This was like watching an autobiography movie but features Rimuru retelling his tales and adventures.

From a storytelling perspective, there's not much development but it's kinda important to know the overview of the plot. Plus, they got some of the most important characters in this season from that room.

The reincarnation origin story of Rimuru glanced all over again with the re-tracing of the entire journey with friends and comrades made for a big family, made possibly worse by Rimuru's decision to "love humans, love everyone". But with the hope to consume 10,000 humans and resurrect Shion and the others with a 3% success rate, and the regret to reverse his human-hearted ideology, there's no turning back, and only the perchance of moving forward.

But wherever Rimuru may go, Tempest will go as well, and that's a great sign. Rimuru on his development to become a Demon Lord is pretty much a needed necessity now to bond them altogether and exact more "justice" for peace-making threats to seal more good diplomatic relationships, their tried-and-true effort still stands for a legion of humans and monsters together in harmony.

The comeback coup d'etat of Tempest to tackle ALL sides of the Kingdom of Falmuth's forces in full force, and the eventual battle of one slime vs. all 20,000 in amount of forces (for twice the consumption of the Demon Lord power replenishment), but first, the removal of the double-barrier and another one in its place with Shuna and Myulan before the action can take place. Also, not forgetting that Demon Lord Clayman could still take advantage of this war by any means possible.

With that said, let the war games begin!

Their conversation was heartwarming, and their Loyalty was amazing, everyone loves Rimuru.

Let Rimuru fight 20,000 humans and the strategy begins!

This episode was basically the buildup for what's about to come. Rimuru took a great decision there. Hyped for next week.

I'm wondering what is Rimuru's true plan. Surely consuming 20,000 human will let him evolved to "True Demon Lord" but since Clayman also aim at that too, there might be a twist to the plan. And why there's "True" in the first place, there's another type of Demon Lord?

Recap? except the first 20-30 sec where Rimuru explains the story of Demon Lord evoluton there wasnt any recap. If you are thinking about Rimuru telling the other that he is Reincarnated that happened in LN/manga. It would be pretty boring to just watch the conference room while he explains it so its better to show the visuals while he's telling his story.

Episode was more on the boring side, basically being half recap episode of season 1 and half extremely obvious preparations, feel a little let down tbh. Build up episodes usually are more engaging that this, but this just reminded me of overlord lol. It does definitely hype up the fight episode that's hopefully next, but I honestly can't say the execution was the best

It's a quite slow paced episode this week, but at least we received confirmation on Rimuru's intentions this episode (his plan on becoming a Demon Lord).

16:58 of expository dialogue. This show really has been weak all season. At least Rimuru dropped his stupid monotone delivery at the end and showed something that resembled emotion.
The payoff better be good the next couple of episodes

As much as I dislike this season's pacing the table conversation is important in the show, but yh it must be awful for anime onlys you've been blue balled for the 75th time this season.

The payoff will be good for the final few episodes and especially s2 part 2 literally there's so much action in that arc that it's impossible to butcher (8bit if you mess it up i stg)

We are already 9 episodes in.. 3 episodes left..
where the hell is the "THIS WILL BE THE DARKEST SLIME SEASON"..
only a single main cast died and she is being resurrected.. why even bother..
and this whole episode felt like a boring unnecessary filler with conversation that could have been shortened but were only stretched just to have the rimuru say that he gonna kill the soldiers..
I have a feeling that Rimuru will most likely not start his attack in next episode too

Lots of recapping and talking about the upcoming plans in this episode. So not a lot going on other than some prep work to get ready for Rimuru to become a demon lord. This episode definitely sets up the final couple of episodes to he absolutely crazy with Rimuru going to eat the ten thousand souls and his other forces to each go after one of the barrier generator spots. Setting up a rematch with the otherworlders. I'm glad that Rimuru could tell his allies there he's also from another world and they still accept him. Rimuru is still Rimuru after all. Now he's about to become Demon Lord Rimuru.

I loved watching Gabiru and his boys.

