That fight was not as explosive as I thought it would be. Guess the OP shows it well. Brian Hawk fight was the best shit I've seen in Hajime no Ippo.

All of Takamura's big fights are epic and this is no exception. It definitely pumped me up. However, nothing holds a candle to Takamura's fight against Bryan Hawk in the 2nd season. That is still the golden standard in Hajime no Ippo. Bar none. I put Ippo's fight against Sawamura as the second best fight to that.

I love the relationship between Kamogawa and Takamura :)

When the doctor wanted to stop the fight and then Takamura and Eagle roared the crowd to keep it going. Man, that was awesome.

With 4 episodes left, I hope it doesn't get too boring, since they probably don't have enough episodes for anything major.

Takamura always gave his best performance in every single match he has been in. Not anywhere near as great as the battle of Hawk though. Eagle was too much of a nice champion imo. Weak build up as well, great fight nonetheless.

I think that's kind of the point. Eagle is very honorable and a much more fair competitor, but that's why Takamura won. The point is that Takamura will stop at nothing to win, which makes him a better champion than Eagle. Eagle let his morals blind him. That's not to say Takamura is a bad guy, but he's only in it for himself and his gym. If you look at it like D&D alignments, Eagle would be Lawful Good, Takamura would be chaotic neutral, and Hawk would be chaoitic evil.

I disagree. There is no sense in Takamura hitting him perfectly in the head at the end just by seeing his feet. Eagle is a honorable person AND a better fighter. Takamura winning this is pushing too much, Takamura should lose at least one and this was a "perfect losable fight".

Great end to a great fight. People seriously need to stop complaining that it wasn't as good as the Hawk fight though. Yes, everyone gets that was the best fight in the series and nothing can top it. Just stop whining.

I also really like Eagle as a character. Was just an all around nice guy and took the loss like a man. Also, no bullshit drama about needing to provide for his family or something.

Now that Takamura's got 2 belts, I'm guessing the story won't focus on him as much in the near future. Another title fight this soon would feel pretty redundant

Good fight, but wasn't nearly as amazing as the Hawk fight.
I seriously thought Takamura would die in that fight, but this one it was pretty obvious that he was gonna win.

I don't like that kind of a win it this wan't like the fight with Hawk, the whole match was rushed not enough character development and that dirty headbutt was the most unexpected thing, I can now see why this season has less rating than the previous season.

That was a pretty great match, thought it was a gonna get more bloodier than Takamura's fight with Bryan, I'm bittersweet that I was kinda wrong.

That was a great fight and Eagle was a perfect boxer and a respectable man, unlike Hawk. Kind of hard to believe how Takamura could do a comeback in his shape but I guess that just can happen in an anime :Z
Takamura with 2 belts already in 2 dif categories. Wondering if the author is really going to have him get all 5 belts or if I'm going to see him lose at some point. I prefer the latter as it would be a good development for his character.
Love his relationship with Kamogawa by the way.

Gonna be honest here, I liked this fight way more than the Hawk fight! I liked that one too, but this felt much more exciting and interesting. Takamura is a freaking boss, being able to beat the shit out of the champion while being blind! This new Hajime no Takamura is pretty much as exciting as the good old Hajime no Ippo.

Damn even blind Takamura is still a beast. He got his second belt, a step closer to conquering all six weight classes.

Under different circumstances it would've been hard to root for Takamura. In this case it's just a stepping stone for him.

Still respect for a Eagle, he's a very likeable character, even tho it's not necessarily sportsmanship, but rather his ego and his desire to prove himself that drove him.

The two fighters not letting their bloody injuries stop them from fighting was a very manly moment indeed!

Takamura's trained for so long that the right moves have been ingrained into his body just like that, damn.

That scene where Takamura handed over his championship belts to Kamogawa like he promised was a really powerful moment and the latter calling the former the best son he ever had sprung a tear in the corner of my eye~

that was hell of match.
the only thing missing for me from hawk match is, erm, violence, lol. just felt that takamura had little more trail and error against hawk. oh well, he fought well against eagle.

and yeah, coach x takamura are nice father and son.

Well of course the Japanese Mary Sue of boxing isn't going to lose in the Japanese boxing manga... The only time I was actually interested in a Takamura fight was when the author made his opponent so absurdly unlikeable that just about anybody would want to see his ass get beat.

I wanted Eagle to win and show that Takamura is not invincible. In my opinion it would be nice to see Takamura face some adversity of having a loss, but I guess his character is supposed to show Ippo the perfect boxer. I still enjoyed the episode though, and the season so far.

I didn't like this episode. Perhaps this is because I already understood in advance that Takamura would win and how he would do it, and therefore I was bored and absolutely not interested in watching it. It was too predictable, when Takamura began to fall on the ropes, I immediately realized that there would be a counterpunch.

Takamura-san is incredibly strong. This man has so much boxing experience that he can fight a guy just by seeing his feet !!!
He boxes instinctively because he was training a million times. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING !!!
おつかれ ! 👏👏👏
