| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Damn, so sacrifice really is a thing in certain regions of this series. I have to admit, this episode was pretty intense. Even Dororo had a hard time struggling to survive. For Hyakkimaru, it was tough for him to fight against an abomination of a demon. What an episode though. I love the amount of emotional content along with the action. Hyakkimaru's battle against that demon is was really hard considering the stakes. |

| Loved this episode. The fight against the giant flying centipede was super cool, loved it when Saru and Dororo were working together to defeat it and then Hyakkimaru trying to slash it after shooting arrows was awesome as well. He was practicing the entire night with the stones. xD Nice ending to the episode as well. :) |

Lol :D These two boys, Dororo and the other kid in this episode are too brave for their age tbh. But I take those parts as some kind of bed time story. Great visuals and sound effect as always. At first, I thought Hyakkimaru will get his eyes back in this episode. But now, I guess that monster will be tougher than this Dragonlike Centipede. |

| Loved this episode! Actually, there hasn't been a single episode so far that i haven't liked! Hyakkimaru spoke and the first thing he ever said was "Dororo"... they're bond is too awesome and wen he was smelling the flower at the end... such a pure and sweet boy haha |

| Lovely episode. Hyakkimaru learning how to find his enemies while throwing rocks, that's clever. When he smelled "fresh" rotten egg flavored air first time, i bet he wanted to recover something else haha! I'm glad he's trying to learn to speak and communicate with Dororo. I hope they will have great adventure together <3 |
| At this point I've seen many comments calling it 'one of the most brilliant in the industry' and honestly it is a big stretch. It's only been 8 weeks since it first aired, it is, in my eyes, unfair to already label it as such, especially when you think about shows like Steins;Gate, Code Geass, HxH and many others that have been there for YEARS and are still just as popular and well received. Sure, I am not taking anything away from the show itself as it's one of the best I've seen in a while but once again, 'one of the all-time best' is a big stretch at this point. At least let it finish without going downhill first. |

| Finally got to see Hyakki attempt to communicate after all this time. Credit to MAPPA though for completely drawing each monster the whole time and not resort to using obvious CG (not that I can recall of anyway) But other than that this episode was weaker than the other ones tbh Yvonnelim99 said: Hyakkimaru can speak? | Pretty good episode! Not one of the best we've seen so far, but it was an enjoyable one-off story with a cool fight and some nice character development. And hearing him say "Dororo" at the end almost made me tear up. We are now 1/3 of the way through the series, so I expect some great developments soon. |

| Not an extremely complex episode, but another great one nonetheless. First I wanted to point out that I really like that the animation studio actually drew the monster the whole time instead of resorting to cheap cgi. Kudos to them. I thought it was really well animated. In fact, I think this whole show has been pretty consistent in that regard, it's really nice to see. There seems to be a pattern of hinting what body part he'll get back at the beginning of the episode (Dororo talking about the bad smell, Hyakkimaru gets his nose and sense of smell back). Too bad first thing he smells is the sulphur pit, another bad first experience with a newly gained body part. He was probably thinking "Oh god, is this what air smells like?!" XD The challenge for Hyakkimaru this time was interesting, but even more interesting how he used sound to overcome it. Him and Dororo worked great as a team in this one, and I didn't even realize that's why he was throwing rocks at that big rock all night. The monster itself looked cool, especially having two heads on either side. Damn Hyakkimaru cut through that thing fast! How'd he do it? I'm unsure how I feel about them conveniently falling into that lake. I want to think they fought it near one intentionally because they knew that would happen, or if it was just a plot convenience. It doesn't really matter overall, just something that stood out to me. It seems like Hyakkimaru is trying to use his voice more now! He tried to call for Dororo but all he could manage was a scream. But at the end he said his name! I let out an audible "awww!" When he said it. That was a great ending and I hope we get to hear Hyakkimaru speak more. So far he's said Mio and Dororo, the names of two people he cares for. |

| Also I wanted to mention how they're still showing Mio in the OP. I might be wrong, but maybe it's so we never stop thinking about her, just as Hyakkimaru and Dororo probably are too. |
