people are not radars, it's not about detecting ^^".

But the only way to have children is to have a level of magic around the same as your partner (which they indeed can evaluate by being able to "perceive" the mana of the other person or not), and then there's the whole long and slow process of 'tainting' the other with your magic for a children to be able to be conceived. Simply put, their own magic reject other magical sources as foreign and fight it like antibodies would fight anything foreign invading your body. This does include the "invasion" of the female body that happens when they have sex. For the woman to be able to conceive a child, IIRC they need to slowly accustoms the woman's body to her partner's magic so that it won't be rejected anymore.

but yeah for nobles, just because you love someone doesn't mean you'll be able to marry. If you aren't close enough in mana to procreate this will not be allowed. And then there's the whole political scene where if you belong to opposed cliques you'll probably won't be able to marry either.

Well, that ability does work at a distance and even through walls ;)

It's a major reason for the 'secret rooms' which are completely sealed off by magic - they can't really feel they are completely alone otherwise, and in an emergency hiding in a non-magical room wouldn't work.

hmm I use the word chance here since author said a new side story about (probably fanbook5
) that can be use as reference later, from
SS the interpretation was like that magical detection is part of puberty for them...

even if she truly love someone pt1
the only hindrance to this will be Politics, her having no say who she wants to marry (arrange)...

Even in the commoner area if she remains as one it will also be arrange by the parents ... Considering Karla's (Lutz mom) comments on Myne from Part 1 (the one anime skip) she is not even in their radar, coz she is going to become deadweight (useless) there is no merrit in marying a sickly child... Also Lutz says the same thing earlier in front of Karla that she is willing to cut loose from Myne just to fullfil his dream (ch58) becoz Karla think Myne is the reason (puppy love excuse wew - imagine Urano eating popcorn while watching lutz and Karla banter in front of her)...

even if she truly loved someone
version 2 answer
Book already answered that she truly loves Ferdinand (so he is her someone) and this is her way of I love you from.the authors twitter spills :

But if another season were to happen than that season would end on a rather sad end. I want another season to continue but at the same i am warry, especially since these type of series never get fully adapted. so if another were to happen i think at least another 2 cour would be needed.

I get that and i agree. Indeed, the end of S3 will be sad. I am currently at Part 3 Book 3. I do think that the story and overall mood evolve. To me, even if there was a 2 cour, it wouldn't end up on a lighthearted note. Maybe it is only me, but i find the mood heavy in "Honzuki...". The way, every time she has to adapt for the sake of surviving and protecting her family, she points out "And i felt, at this very moment, that i just killed yet another part of me". There is tension, and social norms are extremely pressuring. The author is so great at building up a whole new world of logic in her books. She must have travelled in the world. Myne has our 21st century logic: "you will forgive people, not take their insult at heart and move on. Children have to be protected, freedom and human rights are everything". Nothing weird for us.

But the logic in this world is rather different, and somewhat inspired of Middle Ages western Europe: "if someone of lower status dare insult you, you have to punish him, and disrespecting archnobles obviously equals death sentence. There is nothing evil in this, nor there is in considering commoners as objects of property, or executing them for opposing nobles. Selling orphans to slavery is not evil. Because they are property of those who feed them (or at least allow them to survive somehow). Mayor of villages, orphanage directors... are owners of the orphans. The evil one is the one who try to steal property (like orphans) for themselves, even if it means trying to give orphans a better life. That is what it is and that is how the world runs".

Depending on the perspective, slavery is not evil. Human rights is a concept that would puzzle everyone around Myne. Ferdinand would be shocked and would explain Myne how this silly idea would ruin everything for everyone (and it would indeed). Myne has no choice but to learn a wholly different logic, and make it her own. This may make it look to us like she has to corrupt herself and do ugly things, but this is really living in a place where normality is completely different. Everything i talk about is already hinted from the very beginning, so i am merely making things clear for those who didn't catch on it. The way she interacts with her family is rather sad too, even in part 3. That is not a pure drama, sure. And actually, that is what makes the story so good to me. The author defined her rules and she sticks with it. Which makes the worldbuilding and characters extremely consistent and attractive.

But overall, i don't believe this is a question of 1 or 2 cour. It would need the whole shebang to be adapted to bring a satisfying ending. The more you read, the more you need more, and what happens at the end of part 2 is merely a step on a ladder.

Myne was engaged to be married to Aub Sylvester's oldest son Wilfried, but it was out of necessity because Sylvester didn't want Myne getting engaged to some other noble and Ehrenfest loses her in the process, and it was also for her to stay in Ehrenfest because that's what she would have wanted, plus Myne didn't exactly act or speak like a proper noble so it would be risky. Sylvester said it made sense for her to be engaged to Wilfried, but if he didn't want to marry her then Sylvester would take her as his second wife, which was a bad idea. Ferdinand was also a possibility at the time, but it was not a good idea either, and I think there was one or two other candidates but the age gap was way too much.

P.S. I remember I was expecting her to end up with Lutz too, I had that feeling he was the male lead for a little bit until Myne has gotten into the church and met Ferdinand. It sounds weird but it was at the time when she cried tears of joy right after she realized Lutz and his family weren't going to be torn apart. And then Ferdinand handed her his handkerchief to wipe her tears away. And then she said, "It was at this moment I learned his name was...Ferdinand". At that moment I was like, "Ok he's going to be the male lead". Lol it was a gut feeling.

I've heard that the blue haired priest on the cover marries Maine. Is this true? Had someone tell me that he just adopts her and the reason people think they are married is because his name directly translates to husband.

Can anyone who's read the novel (preferably without google translate) confirm or deny this? Thanks!

Mod edit: added spoiler tag
@Lookman373890 May I ask who died? This doesn't happen in the Light Novel so it sounds like an interesting difference in the Web Novel
Edit: nvm it got explained ITT, I should read before I post
