| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Blood Sacrifice! Well that escalated. Naofumi planned to use his Curse Shield but apparently, anger caused an ever stronger power to emerge. If it wasn't for his friends, that would of been much worse for him. Tbh though, I'm glad the Pope got what he deserved. What a bastard. |

| I don't know of this episode specially viewers and commentator will considered the epic success story or epic failed story??... Base what I observed during i watch this episode, the fight scene is too great compared to last episode that more chit chat (wording only less battle).. But when Naofumi activated the Lvl 3 curse shield, I was being confuse when I compared to manga and that series, that scene is too to far difference and they adding the scenes including the pope use the bow above the cky and suddenly there lots of arrow appeared everywhere.. And the appeared of 3 harems that only rapthalia can do that to cold down the rage shield.. But the blood sacrifice.. This the best ever and considered it perfectly skill for Naofumi... |

| After an episode filled with chatting, we have this one filled with action and by that everything is balanced. :) Merlomarc's queen is thicc and powerful. I'm wondering why she was kinda in the background all the time, leaving everything in her husband's inefficient hands that lacked professionalism as required from a ruler (even acting ruler) of a country. Pope is gone. He was defeated in style, however he was a fine villain. Too bad we won't likely see more of him in the future. What I didn't like was this awkward moment when the Pope loaded his ultimate attack and Heroes were just watching, peacefully chatting and Naofumi's team even found some time to calm down his rage. This episode was not a final one, so I'm curious about the quality of the season's finale. Will we get something similar, or better/worse than clash with the Pope? We will see in a couple of weeks. |

Anyway for the second episode in a row we have all the heroes just standing there doing nothing while the pope is charging up an ultimate ability for no reason. Like seriously, why? Bit of a drawn-out fight in general but it was alright. The blood sacrifice finale was pretty cool |

| Though the narration and the plot's logic in the previous episode felt cruelly lacking, this episode has shown the strenghts of this anime. It shines at being flashy, only leading an unworthy of mention narration up to times a bit more valuable, such as this episode, for instance. Damned be the inconsistency, leaving us unsatisfied because of two halves that, if combined in a twisted way, would have honestly proven so enjoyable... |

| I wouldn't have minded at all if Naofumi just let the rage take over. Would've defeated the pope in an instant and safe everyone else. This episode was quite some action and intensity, but somehow I didn't find it that enjoyable. Perhaps because I hate the other heroes so much, that sword and bow dudes dven piss me off more than the spear dude... They better kill or torture that malty next episode lole |

| The fight and how almost everything led up to its end is so different from the manga, I don't know how it went with the LN but I dont like how the anime had Naofumi ask those 3 dumbasses' for help to the point of him lowering his head and all that friendship bs talk they were doing. The animation was pretty good tho, the fight was cool but the dialogues were ugh. I can't tell if I liked it or not, but more into the like part cause of how cool the battle was. |

| What an episode! OMFG! That was quite a gruesome finishing move... When Rise started to play during the battle, man, i got hyped! haha All the heroes are working together now and i'm honestly very happy about that. I still think Motoyasu is a boob though haha |

| Goddamn... that was awesome. When the OST dropped and everything about this episode was awesome! Blood Sacrifice was awesome. So eerie and demonic, and that "Pope" was utterly decimated, so much blood...! |

| I like this show but this episode felt really weak for me. Naofumi wasn't even angry and it didn't feel like he necessarily had to use rage shield. The "voice" that tried to make Naofumi angry didn't make an impact on the viewer and wasn't even a good flashback, felt kinda forced to me (Fitoria saying not to use the rage shield anymore made a bigger impact lol). Well it was acceptable but suddenly it turned to his friends telling him good things and they were all honest and amazing. As a viewer I couldn't relate to Naofumi this time around (previously it was done so well tho.) After this kinda "weak" moment for me the fight continued and suddenly an all out skill came from Naofumi making him almost die (where did he build up this rage suddenly, when he was friendly and co-operated with other heroes?). I think they rushed this or idk but it felt bad. |
| my god im so happy this fight is finally over it was so good to see that pope first get his weapon broken and then crushed like he did cause he was really annoying and for Naofumi skill he did it did just like it sounded and he had to pay a price for it with his own blood which was pretty awesome tbh as yes he is strong but a lot goes into it though overall a good ep nonetheless am looking forward to the next ep |

| I can't believe this series is still getting worse with each episode. I thought it already hit rock bottom couple episodes ago but it keeps digging. Every single thing about this episode was awful. Every. Single.Thing. Animation, choreography, writing, directing, the use of the worst cliches in anime. Everything. You have to try really hard to fuck up everything at once. I should get a compensation for watching it for free... |

