We are waiting for the third season of this masterpiece. I hope the manga can get to the point where we can see another season of the anime. I hope Ichikawa goes to high school for geniuses.

I would say that was a nearly perfect adaptation for the most part, the budding romance was consequently progressed with lots of sweet moments and some more or subtle fanservice. I was quite impressed that the people working on it were able to keep the quality of the narration on a very high level.
The anime managed to show their growing romantic relationship with a comfortable pace.

In the last quarter the story got sidetracked a lot by the fear of getting exposed as a couple in the class, what totally annoyed me, it was just painful to watch .
They even were more desperate to hide any signs of a closer relationship than in the old class. What is the big idea when everyone knew it from the start.
Surely the idea of getting set in the spotlight as a couple is deadly embarrassing for teenagers at this age, but hey they actually should be happy to have eachother.

Fortunately they didn't completely forget what the show is all about, the small moments between the two of them,
still that was often paired with several distracting events, that ruined the atmosphere in my opinion.

We got a sweet confession, but even that was partially sidetracked by Anna's teenage actor career.
I give a shit about Anna being a model, actor or a damn astronaut, it's just an insanely silly plot device since the beginning.

Aside from all the dsistractive stuff I had a lot of fun watching that, it has adorable characters, relateable dialogs and actions.
Anna's family was fun, Ichikawas's family was fun, especially Kana is the best big sister.

@Fabienne bro you know that yamada is an actor & model so you should understand why they keep hiding their relationship from the public & their friends because it's Japan, just look at oshi no ko and you will understand how fucked up entertainment industry in Japan.

Guess this episode played out as expected, except for two things: No confirmation for the audition yet and no real kiss.

When this season started, I though it would be even better than the first one, but it also had some weaker episodes in the middle. Overall still a great show, certainly one of the best romance anime I've ever watched. Both MCs are a joy to watch together and just so wholesome and cute. I really need a 3rd season to see them officially going out and actually kiss each other. But the way this season ended, I fear that this will be the last we've seen of BokuYaba. 9/10

The graphics, sound effect, stories. In my opinion, it's perfect. Even though sometimes you might died from cringes but it's the uniqueness of this anime.

while i still enjoyed it i felt it was rushed. why they added the class reshuffle only a few eps before it ended was too fast. they couldve added filler stuff and stretched out some stuff. hopefully theyll take a slower approach later on

@IzanaSolos Season 2 was volumes 5 to 8. Volume 10 drops in a week in Japan. That means a Season 3 could come in the second half of 2025.

Yeah no, it will take at least 1 year for 2 volumes/20-30 chapters + 1 other minimum year for production, so in the best case scenario not before mid-2026.
@Kast2 Damn 😒

This is a series I will forever carry with me in my sorrowful heart. For this is not just an anime, it's an emotion that profoundly resonated with many of us fans. Dangers in My Heart, will forever be, one of the topmost rom-com animes I've ever watched in my life.
If you choose to do only what you know, you'll never experience the joy of being able to do something you couldn't before.

And to think I almost dropped this show after the first 5 or so episodes on season 1 which I thought were painfully dull... show really picked from that point onwards and season 2 just carried that momentum over.

@polnalyubvi @mob_zero You two should watch this gem if you loved Roshidere!

This might sound unlike of me and might sound different from how you usually know me - especially me being an LN reader, but BokuYaba is objectively far better than Roshidere in terms of everything you can think of. I am unbiased in my verdicts. It was even my most favorite rom-com earlier this year before I started reading the Roshidere LN. Despite not being as good objectively, I still enjoyed Roshidere far more than any other romcom (this is debatable because back when Ultra Romantic was airing, 'twas all I could think of. I was super excited and overjoyed when the final episode came out. Good times.). It was the Russian of Alya that hooked me. Had it not been for that, I would have never been as invested into the series.

Still, Love Is War; The Dangers In My Heart; Roshidere - They're all a 10/10 in my book. Wouldn't be doing justice to them if I were to compare one another.

@rmcold nah they're far more realistic than some Highschooler that act like they're some Einstein genius and psychological shit. Also most anime character are not realistic while this anime's is probably one of the most realistic in its genre, I can't see what's ur problem here.

