| Why can't we just be nice? Why can't we just have good things happen. Emilia-tan doesn't deserve her suffering. T.T That moment when she said, stay with me. I don't think anyone in the world could have refused that. Puck broke the contract, feels like there was barely any explanation as to why he would break the contract. Just to remove the seal on Emilia's memories? So she can overcome them? I guess that makes sense but he's a powerful spirit, surely he can make a contract with her again. I just can't bear watching Emilia cry. :( Otto really stepping up big time. |

| - It is just the 1st episode and Subaru already eliminated his MAIN OPPONENT! Now Emilia is 100% yours, Subaru! - Btw, the FIRST time in all the series that we see Puck "dying"... and nobody gave a f*. - SO satisfying to see the magic clown to get caught by surprise, to the point he didn't said any "Subaaaaaaaaaaaru-kun" of anything in his annoying intonation. Finally Subaru found how to aproach him. - BABY EMILIA |

| Some clarifications for some scenes. -Subaru does not tell Otto about Return by Death, he tells him about all the problems in the Sanctuary and the Mansion and how Roswaal caused all of it. -The bet conditions are if Subaru prevents the disasters in the Mansion and Sancatuary, Roswaal will have to follow him. If Subaru fails, he will have to follow what Roswaal wants in the next loop. -There are 4 Main Ryuzu Copies, and they rotate everyday since they consume large amounts of mana. The first Ryuzu we meet is Ryuzu Bilma, the one introduced in this episode is Ryuzu Arma, and the one who is against the liberation of the Sanctuary is Ryuzu Shima who was introduced in Episode 7 of Season 2, and one more Ryuzu that's yet to be introduced. -Garfiel took the trials 10 years ago, but he never came back, Ryuzu Shima entered the tomb to bring him back thus violating the contract bestowed upon them by Echidna. -Garfiel cannot smell the Witch's Scent, Ryuzu Shima is the one that tells Garfiel about Subaru's scent. -Subaru at the end is actually forcing his way through the tomb and is constantly being rejected, making him nauseous. |

In Reddit many people is confused about what Subaru revealed to Otto because this another dialogue:  And i agreed with the clear interpretation of Maru_T there: No my dude, I am almost positive this scene means that since Subaru is going to deal with Emilia, he won't have to worry about dying as opposed to Otto, who's going to face the big bad tiger. |

| It wasn't the best first episode of anime I've ever seen, but it was the best first episode of all seasons of this anime, which certainly raised my expectations regarding this season. The big highlight without a doubt was Emilia in all the times that she appeared, but mainly in her scene with the Pack, and the next one of her with Subaru. Subaru, on the other hand, remains Subaru, we hate most of the time, however sometimes it offers some moments. |

on | As a proud Anime-Only (i just read the novel until the events of every new episode), what i think is going to happen: - RosDio checkmate is about the mutual destruction of the Sanctuary AND the Mansion in 3 days after the 1st trial, to force Subaru to endure sacrifices. - The essential part of this plan involves the weak psychological condition of Emilia. - By the bet, it is clear that Subaru's plan is not about gather help to kill the f* clown before he summons the snowstorm. That would be my solution btw. This "sacrifice" would be okay for you, Ros? - So, this plan is 1st part, focus on Emilia, that was neglected by Subaru all the 1st half. And the farewell of Puck was the most important. - Now Emilia can be prepared to pass at least the 1st trial, but that's not enough. So may the second part of plan is the help of Garfiel to release the villagers, leaving the least possible to face the hell-rabbits. Anyway, in the end i don't think Subaru will release the sanctuary before the 3rd day, because that is the endgame after all. So in the midterm, after settle the things in the sanctuary, he will flee to the Mansion, find a way to defeat the assassin b.tches, and come back in time before the piranha bunny storm, to finally destroy them and release everybody. |

| ooow shit bro that was good, i enjoyed that as a first episode back. Lots of questions answered and new ones coming up. Again, main MVP Otto, now not just once this season, but TWICE. Put some sense back into Subaru, and now helped him formulate a plan. That ending with him and Garfiel in a stand off was fucking crisp. Subaru's talk with Roswaal was very entertaining, nice to see Roswaal look shocked and unbelieved for once, since Subaru played a better hand then his. Wonder how Subaru and Otto's plan are going to align everyone's needs perfectly though? Ngl it did sound like two mad men making the craziest bet ever, and was a nice reminder that Roswaal and Subaru both have the same end goal at the end of the day. Talk with Ryuuzu was interesting, did feel slightly confusing and ngl, most of her characters plot points had slipped from my crusty brain, so if the majority of what she said was already covered in part 1, it felt new to me. The existence of 4 Ryuuzus wasn't surprising to much, but i didn't piece together that we'd had met at least 3 already. Was kicking myself after that one, couldn't believe i missed that detail from part 1 xD Puck's deal was, something this episode. Didn't expect it, but it seems he had to put a barrier in Emilia's memories, which explains a lot. Hopefully with it lifted she can reconcile with her past, and hopefully we get to see more of her past! Frozen bond's was a decent start, but if i'm correct, it seems we are going to go wayyyy further back then those events. Looking forward to the next episodes, they did a great job this ep at leaving areas for question, like wtf Subaru and Otto's plan actually is, Puck's involvement in it that required him to off himself, getting around Garfiel and Shima and why Subaru was beat up at the end. |

If the leaks for the next two are also true then EP40 will be adapting 51 Pages and EP41 will be adapting 68 Pages, and EP41 will be the end of Volume 13. Leaving 9 more episodes and 2 more volumes to be adapted. |

| I haven't watched the Frozen Bond movie so I'm really curious about Emilia's past. Really dialogue heavy episode with a lot of things uncovered. I hope the next episodes will be more action packed but decent episode nonetheless. |

| I feel sorry for English-only dudes that have to watch this epic anime with horrible Crunchyroll translation. Plenty of TL errors and bad lines. For an instance, 11:57-12:04 The first Ryuzu-san I met called herself "Bilma." I never meant to hide anything from Ryuzu-san… nope.jpg He didn’t say that he tried to hide something from her. He said that SHE actually did NOT hide her name from him. Makes sense, right? |
