Yup I believe you're remembering right in that they're both 13.

Hmmm, I guess she still looks kind of older than him now to me so maybe she's always kind of looked older than him?

My memory's cloudy on this since it was probably mentioned so early in the first series but if it's more than that basic perhaps it could even be due to his Coralian half (I seem to recall there was some info early in the first series when he first learns the truth where she told Renton something along the lines of about her physically aging slower if I remember right, but that could be totally wrong, I haven't seen the original in a long time and while I'm re-watching the Toonami run we're only on ep 3).

Totally agree really good stuff.

Hi guys, Just to inform you, if you have seen the Eureka 7 movie you will notice its taken place in a different universe where renton and eureka grew up together and renton is the pilot of the Nirvash. The Eureka 7 Ao series could be taken place in a universe where Renton is not around or the fact that it could be way in the future, I still feel its taken place in a different "dimension" because its easier to get the story that way. Its depressing renton isn't around to be a father. I feel this series wouldv been so much better if Ao met his father along as reuniting with his mother. =) Hope you guys enjoy ur animes/mangas....

Decent stuff: what the hell was with Truth's facial expressions. Dude looked possessed when he was fighting Nirvash. Good to know the Secrets aren't enemies.

Disappointed, I really hoped this show would take a different direction...oh well you gotta please the fanbase in the end..

Lol so freaking true thought I was the only one hated Renton's character preferred him in the movie to bad it was not canon also
This is messed up because Eureka and Renton disappeared with the nirvash remember with that corny moon crap how is it that their researching the scab coral if the last time we saw them they seemed like ghost just flashing lights

A lot got cleared up in this episode, so we're dealing mainly with time traveling here with Eureka going fort and back in time, but well this series sure got a lot more interesting now that we got more information about various points of the current setting. Let's see what will happen next though!

Gotta love this confusion , I barely understand something from this anime :D
I've watched Eureka 7 about 2 years ago but still AO's Earth looked suspicious . Gotta love these plot twists .

So in Eureka and Renton's time (after the original series), the Scub coral are going missing and they need to find out why. It turns out they are being sent into the past/alternate universes. Eureka was able to bury the Gekko and her Nirvash inside one of them to travel between times/universes.

Even though she doesn't know Ao is her future son, she still realizes she is older (scolding him for starting the meal too early).

Man...the interior of the deserted Gekko, even though I didn't complete the original series until 2020, it still feels nostalgic. Eureka reminisces about Renton, and (though not mentioned by name, Holland, Talho and the others...). Telling Ao that his dad is a crybaby is a very apt description (but she doesn't know of course...)

So it's clear from Eureka's POV, she hasn't met any of these people yet, but have met her.