Ichikawa confessed first but he didn't have a chance to ask her out, as Kankan was hunting them lol. The library was the perfect spot for them to continue their heartfelt conversation. Anna's confession was very heartwarming, it really shows how precious Ichikawa is to her.

Love how they handled the development of the characters in this series, especially Ichikawa. This series is probably in my top 3 romcoms for now.

I want to see more of them but I'd still be satisfied if this is the ending we get. Saw this coming before I started this season, it's a 10/10.

OH WELP, Ichikawa is in a whole deal of trouble hiding in the girls' bedroom.

But this is not the only issue, as the girls have their usual girls' talk about which boys they like, which for Yamada, is a clear taboo. And already, she's almost violating his virginity lols, much less privately kissing and the adult feel to have sex under the futon...which raises suspicions. Thank God for Kanzaki to bail Ichikawa out of the girls' room, though hanging outside the window like a ghost is not ideal lols.

Either way, the school trip continues, and the secret of the Torii as foretold by Kanne to scoop out potential couples, it's not her words, but Yamada did take Ichikawa by the lead to have their private time alone, talking about the audition which Yamada is just too fixated on, much less being focused on the school trip to have fun with the rest. Ichikawa, ranting his word that he's pretty much the same as her, going from a monochrome to a coloured world where friends filled his life, as well as his fated partner: Yamada, where the mundane becomes special. Ichikawa giving a push to Yamada to go to the audition, which is followed by Chihiro, both friends really support her to the end. Too bad that Kanzaki and Hara are not an item.

Ichikawa's family calling him for trip souvenirs whereas Yamada managed to make it to her auditon, he just can't leave her alone until he reaches home, which he goes to their usual place: the school library and snacking away like her usual. As for the results, nothing else matters much than her love for him. With a kiss that doesn't feel real as much as reality is, Ichikawa has decided to take the plunge, starting a relationship with Yamada.

CONGRATULATIONS to Kyotaro Ichikawa and Anna Yamada, the unrequited couple of the season for making a blast.

Season 2...has completely blown out Season 1 in comparison, AND I'M NOT KIDDING.
What a sequel that improves just upon everything that Season 1 has offered. It only gets better from here on out...in the manga.

Yeah, that scene where Ichikawa was stuck in the girls room with Yamada was definitely not good for him. But it was very interesting, and like most people, I too thought he was gonna get caught! But then Kanzaki did bail him out, by that whole bedsheet swinging act. He was definitely going a bit too far there, though I do definitely understand his desires about wanting to take a peek. I mean, he is a teenage boy after all.

And I think that’s the one thing that I really do like about this series, is the fact that it has a really natural feel to it, without being boring either. As someone else said, in the previous episode discussion, these are just the sorts of things that teenage boys and girls do during times like these. And I was really glad to see it, though, like I said, the other elements in the story still made it interesting. And while Yamada definitely is quite jealous at times, it’s not overbearing (most of the time) let alone real nasty. It is quite comical when she does it actually. In other words, she really does have a very good personality!

And the visuals in this last episode or two were absolutely outstanding! Especially the sunset visuals, where combined with the CGI was absolutely breathtaking!

It’s a great way to end such a great series such as this! 10/10

Just watched the English Dubbed version, and it was a great show.
Better than RAG than I could ever hope, sorry guys.
Kyo's growth as a character alongside with Anna's character is a wonderful thing to see in this series.

Two seasons with mostly pure hearted scenes, and at the end, truthful confessions between the two? 🫣
It can't be better than that, could it? 😳

We finally got another solid romance, but the adult jokes were rather weird and uncomfortable, it was still a nice series.

P.S. I will definitely miss the new characters this season (see attached image). Fortunately, they failed to "ship" them.
Btw, I'm rather fond of the blonde girl, definitely a klutz character that's rather interesting if given her own spotlight. But since this series is all about the two MCs, it's rather saddening to see her fade away just like that.

