way, shape, or form - consider myself a moral nihilist (even in my old, convoluted definition of the term). I very much do believe there is such a thing as objective good and evil. In addition, I apologize for any of the posts I've made that are rude, aggressive, or otherwise unbecoming.

I've always striven to walk a path befitting a follower of Christ, and now recognize some of my old comments here as misguided if not outright wrong. If you happen upon them, pray do not let them darken your view of the God I serve. He is kind, even if I, at times, have not been.

Pretty upsetting and awkward seeing Chiaki basically lead everyone to their doom by accident -_-'''. Yes Chiaki, I never got how his hair changed that much so fast either.

Dammit. Junko is the kind of antagonist you really love to hate and want to see get destroyed but that just means the creator done a good job of making a villain. The thing I don't get is, even if they did fall into despair I doubt they'd all just follow Junko's orders and whatnot. I mean, some of them would still wanna kill her in despair mode too. I suppose that could be part of the whole brain washing thing though. Chisa's smile reminded me of Junko there. I'm scared for Chiaki.

I love how Izuru finds everything happening boring. I wonder if he ever did manage to get any enjoyment out of despair... I don't think anything would've made a difference. Unless we see it over the next few eps lol.

To all those disappointed with the brainwashing...
What did you expect? This is the only reasonable way to make the hope of 77th class turn that way. They are completely mad, wrecking havoc all over the world as spawns of satan. Ryota is the one experiencing true despair with no brainwashing involved, and he isn't mass murdering anyone.

Plus, this way it removes all the guilt from the actions of the 77th class as ultimate despairs.

The Ultimate Despair using the incredible analysis, creativity, cunning, and depravity that she's known for to knock even the most hopeful people down. The same way she (almost) did in the game. If not for Hajime overcoming it all, that would have been a whole new descent for them.
