| I actually find Motoko's theatrics quite endearing. The Yuki fangirls have always seemed mostly harmless, like the delinquent wannabes that look up to Uo-chan. While it'd probably be better for them to dial back the prince fawning, their clumsy antics actually make them really cute at the same time. |

| This episode doesn’t advance the main plot but it’s a fun episode regardless and it was an episode involving Saki and Yuki’s “fan club” so to speak. I’ve never said this about Saki’s character but she’s cool, just a really cool character. I really did feel like those girls really didn’t have their plan thought through. I mean with all their delusions that Tohru is some evil witch that’s taking their precious Yuki away from them even though they are kind of gatekeeping him by just keeping Tohru away from him in the first place and they don’t see the irony in what they are doing. We even got to meet Saki’s brother Megumi who is in many lines like Saki and I like him for it. Yeah the fan club didn’t really “ruin Tohru” more they just strengthened the bond that she has with Saki. Plus Saki and Megumi weren’t stupid and could tell the fan club weren’t there to hang out they were there because of the fact they were going to print something horrible in their newspaper. I did laugh when the narrator was going over the rules. Plus the nightmares that the girls had about Saki and then eventually her brother were definitely the highlights for me. |
| Maybe it's because of my goth girl phase back in the day, but I absolutely adore Hanajima! 😆 I wish my younger brother could curse people for me too, lol. However, I'm a bit disappointed by how little the show is developing Yuki and Tohru's relationship... I started watching it because it was recommended as the best follow-up to 'Kamisama Hajimemashite,' but, even though that was a slow burn too, it at least had interactions between the main characters in every episode that made my heart leap. 'Fruits Basket,' on the other hand, seems to focus so much on the side characters that it leaves very little room for the main ones... Anyway, I enjoyed this episode, and since Hanajima is my favorite female character, I shouldn't really complain lol |