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

One of my all time favourite Rom-coms to date. Had everything I expected from a good romance anime and more. From the comedy to the romance, the visuals and music, were all a PIECE OF ART! This is one of those anime that make me wish I could go back in time and have a redo on my school life, so i can experience love like this. Just goes to show how beautiful and well written this anime is. It was wholesome and joyful till the very end. Hoping for more seasons to come...no matter how long it may be, I'll be here to watch The Dangers in My Heart!! W SEASON W ANIME!

It was one of the best romance animes I've ever seen. The anime was full of emotional scenes. One of the reasons I prefer anime to movies is that movies usually mix love with sex and lust and feed it to people. Still, anime usually portrays pure and innocent love ( if we don't consider ecchi animes).

The development of Ichikawa's feelings for Yamada was portrayed very well. That is, Ichikawa, as a character who hated Yamada and had no feelings for her, turned into someone who fell in love with her over time. However, the negative point was that this was not seen with Yamada. That is, it seemed that Yamada was interested in Ichikawa from the very first episode and only as the anime progressed, her feelings deepened, which was a flaw in the anime's story in my opinion. I wish the anime had shown when Yamada started to develop feelings for Ichikawa.

Of course, this may be explained in the manga. If anyone has read the manga, I would appreciate it if you could tell me if there is any mention in the manga of how Yamada became interested in Ichikawa.

WOWZA, this whole episode had my heart racing. Kyo's confession has to be the best I've seen (or can think of...all I can think about at the moment is this though). The magnitude of his development + the careful nurturing of his bond with Anna are what made this pay off so incredible. The directing of this series is so phenomenal too. The way the picture zones in on Kyo's tear strewn face as he's confessing made it feel so direct and felt like I was both giving & receiving that confession. If the chocolate hand holding from S1 melted me, then this scene made me totally evaporate. Anna's follow-up confession was so adorable too. Her little peck on the cheek & giggling was just incredibly girly. Makes me glad their lips didn't touch to savor how innocently & carefully this wonderful duo has been shaping up.

It was always incredibly heartwarming seeing how basically everyone around them was cheering them on. It took away needless drama & focused everything on the inevitable but oh so satisfying joint confessions. Even Adachi's duel with Kyo was well handled because it was never about him trying to win over Anna, but about losing with dignity (or shame, given it's Adachi).

While I consider Kaguya: Love is War to be peak romcom for its over the top theatrics, I would say BokuYaba takes it to the opposite extreme with excellent subtlety. Just like at the end of S1, I noticed Kyo's eyes were once again brimming with life. Perhaps even more so this time, as the journey he's embarked on since first coming to terms with his personal disappointments has been that much more grand. I really do appreciate how the point isn't that Anna is at the center of everything, but rather that Anna has been the gravity that has brought Kyo's perspective into orbit.

9.5+

Edit: One other thing I really wanted to mention was how Kyo's adrenaline faded away and he missed his chance to talk to Anna the night before. It felt far more realistic as mustering up the courage to try for a confession again is even harder. I definitely did not expect the confession to take place there and without the same theatric build-up that had been occurring towards the end of the last episode.

@saeed1m This is just my interpretation, although it is never said because the series runs from the point of view of the protagonist, with a good analysis of her character and environment you understand perfectly what she saw in him, her falling in love was not sudden and like the protagonist, it was gradual and grew throughout the series.

In the manga it is alluded that Anna, is afraid of men or in general the way the world and people perceive her.

This is largely because of her appearance and how much she attracts attention, she fears that people and the environment around her only see her as an attractive girl and not as a person who seeks to surpass herself, she herself is aware of her attractiveness and that people often tell her that she is very pretty, in fact, she says so at the end of season 1 if I remember correctly, although she likes to show off and she is not bothered in the least by this kind of comments, that this is the only good thing they see of her terrifies her, in the scene of episode 1 she shows no interest in the popular guy and his compliments about how pretty she is, after all, she is used to it, however she shows interest when he says “you are someone interesting”, at that point she demands details and her enthusiasm is in the air but she is quickly disappointed to see that the guy seems only interested in her LINE contact, even when she is forced by this popular guy, she shows no fear or despair, she just accepts the situation thinking that it is what she has to live and that she can do nothing about it.

