Better than expected. The scene where they all turned around after MC started playing a song from his phone was cool. |
I'm watching anime since 2012. I also play games, sometimes. Don't bother me if you want to 'become friends' or things like that. It's tiresome. I know you just want to collect some meaningless numbers. Thought: How many people sparked H. Charlotta just for blue pot? |

I was really impressed by this. Just as I was starting to lose hope there were any good animes coming out this seaosn. It was a bit jarring halfway through but it does look really promising. |

This episode sure kept me on the edge, it seems pretty unpredictable so far. Since I love philosophy and psychology, this series will surely be one of my favorites this season. I just hope every confusing part of this anime will be resolved soon, or at least until the end. |

DarkAudit said: Freud was a quack, and MC kid is way too up his own ass. A healthy dose of truck-kun should fix that straight away. Really, if MC would just STFU even a little, this would be far more enjoyable. I enjoyed the first episode quite a bit and the MC’s talk of psychology was the highlight for me. Idk what you’re talking about. Psychology is cool as hell. |

At the end when the MC was like what on earth is happening...same. WHAT IS HAPPENING. I will admit I usually do not like feeling this confused after the first episode but in case of games, this is usually the case since more game play means exploring the world more and understanding the important details we dismiss in the beginning. I suppose this does make me more curious about what the anime has to offer, and perhaps I will give it a chance but I'm more WORRIED than curious because I already see some red flags... Now, I don't like to compare...but this does give me angel beats/steins gate/persona 5 vibes like a lot of people have been saying. The fact that it has so many different components and quite complex concepts involving social psychology or philosophy...I'm actually quite scared of what outcome can come out of this. In cases like persona 5, or animes that deal with psychology, it is more of a commentary or insight on aspects of topics such as justice, human suffering, society, etc. It is interesting YES but how does it actually contribute to the story that is being told? The first thing that sort of sets off an alarm for me in this show is the fact that it seems to throw around psychological theories or concepts and the attempt to weave them into the plot, at least right now, is done in pretty poor taste. I certainly feel like the show could have done a better job integrating these concepts or introducing them in the episode better rather than using dialogue to feed the audience information. It is quite ineffective. Intriguing, but the impact of this information is not effective and I think that if this continues on it is not a show I would like to watch. Yes, it is only the first episode but with this many characters sort of 'introduced' briefly, and particularly the main character, there seems to be no clear picture of what story this show even wants to tell. Yes, the intriguing aspect of this world is how the world has sort have been created to picture these concepts. What makes psychological works so interesting is not merely the appeal of the world, as it is in some ways supposed to reflect our own world. Our own world is interesting I suppose but the show is supposed to offer more than a 'world', if that makes sense, but tell a story. It demands development in the characters and the execution of these ideas and development...this is very important. Therefore bringing up questions like "what is happiness?" and illustrating the influence of social figures...it is unfulfilling if the plot wants to showcase so many different points, visuals, characters, and action sequences that can all be lost in translation to the viewer. When the message is lost, I think at that point even its entertainment would be greatly impacted and it would end up being a waste of time. This is just my opinion. |

I'm familiar with psychology lessons troughout the episode, but i must say that i really love the musics on this show, the OP, ED and the insert song too. Probably needs time to fully understand the story, but i give it 5/5 for the complex start & good musics. I know this anime came from a game and after a bit of searching, it's published in NA by Atlus (the same company that developed Persona & SMT series) and it's written by the same person who worked on first three games in the persona series, so that explains the artstyle and story familiarity. |

will give it the ol 3 ep's to decide weather I wanna continue this, as long as the mc gets clued in quickly and doesn't bumblefuck around for too long then it should be a decent watch. Also thank fuck SHAFT didn't get this anime, that would have made it un-watchable and potentially the most pretentious piece of media in existence. |

I had a hard time getting what the show is about, actually. What is it trying to be? The art seems good though, the OP and ED are visually appealing and the insert songs are good, I just have to give this a while. |

Wow,this was quite something.I really digged the psychological aspects and the whole bizarreness. Solid start, but I'm still sceptical since these shows tend to end up as a mess and it's adapted from a game. |

I'll be watching this till the end. I was a follower of Caligula from the announcement of the game since it was the work of the original Persona writer. Never picked up the game when it was released in English, unfortunately. But hopefully, this anime will surface until 'Overdose' is eventually released (that is if it is released). The music is excellent and I'd recommend people to at least give the original soundtrack a listen. If there's anything I'm looking forward too in regards to this anime if it flops, it's the music. |

It was confusing as hell, too much questions on the top my head. I guess I need to continue watching the series cause of the psychology and those some mc's flashbacks: drugs/medicines?, hospital/lab?, intrigued me. What a let down, I didn't heard the PV song on the episode, that song is the first thing that made me interested to watch the show. |

