The creators (I think) during an interview said that they wanted to make 2 seasons for GC. That was a horrible ending for S1. With the years passing by crap makes it seem unlikely.

Well I found it horrible >_> Battle scenes lacked action, too many unexplained plots, and it was too rushed.

Back to the case I hope they make an OVA leading to S2 or just straight to S2. Since Inori was artificial I guess they can always remake her xD Eh either way I agree she needs to comeback.

The plot definitely seemed to mature 'a little' near the end, but with the way they ended it, they have to pull some bad-shit crazy plot out of their ass to get a 2nd season going.... wait... isn't that was Season 1 was all but made of??

*hopes for a S2*

Haha, I honestly think there should have been another episode leading on to the 22nd, it was too rushed as Cian said, after Shu gets the sword from flower inori, he like rips through Gai like hes nothing? what happened to all that firepower he had before?!?!? Also everyone else?! Some parts just....... yea.

Inori =(

god dam Shu's step mom is to blame! Resurecting Gai was by far the worst idea every however it was necessary to slap some sense into Shu when he was being a "tyrant".

God damit! I feel so annoyed!

I've read something about paying close attention to the ending.. not sure what they're aiming at, though. A prequel seems more likely than a sequel in my opinion.

It was a sad ending, but beautiful. My opinion of Release Your Soul completely changed.

I don't think the 'haters' (which points out all the bad flaws of GC and criticizes them) will watch them. Lots of people dropped GC and in other forums there aren't many people posting about GC more compared to the first half. The fun ended when GC ended.

Honestly GC is only an anime with great animation and sound, but a mediocre story. I can't take a person seriously if he/she claimed GC has the greatest story ever.

Personally I don't mind a second season only if they get half of the budget from Season 1. Then they can trainwreck the series for all I care without flushing huge money down the toilet. But with sales only 10,000 copies per volume compared to the big budget, the budget cutback will be certain if they decided to make another series.

It would just feel dragged out.

I remember reading here on MAL that what they meant was to make a 2-season show, 11 episodes each which turned out 22. Something like that.

If they do make season two, I really hope they don't make Shu the main character again. Sometimes I feel like animes drag their main characters out for a second adventure that only lessens their legacy from the first one.

On the other hand, I do feel like a season two to tie up the loose ends from season one would be great. Here's hoping they find the budget.

They are planning a prequel as you may know... Which makes no total sense at all if you were following the timeline of GC.

GC S1 ending was terrible, everything was solved I think, but for GC2 to come along, they're just being dim wits.

If that's really true then the second season needs three things to be enjoyable for me. Actually it's four now that I think about it:
- Bring back Inori (it worked x times with Mana so I won't accept any bullshit excuses)
- Bring back badass Shu and let him be able to see again for fuck's sake
- Rewrite the void rule regarding the age of 17 (fuck that rule; it's unnecessary)
- A HAPPY END YOU SADISTIC AND HEARTLESS MORONS

Yeah that's about it. Gimme that and we're cool.

The first season was 11 episodes and the second season was the next 11 episodes.Making it a two-season show of 22 episodes. That was what producer Yamamoto meant.

I hope for a new season but it is highly unlikely. At best, they maybe will release an OVA to give us more closure.

There were way too many question marks for a single ova episode to give us any closure...usually a single ova episode only does justice to a series that already has had the major plot points wrapped up...but on the issue of guilty crown here...what happened with Daath?? shu with 2 void genomes and nothing came out of it?? what happened to japan?? shu's father's will? dont think that was ever addressed... there are still alot of angles to address if they wanted to...without having to pull another plot twist out of their ass

For those questioning what could possibly be for a season 2, take a notice at some points I'd like to urge first:

1. Yuu, Da'at's Embodiment or however you want to dub him, was not killed. He simply seems to only disappear, and he's most likely to make a comeback. Also, he doesn't seem to age, when comparing him to what was 10 years ago in the storyline.
2. At the ending when Shu completed everything by taking in voids and whatnot with the entire structure of the tower collapsing, there is a chamber that was not destroyed.
3. An obvious derp thing to say is that Shu is alive for a second season.

Or perhaps, with a second season they can make the first season look better in comparison? Maybe that's their plan all along?! :O

Well... they DID say that Mana cannot die, being that she is Eve of the next human race, and evolution cannot be stopped.

Also, they revived Gai and Mana out of fucking nowhere... how about Inori? Only seems fair... oh wait, this whole season is based on NOT being fair to Shu *facepalm*

But didn't Gai stop Mana in her memory or in Da'at or whatever the fuck that was (from what I've understood it means that Da'at is the world of memories where everyone is seemingly happy but to stop the continuing revival of Mana, Gai hugged her and that's it)? But anyway, that would be an argument *against* a sequel.
Like I said, if they want to bring back the couple of Shu and Inori- and they better fuckin' want- then some basic void rules need to be rewritten. And the genius who wrote the ending needs to gtfo this very instant.

Holy crap! the ending is so unsatisfying! they shoulda just revieve mana and then cut her concious and then reimplant Inori..... Honesty how many times have they revieved her out of scrap crystals? and there inori is perfectly intact in the form of a blue crystalized rose!

I don't know about a second season, maybe a Guilty Crown Movie to wrap things up. I think that any movie, OVAs or second season will be focused on Daath and or the Race that created the Virus. Don't see what Shu can do to save the day being blind, unless there's some miracle that restores his sight. I would end it with Shu either dying or ending up with Ayase, or someone else. Not sitting around on a park bench, alone, listening to music, remembering Inori.
Summoning Dark: "What kind of human creates his own policeman?"

Watcman: "One who fears the dark."

"And so he should," said the enity, with satisfaction.

"Indeed. But I think you misunderstand. I am not here to keep the darkness out. I'm here to keep it in." There was a clink of metal as the shadowy watchman lifted a dark lantern and opened it's little door. Orange light cut through the blackness. "Call me . . . the Guarding Dark. Imagine how strong I must be."

The creators of GC said in an interview that they wanted to make Shu the Shinji Ikari of our time. Shinji Ikair was a Basket case, who suffered multiply psychoctic breaks during the couse of Evangelion. And that's putting it mildly. This meant all sorts of bad things for Shu, bring him to the status of a CHEW TOY. Not Heroic main character.

Why the hell isn't anyone getting the fact that this is the year 2039 where advanced technology and science exists? You got this science of Voids and the Apocalypse virus, WHY THE FUCK ISN'T THERE THE ADVANCED MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY OF RESTORING A VICTIM'S EYESIGHT?

Though I love GC with my whole heart, and even if it's one of my favourite animes, I AM SO ANGRY.

I wanted to know more about Yuu and Daath. I wanted know what happens to Daryl (DARYLXTSUGUMI AWW YEA).

AND DAMMIT, WHY MUST INORIN DIE?!?! -sobs on keyboard- That last picture of her smiling broke my heart.

But yeah. There had better be a second season. It is planned anyways. I wonder when it'll come out. Probably after the VN. Sometime in the Fall/Summer/Winter, maybe? Maybe a longer time, because I know Darker than Black's second season took two years to come out. TT.TT But I really don't wanna wait that long.

Well, just because there's some awesome technology, it doesn't have to mean that there's a cure for their eyesight and stuff. However, maybe Shu wants to keep the blindness as a mark of what happened that day.
