Renai Flops Episode 7 Discussion

By the way ATX broadcast isn't uncensored this time.

Idk why everyone was shitting on this show so much so early and pretending it's not there for a reason, they made it VERY clear something is not right, from all the glitches, to the absolutely nonsensical plot of everyone falling in love with him, magical girls and aliens, shady organizations vs sensei... They where building it up to be an extremely stereotypical harem visual novel caricature kind of thing, and in such a way that the viewer (at least Japanese viewer) will constantly question why is it that way... You literally can't say much about it until the plot twist (which they showed WILL happen very clearly) drops. That being said, they did drag it out a bit too long before starting the reveal... Then again the people who rushed to hate it wouldn't change their minds regardless if the plot twist happened in episode 7 or 5/4. Well, let's see if ALL of those characters and episodes where needed and if it's gonna be a good reveal and follow-up

Fucking thank you. I've been reading the first page of every discussion thread after I finish an episode and it honestly felt like I was watching an entirely different show from everyone else. For anyone that's actually watched too many generic shitty harems, it should have been incredibly clear that there was more going on with this one. I don't know how the rest of it will play out yet, but up til now it's been surprisingly refreshing watching all these tropes get so obviously played around with and taken to the extreme.

@Unknown-Number Yeah its weird, maybe its something to do with people's attention span and perception seemingly dropping to less of that of a goldfish nowadays... Or just the overall dropping intelligence levels, idk. Had someone arguing with me on one of those that there where NO hints of anything else going on and that the show didn't do anything non standard, iunno man, i'm losing hope in humanity with every passing day at this point lol

The show's still not great, even if the oversaturation and twist where pretty creative, although it kinda could be if they didn't mess up with stuff later on

@mkzxwing I just finished it, and you're right. It went downhill after episode 7 and I think ironically became more generic in the end, though plenty of people think the twist and follow-up saved the show. I can't understand that. It's almost the complete opposite of my experience. Oh well, just another reminder that I don't really fit in with the average anime viewer. Maybe I'm getting too old.
