I don't agree with you there, though Furuya is the type of character you like or dislike I think it was a good idea of the mangaka to make him a main character too. Sawamura's and his personality contrast nicely so they both highlight the each others good/bad points. I enjoy Sawamura's screen time even more because it's not always obvious he's going to help the team or even be useful, as is the case with Furuya. He also has a completley different pitching style so it's nice to see how they use both of them in a game according to their strengths. I personally like Furuya a lot, it's nice to see him warming up to the team and trying to become a real team player instead of doing everything solo. His history in baseball is exactly the opposite of Sawamura and I think it's touching to see him finally being accepted by people who love the game just as much as he does, for the first time in his life. His character development is a little more subtle and more quiet than Sawamura's but it fits his personality as well as it adds a little something to the serie, it gives it more dynamic instead of it focussing solely on one main character. True, Furuya doesn't talk much out loud but I think his inner monologues show enough emotion/passion, he doesn't need to be as (obnoxiously) loud as someone like Sawamura to convey his thoughts/explain his actions. It would get pretty annoying and tiring if there were 2 types like Sawamura running around in the show, right? :) |

| Nice pitching Sawamura I where waiting for long time *yes finally!* and furuya did a great job there. I didn't expect that move from him which wasn't good thing even though he wanted to fight till the end. |

| ugh when everyone went up to the mound I just knew Furuya was going to get yelled at :< That stubborn adorable. But overall the switch out was nice. Sawamura and the rest of the team may not have said their thoughts to him, but the feelings still got through. I can relate to Furuya quite a bit so I like him a lot. Sawamura on the other hand would be more likable if he didn't yell all the time >_> I love watching him pitch though. Partially because he's quieter c: |

| I was so close to outright crying twice, the first was when Furuya wouldn't let go of the ball and the second was when Eijun got an out without allowing a runner. I was rooting the hardest I've ever rooted for anyone in this episode, and for Furuya of all people I would expect... He's definitely one of my favorite characters in this show, can't figure out why though. I was yelling his name over and over in my head when he tried so hard for the team's sake despite being very tired and worn out from the heat. I felt Furuya's pain of not wanting to give the ball over. I haven't been this fired up from this show since... I'm not sure, I just know that these past few episodes were really exciting. I thought that Eijun would definitely screw up the whole time - you have proved me wrong, my son. Just kidding, Eijun's not my son. (It's Furu) |

| While cool having monster pitcher Furuya, he's nowhere as entertaining to see compared to Eijun where I don't know what crazy antic is coming next from him on the mound (like throwing too high to first base). |

Oh my gosh, Eijun is going in? Well with those type of throws he’s definitely getting tired more quickly Let’s go Eijun!!! Are you kidding me? Why are they always making him do a mistake in the beginning of every game he does. YES!! FINALLY EIJUN GOOD JOB! I’m so happy for him 😭 |