| Having only read the manga and not the LN, I was not sure what to expect considering the very different ending last week. Have to say the manga was infinitely more impactful than this episode, though it still had its merits. Much more of a cliffhanger too. Watching the anime I felt no sense of urgency or that any of the main cast was in any danger. Just looking forward to next week's episode. Even if it's not the same, it'll still be close. That much won't change. |

| I swear this show does all the good things at the wrong times. Naofumi putting all the heroes in their place, becoming the devil but being saved through nakama power (although that scene wasn't really done as good as it could've been). Like better timing on events and this show could've been a masterpiece And lul Melty acting like she's been best buds with Naofumi this whole time BLOODMIESTER said: Not a big fan of this episode. Probably the best one since the first few episodes though. Maybe my expectations have been too high but again the animation has been lackluster. Maybe its time I just lower the bar, JoJo and Youjo Senki have been spoiling me. tbf Youjo Senki has some really good animation lmao |

| lol nice fanservice with the MILF queen at the start. The plot conveniences continue to stack up. Suddenly the queen is able to muster a massive force on short notice, despite not being in the story for most of the last 20 episodes, and apparently having no control over the country when she is abroad on some vague diplomatic mission. Why didn't she send troops to get Malty and the King under control from the very beginning? Or better yet, leave a loyal contingent in place to maintain sovereignty in her absence. Next, more fighting. Raphtalia closes to melee distance with the pope. But they cross swords once and then a hard cut puts Raphtalia back next to Naofumi and Filo. How did she not overpower him in an instant and end the fight right there? The directing in this episode is terrible! Then Noafumi goes off on a super edgy ragefest (even though he still has nowhere near enough reason to have "more rage than a dragon", whatever that is supposed to mean). Fortunately, the loli waifu harem is there to save the brooding, angsty protagonist, with fake sentimental drivel about how he treated them like "real people" and not "objects". Too bad that the story has viewed these "characters" as nothing BUT objects! Inadequate, rushed character development, cliched tropes, and a lame plot that leaves them nothing to do but say "Naofumi Sama!" over and over again. But no; these characters are rEaL PeOpLe! To top it all off, the other three heroes join them in repeating banal one-liners about how friendship should prevail and whatnot - despite having had zero character development up to this point that would make it in any way believable for them to be delivering this kind of hackneyed dialogue. As I've said many times before, the other heroes don't have characters; they are just vehicles to serve whatever purpose the plot requires of them at the moment. And do I need to point out that this episode featured yet more endless talking while the pope powered up some stupid attack? Horrible writing! This is the real problem with the episode (to say nothing of the series as a whole). These characters haven't had enough development or characterization to make any of this moralizing earned. Ultimately, what little meaning there is to the narrative boils down to poorly-established, trite platitudes, driven by forced emotional conflict. |

| I liked stuff that happened, but not how it happened. Or to be more precise, action scenes. They weren't bad, but still didn't feel worth the time they took. That fight took whole episode and the only scenes I think were good were ones with curse shield, all the rest could've been much shorter. Oh, and Queen getting dressed was fine too. More than fine actually :) |
| The combo attacks really were impressive and beautiful. Raphtalia's,Melty's and Filo's words while doing well in helping Naofumi break free of the rage also served to show the depth of the bond that has been forged between them in their travels. That scene where the figures of the three appeared to help him was just beautiful. It's nice that with this came the realization that they cannot win here without working together. The teamwork between the hero's and their allies sure was fun to see. The pope's counterattack via the illusions though was quite the surprise but this was countered nicely by the queen's arrival and her magic. The pope's fate sure was satisfying. Overall an excellent ep that showed not just an excellent battle where Naofumi and his friends fought hard to defeat the pope but also to realise that despite his harsh path he does not have to go at it alone. Hopefully by seeing how effective teamwork and bonds are that Naofumi would start to realise that working with others is not a weakness. Im quite curious in what the queen's next move will be though. |

| I can't believe I saw Motoyasu blushing at Naofumi XD That was hillarious! The fight was very intense! That Blood Sacrifice was very powerful :o The Pope is powerless alone. Glad it's all over! Next episode"Naofumi Triumphant Return". Glad to see he's ok ;_; now I want to see the justice. Can't wait for next week! Malty will get what she deserves, finally! XD |

| This was so stupid, truly painful to watch. So many inconsistencies in this 2 episodes "battle". Hey, the pope is charging his super attack (again!) let's speak about our friendship and have a good laugh. Also the queen is a powerful magic user, she could use ice cage on the pope inside the cathedral and nothing more to help? And hers 5 minutes presentation to dying Naofumi... Help him then you can say your name, position and your social security number, he will not understood what are you saying while he is literally dying on the ground... I don't even want to speak about the level of bad cgi in 2019... |

| Japan just loves taking time for a thoughtful, drawn-out conversation at the worst possible time. I've been waiting a long time for the queen but wow, was not expecting that opening scene. She might not single-handedly make having watched this worthwhile, but I look forward to the next episode(s) with her. |
