Oh damn, the new commander is a tough girl right from the very beginning of this episode and so is Cryska.

A lot of good mecha action later on against those aliens. Almost felt a little like watching Starship Troopers in a way. Anyways, nice episode and you go Yuuya, you and that epic cannon :>

Is it me or is Yui starting to fall for Yuuya?

The new leader not wanting others to get in the way, seems like she doesn't approve them, especially OnoD's character. Not just her, but also the team and the older twin.

The real battle begins. The leader not letting them fight because of not enough of numbers and sent her own team. It seems like it's useless for them to be here at all.

Later, they allowed him to support when he asked for it and explained the situation. The leader and everyone finally approved him for his faraway shooting.

The first half was kind of mundane but at least Cryska got her revenge on those lackeys from last episode.

About the fight, the second half is where it’s at in the following,

GORE TIME! Man I was still pretty shell shocked at first from the BETAs in the spoiler
seems the damn skanks can cross shallow water that is not too deep and not be affected by the water at all. Just they can’t fly at all IMO. No unit of the BETAs so far cannot.

About a innocent victim, POOR GIRL in the spoiler
DAMN FUCKING BETAs! Killing all of our girls, if Duke Nukem would be around he mop them up with his weapons. I know she is not dead but her trauma of seeing Jacob die was painful more than seeing him die. Which leads me to the following,

About time Bridges. Half of the time I was like “FIRE THE FUCKING GUN BRIDGES! NOW!” When he did in the spoiler
man was I happy like ever. On top of that it made big ass splat of the BETAs. IMO that thing can penetrate the armor however it’s firing and recharging takes time and recoil is nasty as shit ever is.

About thee end, I find that Yui in the spoiler
had the most MOE and honest expressions since the start of this series in terms of showing how much she cares about Bridges and worried over him. Perhaps she should admit she loves him soon enough less she might never have the chance if shit happens with the BETAs.

Still powerful penetrating power it was. With this it can win the WAR! Think about BETAs having no defences whatsoever. Sounds about a win situation to me.

Finally we get to see the railgun in action and boy does it deliver! Seems it takes a while to charge and fire it though, so I guess it's pretty useless in close combat.

Cryska definitely had something done to her by her handlers. She seems to have lost her memory and her soft spot for Yuuya as well.

I suspect it had to do with her ESP malfunctions.

FACT! ESP are highly emotional triggered powers and if too much of it is in a person such as one having deep love feelings, the result might be like Cryska experiences. Signs of weakness due to over-boasting of emotions within her brain. Effectively triggering multi chemical reactions that are a problem from how you saw her collapse and be useless in the middle of the event that this happens to her.

They had no choice to do this to make her effective again and do notice her problems did not start till she started having some emotions for Bridges.

Therefore they had to do what they did to her.

Nice episode. The last half was excellent.
Was that a tear from Yui in the end of the episode?. I wonder why? :P

I hope next episode Yuuya gets to demostrate some close - combat skills with 94 Second instead of Yui. He is supposed to be good but so far he is behind in the score.

Seriously got some dumbasses in this army. Ready to sacrifice people when you could have swallowed your pride and let Yuuya do that in the first damn place to save a lot more people....

Anyway, damn good episode, Yuuya is a little closer to getting in Yui's bed. Cryska is gonna be a tough nut to crack though.

Weve seen Yuuya angry more times than happy, which hopefully changes as we go along, though with the people he constantly has to work with, Im not that hopeful. The show succeeds extensively in make me really dislike any of the characters that are not part of Argos. Scarlet Twins were starting too just based on the last episode and the beach one, but then this episode its like all is forgotten. Even worst the Russian or whatever commander lady and her subordinates are just awful personality, though I had a few favorites among them, Jacob is kind of cool. Though unfortunately it was really sad when he died after being surrounded :( ugh, his comrades could have assisted him or something not just stand there.

The in TSF communication among Top Gun, Stella, Chobi, and Macaroni were hilarious and probably my favorite part of the episode, besides Yuuya contributions to the battle. Real good and post battle moment Rail gun was awesome and definitely what I signed up for.

Kind of cant wait for more, and the BETA's still are ugly, wish we get more TSF v TSF fights.

I believe Yui fall in love with Yuuya first time she was blushing when they were stuck in the island with Cryska.

When Cryska and Inia were piloting that mecha they looks kind of murder psycho, don't know if they both somehow merge they mind together when they piloting.
Somehow Cryska lost her memory, something must been happend.
Cryska seem to have some trauma.

When I saw Yuuya firing that beam, it's remind me of a normal human machine gun, the recoin must be extremely hard to handle that weapon but American sure like machine gun.

Of course Yui is worry that's prove a lot in the preview as well.
She want to pilot 94 second instead of letting Yuuya Bridge do that.

If you take a look into Yuuya personality here he will obviously refused this.

This totally my day not due to the flashy part but the gore it produced. TBH I don't think there ever was a Rail Gun that had as a result that much gore. Quite something coming from a Rail Gun. The feeling of seeing the BETAs go pancake splat was very positive to say the least and the Duke Nukem mentality of hating aliens.

I really need to get this out of my head:
Do you think like they will win this war now with that Railgun? Like it should kill all BETAS now easily. Also they have no defence against it either.

They may have strong units that they still haven't used. And the railgun may need more improvement, it seemed like it has only 1 shot (during battle) and takes some time to charge. Don't know about winning the war with that railgun but it will probably help.