In the second season it is revealed to us that Anna suffered from anxiety and at this point her peculiar taste for food is understood, as it was the fuel that helped her fight her problems and identity crisis due to how people treat her, for better and for worse. She herself mentions that she fears that people and her social circle hate her, she herself is aware that she is a failure as a human being and that is evident from the beginning, she is quite dumb, she has average grades, she has no social skills or natural talent in something specific, it can be easily said that her only good point is her appearance, she knows it, that is why she desperately seeks to stand out in something to give herself that worth, confidence, security and recognition that she needs so much, she needs to be recognized, She must convince herself somehow that she is more than a pretty girl, that's why she hates that there are people better than her in many aspects and in what she wants to be better, she has a vision of perfectionism so idealized that she acts on the basis of a loop, where she runs desperately for the answer to something that will never come, which is that perfection that she longs for but that does not exist.

She herself often says that she is surrounded by wonderful people, but also by people who are not honest with her and who seem to agree with her always for some reason, of course she knows that it is due to her appearance, she even fears to disappoint her parents, so she sees these ties as something superficial, because she knows she has no talent or something more remarkable than her appearance, this makes sense since she is a teenager and is going through that rebellion, for that stage of life of which she herself is not aware.

Now, having analyzed her character, where does ichikawa come into all this?

The MC is intelligent, has social skills, has proven to be a good leader, is quite handsome, has potential as a model because of his blue eyes, has also proven to be someone protective of people and their environment but his problem is his shyness and low self-esteem, Anna knows that this guy has potential and it all starts since he throws his bike to get away from the stalker of the first episode, for her, who seemed to redeem the situation and just accept it, this generates much interest, she realizes instantly that the MC threw the bike for her, that's why, while laughing, she tells him “you are someone interesting” this word “interesting” has double meaning in Japanese and is used depending on the context, it also means “funny” but in this scene it is valid for both contexts since Anna laughs because of the MC's reaction and the cheap excuse he invented to hide his real intentions, at this point, she knows the real reason why he threw her bike so she calls him someone interesting, but also someone funny because of his strange reaction. First impressions are very important and at this point, the MC made a good move without knowing it.

Now, if I mentioned good points about the MC, these are only superficial and only serve to generate intrigue and interest in Anna Yamada, this is what happens at the beginning of the series, she wants to spend more time with him, she makes excuses to be by his side and even wants to know about his social/family circle, it's just INTEREST at a certain point, this doesn't mean she likes him by far, she really is aware of her feelings for him when she realizes how strange she was acting, like the MC, she doesn't understand his feelings and emotions, it's normal when we talk about first love and only in that instant, in the Te con leche scene, she understands that this guy is different, as he doesn't show much interest in her looks and seems more aware and interested in her personality, tastes, her profession as a model and actress and ways of acting and expressing herself, she knows he doesn't put her on a pedestal and shows interest and disinterest at the same time, he is able to say things to her face and be sincere in some occasions.

While in the middle of season 1 it is very evident how much he cares and likes her, that feeling continues to grow and explodes in season 2, thanks to him, she learns to love herself or at least, to accept herself as she is, the manager of her job tells the MC that she considers him her pride and joy, she herself says on one occasion how much she admires and respects him, while rejecting the boy who used to often harass her at her graduation.

There is a conversation in which she and he interact deepening their feelings, ichikawa tells her “I wasn't angry with my parents, it was with myself, I was afraid of not being a good son”, in that particular scene, Anna is afraid and doesn't think she is capable of playing her role as a rebellious teenager because according to her, she has never gone through that stage, ichikawa says he envies her and proceeds to tell her what I mentioned a while ago, that simple phrase means a lot to her and that scene is very well directed, without saying a single word, she just looks at him shocked and hugs him, she finally understands that anxiety she has felt during all her adolescence, so she hugs him and at the end thanks him, because now thanks to him, now she can play that role with confidence.

Kyotaro saw in her that determination she lacked to move forward no matter what problems arise, Anna, saw in him that acceptance and courage she needed so much.

This is my analysis and I may be wrong, many people get confused and do not understand very well the message of the work in general, it is common to think this because this series is a masterpiece of telling and not showing, the author wrote this story to give more freedom and analysis to the reader / viewer, personally, I appreciate this.
