Season 1: キャンプってなに
Season 2: キャンプに行こう
Movie: キャンプになりました

After binging first two series and minis, I was worried two consecutive hours of camping might be a lot, and I was initially planning to split my viewing in halves or thirds even.

But in the end, I completely forgot about that and just watched the entire movie. It's a solid 9/10, within the (sub)genre, but you must be able to enjoy it. If not, you might end up getting boared to death, so keep that in mind. A fitting punishment for not appreciating such a masterpiece, if you ask me.

I really enjoyed the new activities we went through, as well as the new scope and context. The first series was a tutorial, the second was visitor POV mode, and with the movie we have finally reached the Open Yuru Camp Deluxe level, where we can do all the fancy clicking on plots of land, layout making, dropping people with lawnmowers onto overgrown grass, building structures on allotted grid squares, and bribing the government.

Just press Play and sit back... relax... sink into your chair... put down roots... grow into a healthy tree... there's no rush...

I got really into the archaeology part of the film, so I found the vase, that was used as a reference in one of the scenes:
  • The screenshot is around 01:40:30 in the movie.
  • Source for the vase photo: Jean-Pierre Dalbéra
  • Found it at Wikimedia Commons
  • Description of the vase:
Deep vase. Pottery with corded patterns. Middle Jomon period. 3000-2000 B.C.

Archaeological excavation of Naka, Sugao, Akiruno-shi, Tokyo

    Gift of Mr. Shiono Hanjure

The Jomon culture is that of the first hunter-gatherer peoples of Japan, it lasted from 10,500 to 300 B.C. and began at the end of the last ice age.