Imo, unlikely although it will give them the edge right now.

From my understanding, not every species of those aliens have been introduced so far so there's bound to be some that are resistant or can defend themselves from that Railgun. Additionally, there might be flaws and at some point, it can even be a double edged sword later on.

I'm just predicting here but a Railgun that powerful as demonstrated in this episode definitely has a flaw or two that may be exploited later on.

I'm not sure if I'm saying this right but overall, I think the Railgun will definitely give them an edge but will not achieve absolute victory in the war.

The show is slowly getting better each week, regardless of my efforts to conceal my annoyance with almost every characters in this series the friendly aura between TSF pilots as well as the relationship buildup between Yuuya and Yui made me stick with this show. even though I can't stand too much "kisama" being spilled out of everyone's mouth (even gundam unicorn didn't have this much), well those are desperate times.

* I'm really liking the rail gun, especially the area of effect damage. That's nothing but awesome,
* I'm also loving the cute side of Yui, and Yuuya is starting to have a change of heart as well, well this anime badly needs some romantic buildup to patch up the negative aura surrounding the show

I honestly have low expectations in this anime, but I think it's a good thing, as I get impressed everytime the MLATC surpasses my expectations

They can't. The Railgun can win battles for sure, but it takes too long to charge for it feasibly destroy a hive. The TSF charging it will get eaten before it even charges haflway (In hives, BETA come out from every direction and in crazier numbers.) The war will not be won by the likes of a Railgun. It will minimise losses, but to say it turns to tide of the overall war is an overstatement.

Okay, back to my immediate laser-guided karma. Death Sentence to BETA complete: Jacob Sacrificed. Trauma inflicted. Too bad it wasn't the ring-leader who was sacrificed. They might pick on Argos after this though (They probably know better than to meddle with Cryska now, so Argos' the target, they might be scared of Yuuya before, but losing a comrade can drive people to ignore such fears.) But their commander is not stupid, and knows that the political powers sent them to their deaths.

So the really screwed up guys are the USSR-Political powers. They intended to sacrifice Latrova and her squad (regardless how bad they were last episode, I feel for them being manipulated as such.) just to PREVENT the Railgun from firing. Too bad they seem largely immune to laser-guided karma being behind the scenes.

Wonder if they're the same guys behind fine-tuning Cryska again (So, they do pay attention to Alternative III after all) or her hairpins have that natural ability. Fine-tuned, Cryska's back to her berserk mode (and that's supposed to be tame as compared to removing the hairpins, she goes outright crazy.)

Yui can't stand the stress was watching Yuuya on the battlefield, she's gonna take over the Shiranui next episode. That + her tears = Yuuya-Yui Canon. Its too obvious now. Irbahim hands her the microphone, Yuuya practically talks to her personally instead of professionally (at least initially) during that scene, and Cryska will keep dashing her chances with mode-reset, so Yuuya-Yui all the way.

I'm looking foward to next week. Hopefully Yui can show us her badassery again (we haven't seen any of that, she was newbie pilot episodes, and lost in episode 5, and didn't use her full strength then.) Then we can conclude Yuuya & Yui will have awesome Eishi Babies.

I went back to watch episode 8 to figure out what Jacob did because I was so annoyed that the Punk guy who touched Inia wasn't the one killed.

Turns out he was the ringleader, except I was too furious about Punk-Guy that he didn't seem so important (he did kick Cryska, but I guess getting a nearly broken arm would have paid that back.)

Here's hoping Punk-Guy dies next episode (or whenever the next battle happens.) But they all can't die, if not Latrova's going to run out of surbodinates (USSR probably won't send her more, considering their tactics) and she will be next in BETA eating order.

I like the fact that the railgun actually created a cloud of vaporized blood.
Although that can hardly be called a railgun. EM radiation cannon is ok though.
I'm still pretty sure that any electromagnetic attack from that distance would see its trajectory quite distorted as such a distance. But I'll keep my suspension of disbelief high for this time, just because I liked it anyway.

Did they shorten the number of tanks on purpose? And they're willing to sacrifice their own TSFs. Those command pigs.

It was an impressive sight to see Yuuya blow an entire army of beta considering they the desperate circumstances they are in.

Tarisa was really cute worrying about Yuuya. He has two chicks worrying about him

Damn it. Only one unimportant character died?
But his death was pretty funny. Just beginning the fight and dying after the initial charge. So much for his amazing skills.

Also disappointed that Shiranui Second wasn't in action. Neither of the two things I was waiting for were demonstrated.

The destructive power of that railgun made me question why it wasn't used in Alternative. Something that can easily wipe out that much BETA should have been involved in far larger battles, even if it was inconvenient for movement and its charging required time.

Just a bunch of nitpicking considering how detailed Alternative was, a problem I have is that weren't the Destroyer class supposed to lead the charge? But how come in this scene, multiple tank class and Grappler class mere mixed in? And seriously, what is the point of tanks against Destroyer class. Their shields are impossible to penetrate anyways.

And the complete lack of Laser class made the whole scene seem retarded. Because of human air superiority, the BETA would have always mixed in Laser class to destroy mankind's greatest advantage over the BETA. The BETA would not have given the air superiority back in an attack.

Very disappointed with how this series is turning out. This episode was good, but not what I wanted. Hopefully, this series will improve later on into a good addition to the Muv-Luv universe.
