Cute, an episode foxed on Roxy including some of her family. She's probably the sweetest character from the main cast and I just find her character chemistry with her family to be charming.

It was interesting to see part of her hometown though. And lol, Elinalise had her "fun time" again because go figure.

From the Millis Continent and Millishion, onwards to the Central Continent for the Dead End Party. It's funny how adventurers come to spar with Ruijerd, only to be beaten to a pulp.

The seasickness is getting worse for Eris and Rudeus, while Ruijerd is used to the experience. Just one would really wander where to start finding the family and the rest who's gone ablaze and missing.

On the other side, there's Roxy, Elinalise and Talhand on their own journey. Roxy's conversation with the horse guy adventurer Nokopara for just about everything and with their past, Nokopara's history with the Dead End party in the 1st Cour sure almost triggered Roxy's PTSD. Nokopara has changed his way of living by being a married father and parent, and questioning her about her family and her ability of using telepathy that's non-existent. The trip back home this time...feels different.

The reason?
Roxy being born without the Migurdia tribe's ability to use telepathy that the average born Migurd can do (those "clacking" sounds), Roxy feels alienated even after coming back home for a significant amount of time. Her parents are definitely pleased to see her again, but it's very obvious that the obfuscation of the telepathy ability has led her to live like an outcast during her growing-up years. But still, this is her family, and this is all she has.

Getting over this burden for all her life hasn't been easy, and forgiveness is given. The humour of Roxy's parents still remembering Rudeus, tagging along with his Dead End party sure gave her a good shock (damn, she almost could've coincidentally meet Rudeus). Ellinalise sure didn't learn her lesson from before doing her usual sexual service, and the trio they're on the road again towards the Demon Continent, with the same objective as Rudeus, Eris and Ruijerd to find their companions.

The new arc will be starting soon...but for now, La Roxy needs all the love and support she can get.
This episode like the last HAS A LOT OF HEART.

Rudy, Eris, and Ruijerd are now on their way to the central continent whereas Roxy who's looking for Rudy and his family with Elinalise and the other guy. Roxy met Nokopara in Ricalis city and then went back to her village, the village of Migurd. But, she has a lot of memories about this place, so it's quite a different feeling for her since she ran away in the first place. It's cool to see so many Roxy in the village. LOL

But, looks like this time it was Roxy's turn to reunite with her family. Again, she couldn't keep her emotions under control and as expected cried just like anyone would. :( Once again, that hug was so precious. I'm so happy for her. Another warm episode. Elinalise... LMAO.

An episode focused on Roxy and it was beautiful. We finally got to know her circumstances for leaving home and it was quite depressing. Thou I'm glad she finally reunited with her parents, that moment was sweet. Also she now knows Rudeus is safe. Looking forward to the day she reunites with him, even thou it's gonna take forever.

It's Roxy's side of story this time, coming back to her village after a while, reuniting with her parents. Clearly a memory to cherish for, and gladly she also got to know about Rudeus and the identity of Dead end.

Again Elinalise, just how much I missed her...

Mark my words, all ye who yet to apprehend the true love of Roxy! All love shall be for Roxy! That is the absolute truth! Both Rudeus and I will stand for this truth! Love, that is the message of god! Love, that is the absolute truth! Why is there still little faith? Because the foolish attempt to conceal love! SO WE MUST SPEAK OF THAT WHICH IS CONCEALED! That which conceal love! The first is waifu! The second is media! In social media such as this, waifu war has become commonplace. In our otaku society, waifu war has swelled and transformed into the highest authority in the anime community. We have a host of taboos implanted into our minds by different opinion and through the mass media but the greatest taboo of all is to not think upon Roxy! We have put aside any thought of Roxy! We are obliged to act as if other waifu will continue for eternity! And the reason is because everything is futile, everything is meaningless before the upcoming season, Worry not my brothers for ye shall imbrace in true holy of Roxyness! Join me Brothers and I will disseminate the love of our God Roxy! FOR THAT IS THE MESSAGE OF GOD!

Glad to have a Roxy centric episode after quite some time.

Her reunion with her parents was great, I couldn't help but get emotional when Roxy teared up and kept trying to wipe away her tears but just couldn't stop them.