Despite how boring this was I was actually enjoying it, at least until the last 2 minutes. Some people were weird mutant things (and presumably their handlers), others were being attacked, others were just sitting there during the rampage like nothing was happening... there was no consistency in behaviors. That last scene was executed so poorly, and it was solely due to how the side characters and extras behaved. So rarely have the literal background characters and extra ruined an episode or series for me. Still, I did manage to get some enjoyment out of the episode, so I'll stick around a bit longer. |

I got that, and at the same time it makes no sense. Using gaming terms, everybody is in their own instance...except when they are not... If everybody were in their own instance there is no reason to believe that the actors doing nothing should be there as well. If they are all in the same instance then why can those being deceived not see the giant fucking monsters in front of their faces? There's only so much deceit and not wanting to see the truth can do to hide what is right in front of you. So, what if their senses were overwritten or "hacked"? Well, there is so much more they could have done to those who could see the truth to prevent them from uprising. *From this episode* there is no logical reasoning for their behavior and how that scene was executed. There are too many unanswered questions and a lot of assumptions being made. The rules have not been explicitly established, and the implicit rules (made by assumption) were majorly broken. |

There are too many unanswered questions and a lot of assumptions being made. The rules have not been explicitly established, and the implicit rules (made by assumption) were majorly broken. The logic you use can not be applied here. I will try to answer just based on the episode. Miu can control the minds of the people and this is seen when the students attack Shogo, all those who began to see the problems in the world could react while the rest were zombies. The supposed graduation of the school is just a way to restart the cycle, in this way the memory of the students is erased, that is why no one responds to what happens around, it is the music of Miu that it makes them enter into a collective allusion like what happens in Chaos Child with the Chaos Child Syndrome. All those who are attacked are characters that have awakened from this dream and, forcibly, try to get them back with the rest. Everything else are things that have to be shown in the following episodes, but if you still want to know I answer Ostinato can wash the head of those who have seen the truth as the students who were attacked, the difference is that characters like Shogo have already awakened the Catharsis Effect so they can defend themselves against those attacks. PD:I add more information about the "Students" who are left doing nothing and those who become zombies (SPOILERS) Digiheads "The nickname for μ and Ostinato Musician fanatics. Emotions are fascinating solidified expressions of the mixed-up feelings within people that pierce the skin. The main characteristic is the acquisition of euphoria. The elevation of violence. A decrease in linguistic ability can also be seen. Additionally, the people who change into Digiheads lose their self-awareness, and their change of appearance is not noticed by normal Mobius residents that forgot about the existence of reality. Typically, those whose reason and public face suppress their desire in reality are more aggressive the more dependent they are on Mobius, considering there are no restraints. Mobius is a place thought to be the cause of emotional outbursts. Their existence is affirmed, and that rate of aggressive erosion is increased at a high rate when they listen to the μ’s music. Although she is able to attack those who take on a negative attitude towards her, μ’s only principle of conduct is “to make known the goodness of μ.”" |

An anime for teens who like to dabble in entry-level science to act so much smarter than their friends and mansplain constantly. They also relate so hard to being bored everyday and everyone else is dumb and they're woke. They like shows that are stupidly complex (but they're not actually complex, just horribly constructed) and don't explain themselves so they can pat themselves on the back for theorizing about nonsense that means nothing. Ugh, this show's got to have one of the most unappealing artstyles in Anime I've seen yet. Seriously, what's with the shading? It makes everything look dusty. The psychology elements felt a bit pretentious too. Story-wise, I am utterly confused what's happening. I was kinda following it, but I got lost at the graduation ceremony. |

Well, the anime's art setting was done by Oguchi, and you can check out his work in Kantai Collection. Black, grey and white, only. Besides, the opening has already demonstrated how important color is in this series, so consider the art style as a foreshadowing is rather valid. As for the graduation ceremony, pay attention to the name of the presenter. A person who just graduated came back as an upcoming freshman. A lot can be deduced from that. |

5/5. Originally wanted to find a 6, but since I read the synopsis (I do not know why for this anime spoilers to be omnipresent when a synopsis is provided) so spoilers deduct 1 down. There are certain details that are made to be so miniscule that only a few can catch, or utterly not translated at all in English subtitles. The former include the name of the speaker in both the graduation ceremony (I think many missed that), the shadow of the protagonist in the final flames, etc. The latter includes a very crucial but short dialogue at the very beginning of the episode, at 1:51: Forward: こんな世界クズだ ->This world is trash どこかに消えてしまいたい… ->I want to disappear from this world Reply: わかった。もう大丈夫! ->I know. It's all right now! 私に全部任せて ->Just rely on me entirely I think that will resolve about 50% of the confusions people might have right now. |
