@EGG_KING_ i mean, the guy was just straight hating on her. it's strange to me that people are complaining about a shounen character created in 2002 (yes, that time before smartphones, when only around 10% of the world’s population had access to the internet). what do you expect from a 15 year old girl? for her to be some wise old woman? she’s no different from other characters of her time; a typical heroine designed for a juvenile audience. which was a new thing back then, and kind of unique unlike today, where everything is just a copy of one and another

Wasn't she supposed to be the one that rival's Kirito? Her start in the first couple of episodes really interested me, but she never grabbed my attention afterwards. Then in SAO Alicization she did some cool stuff as the beginning by quickly faded into the background again (and utterly disappointed me in War of Underworld arc). Edit: Forgot about Mother's Rosario arc oops, like mentioned above, that was her only good arc. Unfortunate that it didn't last very long.

The part that I think is most interesting about her is how she managed to get so strong after the start she had, so I think the SAO Progressive movies could be promising in that regard.

I'm pretty sure the guy was just giving his opinion that she was a generic main girl. Even if she was created quite a while ago it doesn't change how she is a bit generic. Tons of unique, well written female characters were made around her time so it wasn't impossible to write a good female character or anything.