Looks like she's aware that Rudeus was Dead End and even met her parents, the search is on for the missing Greyrats.

Roxy's Dad saying he would never accept it was funny. xD

Cool episode. A Roxy based episode was missing at this point glad they did it. I feel the whole telepathy thing that isolated her was a little off at least I wish I felt a little more emotion during it. It wasn’t a 5/5 but it is very necessary plot-wise so that we are aware on what Roxy is doing and why the hell hasn’t she found Rudeus yet.

The beginning of the episode reminded me of that guy that was happy about getting beat up by Kimbo Slice XD.

Ah, another touching reunion. So that's why Roxy left. I don't know about telepathy but, it's kinda like a child that moves to another country before learning there mother tongue and then suddenly moving back later and not understanding what people are saying.

Makes me wonder did her parents learn languages so they could teach Roxy. That takes some dedication. Great parents.

The moment Roxy realizes she already found Rudy was priceless. Not sure how this season is going to end. With so much to explore and the quest to get back to some kind of normalcy, I hope we get another season next year.

After back to back emotionally heavy episodes we get a calmer relaxing mostly Roxy episode. Besides the first few minutes with our Dead End trio traveling then getting on yet another ship, this time with Ruijerd, we get a Roxy episode with some insight and backstory. Roxy had a rough childhood being born with her tribes signature telepathy. Which made her an outcast and hate her home. The scenes where she first walked through the village and couldn't hear the people speaking to her telepathically but instead just heard that harsh ice cracking sound were really sad.

I know I said a mostly relaxing episode but the part where Roxy realized how leaving home hurt her parents and her and her mom started crying I teared up too. Roxy was never a burden on them as she always thought. I'm glad that Roxy did end up staying the night and reconciling with her parents. Also her learning from them, and Nokopara in the earlier scene, about Rudy and Dead End being the same thing. She couldn't even fathom it a few episodes ago but now it all makes sense. Knowing that Rudy is safe puts Roxy at ease and she can focus on finding the other members of the greyrat family.

Despite how mundane the episode was in terms of plot movement and was a little sad with a character being cut of course with the first part of the episode focusing on the Dead End trio finally moving towards the Central Continent, this episode was actually a lot better than I expected and was a pretty great episode focusing on Roxy and her side of the story at the Demon Continent, and fleshed out her character and emotions more than even the light novel did for me. I did wish that she and her parents spoke in Demon God Tongue but since they were all speaking the same language together with no one else there with different languages to adjust to unlike when Rudeus was there, so you had clear distinctions between languages and the script had to be adjusted to take that into account, the emotions were clearly there and I've never seen crying and breakdowns look so raw and genuine with Roxy's stoic face, to shock, to her eyes subtly watering up and her trying to desparetly clear those out to a complete breakdown of tears and feelings after she recognized how much her parents cared for her despite her lack of telepathy from when she was young.

In a way, Roxy despite being an adult was a kid for all those years and I can relate to that in a way, since I viewed myself differently from the rest of my family given how I can't speak any Indian languages, wasn't raised in India at all unlike everyone and whenever I would go home, they would all speak in Hindi or Tamil while I just nod away while feeling alienated. During those vacations, I always wanted to run away home and never saw anyone eye to eye. Hell, I'm in Canada now and I'm still very distant with most of my family except my parents, who I was even distant with a year ago for many, many months without even texting them how I'm doing during a global pandemic. It took my parents flying all the way from UAE to Canada to surprise me and have real talks with me, try to open me up from my shell besides my comfort zone here and I had similar feelings to with Roxy as well as my own parents. Despite not much being said or done, it felt so powerful and entrancing to watch. The voice acting and visuals really did this justice for that ordeal.

Also enjoyed her conversation with Nokopara too and catching up, fleshes out both of their characters a lot more and its nice seeing Roxy's past in a way with her comrade. Shame that the others are gone now, particularly Blaze who went out at the end of the first part.

