Oh man. That conversation with the guy from the tea house. Jin: "Time to go."

Awesome follow-up to the first ep. I love this anime.

I just finished the series and the only thing on my mind was what happened to that old, homo-erotic assassin guy showing up again? I dunno, his last line in episode 2 was:"I have a feeling we'll meet each other again, matter of fact, I'm sure we will." Did I miss him or did he really never show up again?

If an assassin told me he was sure we'd meet again... I'd be watching my back and would probably become paranoid. XD

Yeah I agree, Jin's coolness is more subtle than Mugen's but present nevertheless. Jin is also more pokerfaced whereas Mugen's emotions show immediately on his face. :P (In that regard I can relate more to Mugen, hahaha.)

And what is Fuu in all this?

Anyway I'm glad that one-armed guy from the last episode died. He was just a flat out bully. D: Felt bad for the owner of the dango-ya... though I guess he had it coming if he went along with aiding in killing Mugen, Jin, and Fuu to save his own life...

I was wondering about this myself. The whole series I thought that was going to end up being the samurai who smelled like sunflowers, but I suppose not. What happened with him? He kicked ass.

Without Fuu Jin and Mugen wouldn't be travling together nor wound there be an intresting plot imo.

I really like all the characters. That assasin... It would have been fun to see him again. I Felt bad for the orge aswell, he was really cute in his own way :)

Fair enough episode for me, even though this giant guy's history was... a bit hackneyed, if you know what I mean. He didn't deserve to die, though - Mugen could stop his attack, c'mon.

Ha! I've had this for ages and kinda forgot I had it! It was when making my lists that I found it and re-watched the first episode (I'd forgotten I'd seen it but after a couple of minutes it came back to me) and watched the second.

Argh! Why didn't I watch this sooner!

I really like Jin and his short rebuttals to Mugen's rants! And I'd like to see more of Fuu too! >_> ............ <_< ........... >_> !!!

LoL at Mugen about to have sex with that girl. He should've pulled a line on her before he left like "We wont be enemies the next time we do this". I really imagined him to say something of the sort.

Any way, Jin is a target for misfortune. While Mugen is busy with a girl after a decent meal, a gay assassin tries to sweet-talk Jin with an empty stomache... LOL.

Good thing Jin is so cool and collected, someone else would've been a broken man by now. That fight was also pretty cool, though from what I've heard, it's fodder compared to the ones coming up later on.

Oh yeah, too bad about the ogre but I'm glad they wrapped that up in one episode. Would've been annoying if it dragged on.

I don't know why, but this episode really hit me in the heart shaped box. The metaphor with the fireflies, was incredibly poignant. The moment where the "ogre" reaches up to touch his first lightning bug blew me away. Everyone attracts a mate in their own way, but you don't send out the signals until YOU'RE ready. I hope future episodes can retain this sort of emotionality.
Let this be our little secret, no needs to know we're feeling HIGHER AND HIGHER AND HIGHER!

Wow... What a decline. The first episode was awesome, and it felt really original overall, and now all of a sudden comes a clichê japanese version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame with a really shallow ogre and an extremely forced relationship between him and the girl!.
Hope it gets better!

Absolutely loved the first episode and I was surprised that this was such an "okay" episode, unfortunately. Not a fan of the old cliché of poisoning and having an antidote. Why would the bad guy keep an antidote and announce it to his enemy? That seemed surprisingly stupid to me considering how the first episode seemed to mock these age old clichés. I loved how in episode 1, Mugen instantly sliced his arm off without giving a fuck and didn't care about that dude's governor father. While in this one, I hated how the one-armed guy went on with his "villain routine" of pointless dialogue before trying to kill the girl. I sincerely hope that I'll be just as impressed (if not more!) with the rest of episodes as I was with the first one.
