WHAT
WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT

Also, anyone have any idea what number of animation styles we're remotely on now? I think it's probably like 7 or 8 now with some of those crazy good ones now.

This was such a fantastic episode! Truly the pinnacle of what they could have done with the whole trustvalue hero premise imo! Love how Ling Ling became a real hero without having to pretend to be Nice anymore. I really do hope that Moon's death however is just another bad dream like in episode 1. Would suck for her to be kiled off at this point :(

First, it was really cool seeing that the fans were literally able to prevent heroes from trying to save people by wishing that they don't do anything.

Second, that ending WTF.

bruhhh.... I know that moon will die because there is a foreshadowing in the first episode, but I didn't expect that E-soul is the one who will kill her.
How did he find her and even get to that Island tho, even god eye (enlightenment/Qishi) did't know where she is XD.

For the E-Soul episodes, it could be building off of the ideas bought up in Episode 3. E-Soul was introduced in that episode too.

We saw that Wolf Girl was trying to paint a "negative" view of Firm Man (albeit for a good purpose). But if enough truly believe that a hero is secretly evil or a killer, it could cause them to form a evil persona of sort.

And it's seen in this episode that Lin Ling is being fully restricted, even knocked out, when trying to go against what was expected of him by the fans. So being forced to become a killer despite what the person think, is fully possible here.

Such a perfect and brutal end to The Commoner, Lin Lings arc. I love how much the trust and belief of the public effects things in this world in such simple and literal ways at times. The story and animation was unbelievable I was on the edge of my set a the entire episode this show it just too good.

I was really looking forward to E souls episodes up next from just his tailer, and honestly even more so now, as I NEED to know why tf he did that at the end IMMEIDATLY. 😭

Really hoping this was just another vision & that he's repeatedly seeing Moon's death so that in the future he can prevent it.

Or maybe it's just cope. I don't want Moon to be gone already!

And that concludes the Nice arc, or, should I say, the Hero Ling arc.

Moon got Riko Amanai'ed. I was expecting the cliffhanger, with Li Haoling's directing style and all, but I was not expecting E-Soul to be the one to kill her...

Well, time to learn about E-Soul! From the episode 5 preview, it seems like E-Soul has a darker approach to hero-ing. Still, he seems to have his reasons: his character PV seems to indicate a much heavier background story compared to Lin Ling's. Based on his character PV – where he seems to struggle against an evil version of himself – I think GentleGale is onto something and that he probably either knew someone who got turned evil by trust or is at risk of becoming evil himself due to trust. I guess it could be really interesting to explore the concept of a person who is equally trusted and feared.

Still; why the heck would E-Soul kill Moon? I don't get it.

Anyways, speculating is pointless. I think the Lin Ling arc was wrapped up rather well, with my only question being why Lin Ling had the vision of a dead Moon in the first episode.

What an episode! This has actually become my favorite show of the Spring. But I guess this wasn't a hallucination at the end this time. Maybe the last time was more like a premonition? Literally like WTF?! And just when it felt so happy. Never trust this, I keep forgetting he also writes Link Click!

It was incredibly good, the way the characters were able to tie their stories together so well, the foreshadowing parts and the fact that he was a real hero. I'm starting to think that the real villains are heroic agencys. The show must to go on, so I wouldn't be surprised if they're the ones who even create the evil characters. We say goodbye to the first main character, Lin, and continue through in the next episode e soul. The use drawings and animations is still very impressive, but I am very curious to see new parts about ost and art.
My rating for this episode is 8/10 solid.

Nice is dead, and the whole world knows it. I'm glad Lin Ling was able to break free from that identity. God Eye's such a troll for baiting him with a hologram. But here's hoping this new truer image from this fiasco has considerably fewer drawbacks than Nice's.

That episode 1 cliffhanger returned with a vengeance. I had to pick my jaw up from the floor after that one...

I think that if they had forced him to stay as Nice he would have gone out the same way as the original even though it turned out the hostage Moon was a fake. But for all that he has cast off the persona of Nice the game is not ready to let him as it seems the former fans of Nice have placed their trust in him now.

That after credits scene was something else though, Moon did not deserve that, but is she really dead? She looks almost the same as she dead at the end of episode one so I can't help but think something else is going on here.

So you got Paragon AND Jeopardy in the same ep with the pinnacle of the animation for now. The ending is perfect, like why did e soul killed moon!? It makes a lot of sense for heroes to have rivalries, but this goes way too far my man.

Bruh wtf, not Haolin the director pulling another Toji shooting gun moment again.
Did it previously in Link Click S2 and now here with To Be Hero X.
This man must've been a big fan of the Hidden Inventory Arc.

This transition into E-Soul's arc is gonna very interesting for sure.

@detarameMAL How did E-soul even find the island? is this maybe related to the will of the audience being "Moon is Dead" and so forced a hero to make her dead?

What an action packed show. The visuals and animation during the fighting scenes were good as usual. The songs were definitely fitting as well. But Moon got murdered AGAIN? That episode 1 foreshadowing is insane. But I guess this ensures that fans continue to believe she was dead already. Crazy cliffhanger though. Wow.

Is it really E-Soul at the end of the episode? I don't think this time it was some dream/premonition/whatever that happened before. But what if it wasn't in fact Moon again, as has happened before? But if we assume that it was indeed Moon this time, who's to say that whoever did it wasn't a villain with powers of illusion, posing as E-Soul and fooling the heroes and us (this episode's villain used a robot to impersonate Moon, let's not forget)? In fact, what if it was actually E-Soul but he's being controlled/possessed by something? Or is E-Soul under the effect of an illusion? We can't blindly trust the cliffhangers we see in this show, remember episode 01 (we're dealing with the director of Link Click too, after all).

The show potentially wants us to be angry and/or think it was E-Soul. It's not hard to deduce that. But it could be some kind of misdirection (even if it is E-Soul in the end), we don't know what actually happened and/or what followed from that yet. Another possibility is that it could be something to do with the tournament, and that E-Soul actually did it since, as I understand it, the heroes can fight each other since they're aiming for the title of X (just remember the hero who attacked Lin Ling in episode 2 when he was exploring the hideout of the “villain” from episode 2). What's more, they're on a deserted island with no one apparently watching them, so they can theoretically commit certain atrocities without losing people's trust if no one finds out.

Amazing episode and great 'conclusion' to Nice's arc. Love how the 'dream' wasn't just some weak plot point and was brought back into the spotlight. That said, the plot twists thus far have been devious. What a show.

Great episode. I loved how Lin Ling discarded the Nice persona and became his own hero. I'm guessing the rest of the story is gonna pivot around the fact that he's shown anybody can become a hero.

I know we didn't get to see much of the real Nice, but it's kinda sad how this episode was like a farewell to him or at least his relevance in the story (perhaps not). Though this is Nice's last episode, not Lin Ling's, so we'll probably see more of him throughout the show. I haven't seen much of the other characters, but was that E-Soul at the end there? I'm starting to get The Boys vibes from this.

Poor Moon couldn't catch a break. Stuck being a hero, stranded on an abandoned island, and now, well, probably dead. But who knows? For all we know, that could've been a ketchup gun he shot Moon with. Hahaha.....ah. Felt a bit random that Lin Ling visited her at the end there. I wonder how she instantly recognized him. Was waiting for her to ask about his appearance and all that, but I guess that's never gonna happen, now :/