As a LN reader, some changes are what they are and I could be upset, but the episode felt so organic and raw, and felt so real with dialogue being limited but powerful, that it all connected with me really well. This was a great episode, even if it wasn't the most integral one to the overall story. Roxy I always felt deserved more characterization and while this was there in the LNs too, the anime made me connect with this a lot more. Well done Bind. It ain't a 1:1 episode as a whole, particularly with the start, but this was still magnificent stuff. More to why I love both medium experiences separately and even more together. Extremely looking forward to those final 5 episodes.

I've been missing the Roxy screentime so I'm glad we got an episode focused on her. Learning about her backstory was emotional, especially as we see how alienated she felt by not being able to use telepathy. The reunion with her parents was sweet, and I'm glad she got confirmation that Rudy is doing ok. Definitely needed an episode like this after the crazy drama of the previous two.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

I liked this episode more than the last one. Struggles of communication is a topic I enjoy very much, buuuuut Roxy could stand to stop expositing her backstory to us so much and allow us to infer the alienation.

It already hammered it home fairly well within the episode itself during the village sequence, even having effective usage of internal dialogue yet still kept this exposition about her alienation. I don't understand and I mention it because it stands out like a sore thumb in an episode / sequence of the episode that I generally liked.

It's time to go to the Central Continent. It's been a long, long ride. But the journey is coming to an end soon. All the warriors/adventures that wanted to fight against Rujierd were beaten to a pulp in a second. No one's a match against him for now. Anyway, the boat scene was hiliarious. This time, even Rudeus was sea sick. Rudeus' future plans are carved into his brain, looking for his family members while enjoying the adventure.

Roxy's conversation with Nokopara (you know, JEAN!) was fun for most of the part. Talking about each others past while insulting each other in a friendly way. Both of them changed a lot. Nokpara learnt his lesson this time. It ended up with Roxy almost freaking/passing out because he ended up talking about the superd. It's time to meet her family. Even though the relationship between her and her village aren't on good terms because she's a heretic who can't use telepathy.

No one was happy with her return, that's what I thought. Her parents were pleased to see her again. Both of them started to cry and this made me tear up for real. Roxy's past was heartbreaking. I'm glad that her family is very supportive despite them being affected by being ''different''. That's what you call a family.

And finally, Roxy heard about Rudeus from her parents. She's relieved and seems like she's not going to meet him. A good choice, it's better to look for the other missing family members. It's going to be a long journey for them.

A few more episodes until the GREAT arc.

This side story established why Roxy is my 2nd favorite heroine in the series. Despite the initial impressions she gave off when she was first introduced, she turned out to be a very well-presented character. Her backstory hit more emotionally than I expected. It really has to suck too much to be in her position; she was essentially treated like a deaf person and an outcast simultaneously when she was young due to being born unable to use telepathy to communicate, and it's not like the rest of the village are really gonna agree to learn one mouth-spoken language just to talk to one "mute" individual. Even when she returned for a visit after all those years away from home, she still feels unwelcome. Hell she felt out of place when she sees/hears her parents using telepathy to talk to each other at one point. Regardless of that, her parents love her regardless of her circumstances, and that's something that doesn't need to be transmitted into words or even telepathic signals. So organic and raw (with some nice humor to boot).
I also liked the little segment with her and Nokopara. I'm glad it established the latter as more than just a scrub baddie that people would think he is from Part 1. Apparently the author stated that the anime did that part better than in the LN.
Again, this is another example of practically everything I wanted from a fantasy anime. Great storybuilding, great world immersion, great character writing. Looking forward to the next episodes, cause I heard volume 6 will be crazy.

I'm 100% sure that the anime would do much better without constant sexual scenes and backstories... We really don't need a reminder that Elina sleeps with every Lizard she finds on the side road..

Anyway, ignoring that as usual, we got to see Roxy speaking with a horse in a bar and go back to her parents and make up... Saw Eris throw up a couple of times and... Yeah.. You could skip this and the previous episode entirely and you wouldn't miss anything really.

While the episode itself was well done, I’m a little bothered with how people might perceive their adventures and traveling. When they say they’re going to Central Continent people have no idea what it means or what it meant to cross from Demon Continent to Millis continent as an example. Or when Ruijerd says they still have a long way to go.
Again I felt the anime could’ve simply showed the world map a few times and in more detail maybe even in the opening segments for a few seconds so the viewers could see just what kind of route they’re taking and how they’re traveling, how much they’ve left till their destination and so on. That might’ve added to the sense of adventure.

