Good episode, it seems Rika and Hanyuu talked with Keichi's dad in the past.
Also, Mion's grandmother doesn't seem all that mean this episode.

I'm already pumped for the last arc!

19 is going to be hysterical. EPIC Hauu~ing is inevitable.

So all the deaths of "Oyashiro-sama's curse" have finally been explained, all the mysteries of the past are cleared up... well, hopefully not entirely. It'd be nice if the series pulled one more huge twist on us.

Keichii = Rena > all. I'm so glad that Keiichi and Rena are back. I actually missed Keiichi just as much as Rena during the past 3 episodes. Now that the final pieces of the puzzle have been solved, it's now or never. Break the "curse" or die trying, for the 101st time. :(

Some of Rena's and Satoshi's scenes really reminded me of the chaotic first season. My fav scene was actually the one with Mion and her grandmother. It really shows its symbolic side, and another side to Oryo.

I will say Keiichi's really become a much more endearing character this season as opposed to last, and seeing an edgy Rena just sweetens the deal.

The scene between Mion and Oryou was very poignant. Onibaba is a tough old hag but she knows what needs to be done and she'll accept it when someone who can lead the village in the same belief challenges her.

This also reminds me that once all is said and done, I need to watch the whole thing start to finish again.

Also, the puzzle is still incomplete (Ep. 9 start, previous season)... I have my hunches, but this is a show I'm not keen to guess with anymore. Especially after learning how Satoko and Satoshi's parents died.

Ah! I was going to keep that piece of the puzzle quiet, but your right; the opening scene of Episode 9 still confuses me a bit. Probably because that was the only scene in Season 1 that actually scared the s*it out of me, so I didn't get a good look of the victim's face or body very well.

But I just want to move on from the past. Hanyuu is school uniform next episode. I hope. xD

Whoa. Rina? I mean, with the whole episode about Satoshi and the fact that the corpse appeared to have blond hair ... It could've been anyone's guess. But I guess the star tattoo makes it pretty obvious.

Still, I was already looking forward to how they were going to explain his disappearance in this art. But hey. Maybe he doesn't disappear at all. That'd be a whole lot interesting.

so after making sure there was a fansubber for this, i started rewatching from where i left off... and wow...

keiichi and rena pwn everyone else indeed.

one thing is that, i think mion's grandmother knows about the past worlds, because she said that the "new air" is going to free the village from the hate they had, which could be a reference to all that's happened in the last arc. i dont know, just my guess

awesome episode btw, more keiichi and rena wins

Well, we have our own hunches. Since in that arc, it is the arc where Satoko's uncle died right? I think he was killed by Keiichi with the bat. That's the first thing that came to my mind. It was really Satoko's uncle in the plastic (garbage) bag. But well, we still don't know. Or if someone knows, tell us and give us references.

Btw, going back to this episode. WEEE! HANYUU!~~~

And with that I'm pretty sure all of the questions have been answered. I can't believe I didn't guess that was what happened to Satoshi. It makes perfect sense because Rena said last season that Satoshi was hearing footsteps like her and paranoia is a part of Hinamizawa Syndrome. Then, there's the whole thing about how he really wanted to buy her that bear then he suddenly goes missing and the bear's not there anymore. Yet there's no mention of Satoko receiving. All the clues were there, I just never bothered to piece them together.

Now, that all the questions have been answered, the rest of the series should be quite interesting.

Anyway,I've been waiting for such an episode for quite a while,I was missing the main characters. Takano's screen time was relatively small this time, that's a relief :]

QFMFT ...well, Reina+Hanyuu+Shion+K1 > All.

I changed my opinion on Satoshi, he's actually pretty cool. Having endured the effects of that Syndrome through sheer willpower, just to buy her little abused-sister a huge Teddy Bear.
Yay!! A much former apperance for that cute Auuing-loli, Hanyuu!! This last arc will be epic!
And more is revealed about the setting. Mion's granny is not such a bad old hag after all. It's all that Syndrome's fault. Paranoia made all those murders happen.

I loved this preview, it was very cute and funny. I'm thinking of Hanyuu as more of a spirit entity than some alien interface(like Nagato Yuki).

That's why season 3 is here! Or it will be in a few months-time ^^

Finally all the mysteries solved. The pieces are all in places. What's left is to change the future.

After that boring Takano's part finally everything started to begin. Damn that Takano, so she's the cause of Satoshi's dissapearance.

What i quite surprised is Ouryou's good part, she was actually accepting everyone and try to solve Houjou Family's problem. My view for her is changed.

omg so those third steps everyone always heard were from Hanyuu! That is so completely awesome. Poor Rena. She wasn't delusional in that regard... But wtf did Hanyuu do to her, if she did something? I guess she was halucinating.

Irie and Satoshi both were acting strangely in the car ride. I had a feeling Satoshi really was a bit troubled as well.

The old woman is more astute than I figured, but that's expected of an elderly person. What a surprise that she wanted to solve the Houjou's problem. My opinion of her has changed. What a burden for Keiichi though, but he doesn't seen to notice that thankfully, hahah.

Why didnt Irie save Satoshi but instead was experimenting on him?
Wasnt there a cure that at least worked for Satoko ?
Or has Irie gone completely amoral by now ?
Besides that, many things are very clear now. Looking forward to the next episode :)

So, what happened to Satoshi? Did the syndrome take control of him, or is that company keeping him holed up? I liked how Onibaba knows that letting someone new in would be good for the villiage... and so begins the beginning of Keichii joining the crew.