Rimuru made his intentions clear, to become a Demon Lord. There is also what Clayman is planning. Will he get in the way of Rimuru?
Too bad we'll have to wait for next week's episode to find out.

And that's still a recap. There's 20 seconds of nothing for each line Rimuru said, and we have minutes of sobbing after that. They mentioned already known information repeatedly and includes gag scenes with no narrative purposes. We have 20 minutes and there are only 2 things completed: Rimuru opening up to his subordinates and deciding who attack who. Literally half the episode can be cut and the plot can progress as normal. If that's not "dragged out" i don't know what is.

I really want to see the reactions of the Falmuth Soldiers getting slaughtered one
by one by Rimuru. But The most important thing this series lacks is emotion cuz it is still happy go lucky even when many people died. It would have been better if Rimuru spoke a bit more seriously for the next couple of episodes.

Bye-Bye!!

It's not weak in my opinion, because what the season need is mostly character development. These beast people and mjurran and Millim's background is needed for the rest of the story. But I'm sure that you'll enjoy the remaining episodes. GOOD DAY!

We have different opinions I guess. I agree with @Altter. I didn't read the manga/LN, so I'm just hyped for the war without knowing what's coming, but then they pull this episode...

Episode goes from 0:00 to 0:16 and 1:46 to 22:06 (20min35s) after discarding opening and ending.
0:00 to 0:16 (0min15s) - Intro
1:46 to 3:06 (1min20s) - Demon Lord recap
3:06 to 4:00 (0min55s) - Last episode recap (Rimuru telling everyone he is gonna become a demon lord to try to resurrect everyone)
3:06 to 5:50 (2min45s) - Rimuru recap (Rimuru telling everyone he was a human in his previous life)
5:50 to 9:02 (3min10s) - Rimuru takes blame, everyone reacts to Rimuru taking the blame and try to blame themselves

Even if we ignore the recap, these first 7.5min felt really boring. I had been waiting since last season for Rimuru to tell at least someone he was once a human, then it finally happens and it's so underwhelming. Instead of focusing on Rimuru being an otherworlder, they completely ignored that part and focused only on the part where Rimuru blames himself for what happened. Then they are like "yeah who cares you are an otherworlder or ex-human, for us you are Rimuru". This couldn't have been presented in a more boring way. Whether the original source did this the same way or it's just in the anime's script is irrelevant, it doesn't change the fact it was so badly written.

The rest of the episode, except for the last 3 minutes, was them in the room talking about things we [the viewers] already knew, plus a few mini recap-scenes. Like you said, "it would be pretty boring to just watch the conference room while he explains", and ironically this is exactly what happens for the rest of the episode. So yeah, pretty boring episode.

The last 3 minutes are the only decent part because it's the set up for the start of the war next episode (which we expected to happen in the second half of this episode instead).

well that's Really a good explanation. But let me say one thing, we can't go fighting them on the spot without a proper planning. I agree with you for those 7 min, it's really boring. But a war should not be done in 1 episode, so there's a proper direction and I'm sure that the director is following Light novel... So you guys felt that it's dragged..

Just my opinion only!

Hoping that the final episodes for this cour will be heavily action and progress oriented since we've been getting a lot of build-up to get to this point.
Granted I understand and appreciate the next for explanation and reflection, but having it episode after episode feels like attempts to fill and stretch out time. The retelling of the Dragon story could have been heavily condensed, or straight up happened off-screen since the viewer saw it just last episode and the entire Rimuru flashback lost its emphasis as a result of the constant flashbacks and feeling it was stretched out.

Expecting a lot more to actually happen in the next part of the season, because this half has unfortunately suffered for needing to lay a lot of groundwork :S

What a shit episode... The last 2 episode were boring as hell. Legit nothing happend.. The recap portion was half of the episode so I really disliked that part. I found myself thinking that this episode really dragged on to build up the next episode. Unfortunately, they didn't really do the build up correctly and had me falling asleep by the time new stuff happened. After that, it only went up to everyone walking up to their stations right before battle which was another big fuck you to the people who wait each week for an episode. Guess I'll be seeing you guys in another week...