Shame about Therese btw I do hope we can see her in the OVA.

Holy shit! That's the SAME MF'er that tried to blackmail Rudy?! Damnit man, Why is an awesome and nice person like Roxy in a party with that scumbag(but I guess he changed somewhat but I HATED him before)! I was hoping it was just about person of the same race! 😩😡 Seriously though wtf Roxy, unless she has been attacked by Superd or something which I doubt since that was so long ago, you can't handle a conversation about them surrounded by people with none of them around at all? She would ALREADY have known or probably figured out that Rudy was with the same party and we wouldn't have had "Missed Connections" if she wasn't behaving like Eris did when she first met Ruijerd. Ugh 🤦🏼

Also I really wish she would have just SPOKEN to those people that are trying to speak to her telepathically! If she just said "For some reason I can't understand that" then she would have let go of all this perceived bias against her. Maybe it was prevalent back then somewhat but definitely not from her parents or the kid and her friends that she just healed/helped.

I really love Roxy but with her getting clicked at and not saying anything, my frustrations with Rudy not healing Eris at least once in between when he was puking, and how the only legitimate thing that happened to progress the story being that she found out/realized that Rudy was in that party, for me this was definitely a weaker episode of the second half of the season. I definitely want them to include as MUCH as possible of the LN content and I love character development but I really want story progression too and we've been stagnant in that regard in several episodes and it's more than half over 😩

I wish they cut out her healing the kid's cut and maybe added something else to this episode. We only have what FIVE episodes left?! And they put an entire episode where only one thing progressed the story, that just bummed me out.

I guess I'm happy that we got Roxy, and we got some backstory and character development but with us only five episodes before the season ends and with how AMAZING and emotionally impactful last episode was this one kind of fell flat for me except for the last 4-5 minutes.

Btw was Elinalise having an orgy again or just one guy? Seriously if I was her or one of the guys I'd be REALLY pissed to get C-blocked mid coitus! She should knock on the door or maybe Elinalise should have left a note, but you are killing this ladies sex life.

Yeah I really would have loved to see her! And Rudy's confusion when he first sees her as she looks just or a lot like Zenith just with the mole in a different place(right?). And yeah that map thing in the intro would have been nice! Like the original X with one color for Rudy/Dead end and show their path from place to place with dots. And then another X with another color showing Roxy and her parties dots from place to place.

Hell even show where Paul first got teleported and show his direction over the last two years(and Geese too). Even if it was only 5-7 seconds on screen then the people who are Anime only could have paused to get a general idea. Also a little Map scale that shows the Milage or KM on the map to give everyone a general idea of how far everything actually is away from each other would have been great too!

This episode is good in a vaccum but comparing to the previous episode that has the same theme of familial reconciliation this one falls short only because at this point in the story there was very little focus on Roxy. Its a great episode but I think this will hit harder when I see more of Roxy's journey. Great way to introduce her backstory for her though.

It's still season 1, if you were to watch this as a whole then it would feel more completed versus us viewers who had a time gap to wait for more development while the anime was in production though.

That actually makes a lot of sense. But still, long time fans should really be given more respect. Nothing has happened so far that will make me want to know anything more about Roxxy, random forest people, etc I'm thoroughly invested in Rudeus' journey, Ghislaine, the fate of his family, things like that are so much more important to me than Loli who exists only because Japan is addicted to Lolis.

Was really nice episode, but I really do hate looking at that ugly horse face though to be honest

Im kind of sad this scene from the manga wasn't included

but I guess it would of been weird to include considering the emotions the episode wanted to focus on

If you still can't figure out why Roxy is important to the story especially Rudeus then I don't think this is the show for you, they couldn't exactly spell it out any more, nothing has been filler and has added to the story, it's just your not expecting anything shown in previous episodes to come up later which if you rewatched the episodes you have already seen that it's happened multiple times.

Good story telling and character writing takes time to unpack.
