| I liked this better when it was called Dawn of the Dead. I mean seriously, everything in the goddamn episode was completely lifted from somewhere else... in one obvious case, literally. It did an OK job of it though, I guess. The tension was high, and the gore was well-executed. The pacing left something to be desired, I think. The production values are good, but that old bastard Mr. Shakeycam has risen his head once again. Overall, very, very generic. It is at least entertaining, I guess, but I'll reserve my judgements on this series for later. |

| I decided to check this this out since I'm watching mostly comedy and romance shows so far this season. I'll probably check out the next episode but there were a couple of annoyances in this episode. 1st: The fanservice is a bit much. I read some people saying it's not that much or something similar...really? I have seen enough anime to know that this has a lot of fanservice. Sadly, there's almost 0% chance that it's going to be any less in later episodes so I'll just have to get used to it. 2nd: That girl Rei is already annoying. I really hope she becomes less annoying later on. I am interested in the whole zombie situation though. |

| Thoose crieing about Rei Better brace yourselves, as pretty muchevery character will get their moments similar to what happened after credits. :) The further in the story - the more of those moments will be there. Those are not rational suare-jawed heroes. Those are terrified highschoolers in the middle of sudden zombie apocalypse. And lets justsay that most of them have certain flaws that will only become more and more apparent. |

One of the characters is based off of the author of Hellsing (the even have the same name), Shaun from Shaun of the Dead makes a cameo, constant references to Zombie films etc etc. Don't take this show so seriously, it is almost Zombieland-ish in nature. |

She's either going to go mad and kill someone, get scared, be a bitch and betray someone and act all innocent, or any number of possibilities, but I can't see her living. Actually pretty much EVERY character in this show has really big flaws and have multiple layers of personality that slowly uncover through the stress and storyline. And yes this is more about how characters change psychologically by livingsurviving in such an environment. |

I haven't read the manga so I can't spoil, but as I said on the last page this is a horror anime based off of Zombie movies. In zombie movies characters are flawed and people will die. I think Rei is either going to be the betrayal bitch who gets what she has coming later on, or some other fate which is going to get her killed. This is the first episode and she's already showing signs of being manipulative and selfish, which in zombie movies means she's likely our bitch character who will suffer demise sooner or later. |
| For those who didn't like the excessive fanservice, you can still turn back if you want. It's not going to turn down. It will up its level on the next episodes. OP song speaks for itself. Yum, eye candy xD. But it doesn't bother me and I like it. |

| Loved it! The first episode gave an exelent firt look at the series. The episode didn´t feel rushed, and the animation was top notch. Can´t wait for the next episode. |

Well I can just say this, I will give you a gold brick if you can name me another anime that the main aspect is surviving a zombie Apocalypse.(AKA. dawn of the dead style) Who gives a damn if it's unoriginal? I am just going to enjoy it for what it is. A real zombie anime. |

| My expectations were all met, even though they were really high. Great first episode. It seemed to be a bit censored still; with some headbashing and the teacher committing suicide being left out, but it didn't really bother me that much. Other than that, this was faithful to the first chapter of the manga and I loved it. Superb animation, art and music. I like both the OP and ED; visuals and music. Seiyuus are doing a good job, especially Suwabe Junichi. Mamoru did an awesome job as well. Too bad he's dead, lol. Looks like HotD will deliver much gore and fanservice like it should. People expecting anything else should stop watching, or at least know what you're getting into. |
